@@cooperstandring Hey mate! If you can, positioning early and paddling hard helps a lot, that way you’re not taking that steep of a drop. If you must take off late, what’s been helping me a lot is to try pushing the board down and in front of me when popping up. That way, the board gets a bit of a head start down the face and my weight is way back, which is good to avoid nose diving! Practice makes perfect as always, keep at it and you’ll have your aha moment for sure! 🤙

People for some reason think they can get away with paddling softer in steep heavy waves but its actually the opposite. You need to make sure you are paddling your ass off to get in before the lip

Theyre deffo 'messy' but I LOVE THESE DAYS.... waves come to you, no set peak, loads of folk chuck it off so rarely as crowded... some of my favourite sessions have been like this... although head high plus n blown out is even better... head high++ thins the crowd big time and is sooo choice, esp when outside lumps make it to our sand bar/beach n jack up WOOOP
