Damn I miss this show so bloody much!! Wish they would just do the right thing and bring it back as was. In 17 years it never got tired or stale, it was never boring and no matter who was on that week you knew you were going to have a bloody good laugh! I also really loved that they had a sort-of-similar thing to QI when it came to Hugh and Dara so that there was always a familiar face, besides Dara of course, every week. Where am I going to go to get my weekly fix of comedians calling politicians and wider society and its trends to book?! Sure you have reruns on Dave and UA-cam, but as great as that is, I still want new stuff that will make me laugh and feel a bit better about what a shit hole the world is becoming, after all, as long as you can find the funny in the really serious stuff, things are not quite as bad as we think that they are! Who is going to that for us now!? And sure, it may not have been a massive audience, but we were the most loyal audience out there today! But noooooooo.... The BBC that to really tuck them over and stitch the show up by ensuring that very, very little about the cancellation of the show and the petition to save it for our to the general public!!! If had known about either you can be sure that I would have been writing letters, getting everybody I knew (and even more people I didn't know) to sign the petition and email the BBC to protest about the cancellation!!! Sadly though, I didn't know until it was far, far too late, so the only thing that I could do after that was to just stop watching the BBC as a whole and cancelling my license fee payment as a result. As a result I can no longer watch my other favourite shows, such as the wildlife documentaries and the various Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter Watch shows, also no more Digging for Britain for me either! I really loved those shows too, but it had to be done, because cancelling Mock the Week was the final straw for me and the BBC. Although I do still use the news website, because the BBC is the only news source I really trust anymore, so good thing it is separate to the tv channels then hey!!
