      Anything you can get a socket wrench over... If you want to make it easy, then just take out the radiator. Best guess. But it's been a while.

    Although my English-skills unfortunately are quite low, I can´t hold back to write this comment :) : Watching this video for the first time, I missed 20 seconds at the beginning on-screen and was just listening to the conversation and instructions. Otherwise, I would have noticed "the patient isn´t moving like a quad and he also uses is arms/hands". As a wheeler (but not a quad), I was completely focus on (t)his task - almost cheering something like "Keep going !" aloud in front of my computer :) ! At 5:41 when he finally reached a seated position, I noticed that his right leg was just about to "fall off the table" and thought "Awww, NO!, please - if this is going to happen, it might/will throw him completely out of balance !" So the fact that I never expected his skills at 6:00 prove, both of you did an awesome job here :) ! Thanks for sharing ! Greetings, all the best and lots of Love from Germany !

      well yes, this time, what about all the novices trying to do this? or next time when you get one thats weak from age or whatever...its not a good practice to be hitting the radiator with parts is what im saying. In my opinion its one of those thought process that separates professionals from diy or someone thats just trying to get er done as quick and cheaply as possible. I prefer a mechanic that takes the appropriate amount of time to do things, esp on a Cadillac where its very easy to end up costing yourself extra $ and time by busting something by trying to fix something.

    I just did one today with my small mobile repair business. It will come out but go slow to not damage the radiator. Mine pretty much fell out by spinning the alternator were the base is facing the ground and of course the drive pulley will be facing up if your under the car

      Hondo T Well your talking to someone that had family in making these cars and also I know one someone that was on the Northstar design team. The only reason that its a little more difficult to get your hands in places is mainly because of the size of the motor. It really takes up a lot of space being a 32 valve V8. It's the same with Lincoln and the rest.

      Did you pull the engine out from the top or out the bottom of the car?? A lot of people don't realize that the engine can be pulled straight up disconnected from the transmission and makes it much easier to work on. Dropping the sub frame is the hard way.

    • @starxlr7863

    • @starxlr7863
      @starxlr7863 7 років тому

      This is not the only engine with the alternator mounted where it is. There are numerous other engines with alternators mounted in places that are much harder to get out. It's mounted in a good place but its just the shear size of the engine that makes it seem hard to get at. These are excellent engines and I have family that helped build these engines in Livonia Michigan.

    other than the bottom plate did you have to take anything else off or apart I think have to replace my alternator in my 01 eldorado my service charging system warning came on my dad had to replace an ac belt in before I got it is it all one belt

    • @starxlr7863

      There should be nothing else. Only the small access plate and the right cooling fan are the only two items necessary to remove. And the alternator then just slides on out.

    Memories ...c4 quad.. I never had someone that talked that much. Good thing you had no questions. Pivot .. nose over toes .. go well with rocking momentum. You could face that bed .. put both feet down& together .. lean forward .. nose over toes ..rock ..pivot .. sit. Hands on the object transferring to .. or one on the seat . Using the back of the hand is a must for me . I'm curious if those with non damaged hands would prefer it over the palm. I couldn't hear if he mentioned height .. seat to object needs it and not a soft couch .. cuz you'll find it hard to lift up lol. Sink. I learned using the arm of the couch or a blanket to push upward..off from .. put my hand higher than the butt . Placed other hand on my wheelchair seat or arm rest. (Power wc) .. make a lazy susan out of wood, put grip tape over areas your feet are traced on the wood .. helps to learn pivoting . Heeled shoes don't stick.. Exercise ball is great for trunk control . Supervised. My pt put me on my knees on a pt mat/table. Abdominal was over the yoga ball. He shifted me side to side ..back N fourth . Knees will freak. I think our knees get missed As a crucial area to use. Bare weight on knees it helps many areas. Especially since we sit so long in a bent knee position. You can use the bed as a good spot to try. Hard surfaces freak my paralysis. That gait belt .. I so dislike them. They cause a stimulus. Like any thing binding. They are a false sense of protection. Had a nurse drop me as she grabbed it vs me.

      We were students at the time doing a video-skills-check for physical therapy school. We've both graduated, and are licensed therapists now, if that's any consolation! I DO use this technique with patients. It does work. Strength in your serratus anterior muscles will help get things moving if it is not severely impacted by your injury. You need a lot of anterior deltoid strength to straighten the elbow once you've placed your wrist (5 min 29 sec into the video), and a lot of biceps and wrist extension strength in the wrist pulling from behind the knee. Strong lats (latissimus dorsi) will help with balance once you're sitting. TL:DR Strengthen the anterior deltoids, biceps, and wrist extensors a lot. Wish you the best of luck. You'll get it, just keep working. And always practice something like this with the help of a professional to assist - shameless self plug for my profession. -d

    It's true! He isn't really C6. Or C anything. We were physical therapy students when we made this for feedback in a course. I assure you, though, that the steps and the movement is how someone who is C6 ASIA A would move from prone to long-sit with enough practice. I've used it in the clinic since graduating in my instruction to patients.
