Building a RC Skeleton Wheelchair
Happy Halloween
This year for Halloween we built a remote controlled wheelchair prop with a skeleton riding on it. For this build I used a pair of wheelchair motors and a cytron motor controller to drive the chair. The remote control is a FlySky FS-i6 and a FS-BS6 receiver. This was a fun project that provided an opportunity for my son to learn while building this Halloween prop.

Building an Aero scoop for my DDR Kitcar from a scan and 3D Printed Mold
Переглядів 1,3 тис.4 місяці тому
This episode on the tesla powered DDR kitcar, after finishing FDM printing the dash and aero scoop molds in PLA, I assembled them. Once assembled both components were something out with latex on the dash mold and body filler on the front clip aero scoop. To bond the components together I used ABS cement. The ABS cement once fully dried formed a significantly good bond, better than the test coup...
Remaking the roof to body bridge panel on the DDR kitcar
Переглядів 3954 місяці тому
This episode on the tesla powered DDR kitcar I remade the hoop to body bridging panel. I made a cardboard template and transferred it to some 18 gauge steel sheet metal. Once I cut this out, I tacked in in place. Unfortunately the main body fiberglass was sitting wrong on the right side and was down about a 1/2" or 12.7mm from where it should have been. After setting the body back up where it n...
3D Scanning the front of my DDR kit car
Переглядів 8475 місяців тому
I scanned the front end of the DDR kit car so I can model and fabricate some fiberglass pieces. Specifically the aero scoop for the front and the body to dash mating surface. I used the Shining 3D Einstar for the scanner which I picked up a few months back. I like the scanner and the software that allows for fairly seamless recovery when track is lost. With the scan of the front complete, I can...
Conforming the Front Hoop on the Kit Car
Переглядів 7686 місяців тому
In this part, I removed the front hoop of the chassis (roll cage) and replaced it with a new conforming hoop that neatly contours to the body. This improves the sight lines in the DDR kit car and provides additional head room in the center of the vehicle. Manually bending 1.75" 120 wall DOM is a hell of a workout. would recommend! Another step closer to the chassis being done. Next Episode: Sca...
Hinging the Front Clip on the DDR
Переглядів 4727 місяців тому
This episode, on the grullon ddr gt8 kit car, I built the hinging for the front clip to open forward. I took a fairly simple solution, did two 1.5" aluminum square tubes welded to a 1/4" aluminum plate. I also reinforced the front clip nose with additional fiberglass to reduce flex. While the clip is still a but wobbly, I will reinforce this later when I build the front down-force scoop. 0:00 I...
Steering Rework on the electric DDR
Переглядів 4837 місяців тому
This time I went back and fixed the steering and completed it out. The previous layout with the drop links was not sitting right with me and I wanted it to be right. I added a steering miter box to make a right angle turn down to the steering rack. This required the trimming of the rear motor mount which I was initially reluctant to do. I ended up picking up the assembly hole for the rear mount...
Air Lift Performance Install on my Kit Car DDR

This episode, I install an Air Lift Performance 3H suspension kit. I have included some other parts that are not Air Lift Performance in my setup, such as the Ridetech airshocks and airmaxx tank and compressor. The ride height sensing kits are great for vehicles equipped with air suspension. There is one advantage to the 3H controller is that it is an integrated box with the electronics. There ...

With the two other projects, I decided I will go ahead and scrap the trike and salvage as many components as possible. Cantilever RideTech Front Suspension on my DDR

This episode I finished out the suspension on the DDR. Tackled the front suspension putting in cantilever suspension. DDR Kitcar Ridetech Suspension Install (rear)
Переглядів 986Рік тому
This episode took a lot longer to put together than anticipated. Mostly due to some oversight and adjustment required on the approach. The initial plan was to connect it to the spring perch, however, this interfered with the clearance on the drive axels. I ended up having to modify the lower control arm to create a mounting point where the shocks previously mounted to. I also ended up shifting ...

Hello I'm trying to do the same thing to my porsche 924, I was wondering how you blended the rear fenders into the remaining pieces of the top of the old fender and to the back bumper area. Did you use some sort of body filler or did you just sand it down to where it was flush? Or just leave that hard line?

    • @ForgeSpace
      @ForgeSpace 6 місяців тому

I never did a full mass measurement on it. Between the frame, suspension, and oversized brakes on it it was on the heavy side. The 12kW motor was surprisingly peppy for what it is. I definitely got it up to at least 65mph with ease. On a regular motorcycle conversion I would say this is about the equivalent of a 250 - 300cc motor.

i am use an extremely high pressure mechanical leveraging system with dual master cylinders large bore to boot. Higher volume, higher pressure with high leverage. The brakes are pumped, however it is effortless. Custom build to custom foot box. As for the door to door sealing areas, i am use aluminum to reinforce and basically build the edges or mating surfaces of the door with it, as well as the area the door seals to. A good width of area is good for a lot of seal. Also ridges built into this setup creates a strong even seal surface between both. My car closes like a hatch on a submarine and no water can get into the driver's area without permission. In event it is flooded or submerged there are cranks to force the doors open! Just as there are cranks to raise the car off the ground to change tires quickly. All custom fabricated. i am shall build anyone a car that lambo or ferrar would be envious of. All redundancy in event of electromagnetic pulse. This car shall still operate even if lightening struck it repeatedly. Impenetrable driver occupant station with crush and impact zone surrounds along with energy repelling shear away front and rear sections of car in event of severe accident or crash by other vehicles or semis. Bullet resistant. The vehicle shall be bullet resistant and withstand many impacts of small arms fire to an extent or degree. Explosive resistance. The vehicle is low on explosive resistance, however much higher than any other normal vehicle that is driven daily for the purpose of travel. The vehicle is a low maintenance grand tourer, and problems are significantly reduced compared to any modern normal vehicle due to engineering and selection of components. There is performance, power, and fuel economy. The vehicle can take extended trips and not stop for gasoline for a long distance, further than that of much greater expense vehicles. Now, note this vehicle would be custom tailored to the individual, there are no assembly lines. However the tuning and performance are universally adaptable.
