Greetings and salutations! This will (hopefully) prove to be the dumping ground for a great many things that I have acquired on video tape over the years. Some of these may well have not been seen in a great many years. Others may say there is very good reason they have not been seen in a great many years. But if the response from the posting of "Jim Varney in 'The Importance of Being Ernest'" has shown me anything, it's that other people might wanna watch this stuff too! Can't have enough options on UA-cam, can you?
So here I will dump any ol' stuff I come across in my collection that isn't already up in a better quality or that hasn't been pulled down for some reason. Keep in mind, most of this was taped at EP/SLP (6 hour), so the video quality may not be the best.

Doritos Stand Up Stand Up
For those of us desperate for a flashback to the days of "Dorito's Stand-Up Stand-Up" on Comedy Central here's a few clips I have. This is from a rerun in 1995 where the topic was "music."
This was in my "pause happy" days of youth, where I taped bits and pieces more than just letting a tape run. Hence several bits being incomplete. If younger me had fathomed that this show would indeed go away at some point, I would've been recording these babies like crazy.
Featured here are:
Hugh Fink
Stu Kamens
(so sorry, I cannot find the next comedian's name!)
Al Carpenter
Wayne Federman
Johnny Lampert
Rondell Sheridan
(I remember my dad loving that "I ain't got no lips!" line)

Commander USA's Groovie Movies - Yeti (1977)

This is something I stumbled across on a tape with Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes. I hadn't stopped the tape when it reached the end of the last episode; low and behold, this episode of "Commander USA" started up. This episode originally aired March 11, 1989, if IMDB is to be believed. This recording is from...well, later than that. Beats me when exactly, but I'm guessing later in 1989...

Politically Incorrect episode

This is most of an episode of Politically Incorrect from back in the Comedy Central days. I taped a random episode for the heck of it. This was from before I was very good about making sure I didn't tape over the end of the last thing I recorded, hence the moment of another Comedy Central show at the very end there. I presume this was aired October 31, 1995. Will update that if I get a more def...
Hangin With 2

Truly a random clip from this tape collection of mine. This was from a show called "Hanging With 2" on ESPN 2, when they didn't have enough sports programming to air. I don't know what the segment was, I don't know who does the voiceover, and I don't recall watching this show. So...if you're looking for a random thing to watch for a minute, this is for you!

For those of you who don't care to watch the full UWF upload, here are some commercials from a 1995 airing of Herb Abrams' wrestling promotion on ESPN2 at 2 in the morning (Central time.) Mainly of interest if you like watching some early ESPN2 bumpers.
UWF Wrestling

Part of a UWF telecast in 1995 on ESPN 2. This was...not good times for the Herb Abrams promotion. We have Sunny Beach vs Barry Horowitz, followed by "Pistol" Pez Whatley vs Vladimir Koloff. The tape got cut off during the...*ahem*...very exciting brawl that took place afterward. This is complete with commercials for that real "ESPN 2 at 2am in 1995" feel.

Some of us sure love our nostalgic commercials, don't we? I know I do. Buttafuoco Song
Переглядів 3632 роки тому
Back in the days when Comedy Central ran bits, sketches, and the occasional music video during their programming, this thing popped up! (Gosh, I miss those days.) This showing of "Buttafuoco Song" by Marvin Rosenberg was recorded in late 1994. Apparently, it had been around for quite a while, and this was the second pass of it on CC. I do not own anything about this song/video except the VHS ta...

Bozo's Breakfast Club countdown (week of May 16?, 1982)
Переглядів 4112 роки тому
This is a clip of "Bozo's Breakfast Club" from WCGV, channel 24 in Milwaukee. Well before it became a UPN affiliate, 24 and 18 (WVTV) were the top independent stations in the Milwaukee area. From sometime in 1982, Bozo is joined by WKTI (94.5 FM)'s B.J. Hunter to count down the Top 5 "Countdown Computer" songs of the week. Given what is said in the video, I'm guessing this is from mid-May. Stro...

A Minnesotan's Version of Good Will Hunting
Milwaukee's great jump blues masters. I saw them make the women dance many times. Good times. Thanks guys.
The No Fear sweatshirt! Lmao that was so 90s. Spiked hair and No Fear decals on cars everywhere.
The other guy was in Reno 911
Jim was a national treasure
@@FiveStringCommando Truly, he was.
This was absolutely transcendent
I totally remember this and have waited for years for someone to post this beautiful piece of bad taste. Thank you.
@@nathancox5316 Happy to be of service!
I've been looking for this for years I always remembered the sunset at the beginning or sunrise
Thank you for sharing this time capsule c:
You're welcome - hopefully more will follow before long!
Oh my god it's like Ernest's IQ shot up 50 points
Not even joking, Jim varney was reported to have a genius level IQ.
Me
Watching this after OJ died.
Great minds think alike.
I haven't seen this in decades but it left such a mark on me back in the day. I can't believe I remembered the lyrics so perfectly all these years. I'm such a weirdo.😂
Memory is a weird thing, ain't it?
What is this from?
An old Comedy Central show called "Viva Variety."
@@SuedeKnight oh yeah, I remember that was a thing.
Someone needs to initiate a National Jim Varney Day. Please 🙏
I remember this show devolving from Bozo's Big Top on Channel 24 to Bozo and Cookie sitting around the kitchen table smoking and doing something akin to a radio morning zoo show before the got taken off the air. Quite a spectical for my 12yo self!
I wasn't around yet in '82 to view this insanity, but I'm sure interested in seeing more of this and what changes this show went through. Maybe someone else out there has some episodes on tape.
Guy was a genius.
Reno 911?!
Two actors from "Reno 911" doing their show "Viva Variety" between Reno and "The State."
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽I’ve waited the entire history of UA-cam for someone to upload vid of Bozo Breakfast Club. My friends and I watched this show religiously in 8th grade. Weird and subversive. I’d love to see some clips with JoJo the Monkey and 💗Nurse Jane💗!
Very pleased to be of service! I don't have a lot more of ol' Boze, but some day I'll get that posted.
Thank you for sharing!!! I so wish that I had a VCR at the time. I wonder if any footage survives of his on air rebuttal to Mike Drew "trashing" of the show in the Milwaukee Journal and his "twilight zone" parody. Thank you again!
You are very welcome! I don't have that bit in particular; hopefully I'll get what little Bozo I do have on tape uploaded not too far down the road.
Yes, we finally get to see Vern and my God, what a degenerate he is and may he burn in Hell for eternity….but the main takeaway from this clip is that Joan Leizman was smoking hot.
He would have been brilliant on Downton Abbey!
Man! I've been going to Thier shows since the early 1980's! Still sounding awesome!!!
I love the crew from The State/Viva Variety and Jim Varney so much. ❤
"Dimwit flunky" is probably the best description of Kato Kaelin. I remember this commercial back when it used to air; doubt I'll ever forget it
Michael Ian Black?
As Johnny Bluejeans, yep!
Thank you for sharing this with us!!
Viva variety
Legend!
Jim Varney was my hero as a kid. Hell of a guy
In a way I felt sorry for Jim Varney. He was a serious Shaksperian actor who never really got any attention for that and was just known as the goofy guy playing Earnst. Which I'm glad he did the Earnst character because he was a huge part of my childhood. I'm sure he was glad he got the recognition for Earnest but I would imagine there was a point where he felt trapped being that role all the time and would never have the chance to prove his serious acting.
I think he would have in time. "Toy Story" might've proven to be the first big step toward getting regular non-Ernest work.
So "Snap Into a Slim Jim Ohh Yeah" is not actually a line he says in any of the commercials at all it's just a fan combination this whole time I always thought that's what he said in the commercials.
Mount Rushmore of wrestling would be savage, hogan, undertaker, austin, rock, cena.
Can I get some likes for Thomas Lennon
4:00 "I took time to do the spider-man movie, I beat up everybody there." 🤣🤣🤣
OOOOHHHHHH YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Long live Ernest P. Worrel aka Jim Varney. RIP. Hey Vern! Its Ernest will always be a legendary TV show.
It's interesting from a what could have been point of view. I have never seen this clip, and if you think of it, he could have been in a serious role as a high-class British Gentleman in the 97 film Titanic. Tbh he could have easily been a first-class passenger in that movie. It was one of the great miss opportunities, I guess, since he died after the films production was finished.
OMG I have been talking about this idea for years (perhaps I saw this? ) but it needed to have been a whole dang thing. High brow/low brow thing.
RIP. Lanny Poffo.
Nice audio find.
Thanks! Recorded it live and meant to upload it for the last several years.
Jim Varney and Tom Lennon? Dope
REST IN PEACE MACHO MAN OOOOOOOOH YEAH ☝️
Jim Varney is under-rated... he was phenominal as Jed Clampet
Legend always and i watched this as a child but in my 40s am just now noticing some of these other actors like daaaamn they got a chance to work with Jim thats awesome
He was such a great talent. He died way too soon
This is a weird episode of Reno 911
It’s not “Know what I mean?” It’s “Nome sayin’?” Nome sayin’?
That was amazing. What a pure talent he was. We miss you Jim!
Jim Varney was actually a classically trained stage actor.
Never heard this interview before. Macho Man was awesome in it. Too bad he never did go back to the WWE.
And lots of speculation why. He'd have been great for the Attitude Era never mind the New Gen Era
