I live for guitar! I have been playing for 30 years and love to learn and share new musical ideas. Whether it's playing, modding, repairing, or just building from scratch, I get a kick out of all of it.

Laney BCC Ironheart 112 and Peavey Invective 112 Basic Clean Tone Comparison
Переглядів 8107 місяців тому
This is a pretty bare-bones clean tone comparison. I misspoke in the video... The Invective is 20 watts vs. the Laney's 30 watts No reverb, no presence, no resonance, and the dynamics knob on the Laney is at zero. More to come! www.brgmusic.com

5 Weeks To Pick Hand Control and Independence Part 3
I know I'm biased but I like the rasp of the X2. The X3 is too clean
Picking up the X2 with pedal for $150
When I connect my headphones…I can hear a static sound. How do I get rid of that?
Did you ever sell that 212 Classic Chorus behind you?
Yes... about 3 months ago
is the riff from the heretic anthem?
I’m new to amps and electric guitars. Is there a way to get rid of the static sound when the gain or volume is high?
Can i get some clean tones out of this amp? Like some type of DIO or Scorpions clean licks?
That first riff is Hell's Bells and it took me entirely too long to figure that out 😂
PV takes it home
I bought this amp, I'm just a bedroom player. I only use 1 to 5 Watt mode. It's loud enough for me
Oh yeah! It puts out plenty!
Hi there, thanks for review. I have one specific question: Why would you buy this guitar when there is ex-200? To my eye it seems like the exact same guitar with few differences: color tone, ex-200 is HH while ex-201 is H only, tone control is missing on 201 and 201 has 24 frets while 200 has 22. The price is same(in my country 201 is even more expensive).. everything seems is the same, of course ex-201 is newer, but is that really that important? Am I missing something? What do you think?
It's just another Bastian for the market. I don't pretend to know why they offer the variants they do. I would definitely prefer 24 frets, but I'm just sharing what's available here.
@benchristopher76 thanks for the answer. Ok I had to ask there cause I'm little worried that without the neck pickup it won't be that great, but prefer 24 as well.. hard decision between these two right now
Wow, what a great video, I didn't know the Peavey, but according to my ears, both Amplifiers sound very good, of course the ears of all of us may have something different from my opinion. In my case I would leave the Line 6 for rhythm guitar, and the Peavey for lead guitar since this is a little brighter and could excel in guitar solos. Both sound very brutal but a good EQ could also be done, for those who don't want the Peavey to sound so bright
What amp were you using in this video?
Peavey Vypyr X2
@ thank you so much 😃
Nice video of your tile ceiling.
Katana sounds way better
This review is garbage kinda like your damn playing please don't ever do another review of metal amps your tone sucks and u aren't even doing anything my 5 year old could do this shit better then u.
Have a tip that worked for me. Use a suction cup to take off the back plate instead of digging into it with tools and your fingers to crack the paint!
Wouldn't have made a difference on this one.
I just picked up the X2 and need some EQ help! My 8 string just sounds muddy and I know nothing about EQ to be quite honest
Try turning up your mids and turning down your bass.
Would you choose this or the ltd black metal ec-fr that is the question
Having played both.... this
who makes yevaep amps?
They broke the mold with the black winter
Ben how about some more lessons on here for beginners man? Youre a great teacher bro
I highly recommend bens shop and Ben for that matter. Great guy great shop, and even greater knowledge. I LOVE my Legator
Great review man! I just picked this up for my kid whos the guitarist in the family. He absolutely loves it. I grew up on CCR too thanks to my Dad who also played so it was great to hear that
CCR came to me courtesy of my daf.
Appreciate the video, man. It's pretty obvious to me that the stock speaker is a bass speaker. Has a similar sound to when I play a guitar amp through my 4x10 bass cab. Replaced it with a 70/80 I had on hand and it sounds much more guitar amp-like.
I can't seem to find a Legator Spectre 6 string.
Yeah. They never did one that I'm aware of. Only 7's and 8's.
👌🏼
Had one for 6 years. Never ever let me down. No matter the genre.
They are so awesome. Great feel and tone.
So, I just did this and now I have buzzing going on over the fretboard. Now, my guitar was to spec as far as string height pickup height truss rod ect, everything was fine, now I have buzzing.. Do i need to go back over this guitar and basic set it up again? It's just weird how it introduced the buzzing now from just a slight shift. I'm using a fender the the high E kept slipping off fretboard and this is why I did this little fix.
Yes. You'll need to adjust the set up. Sometimes the shift can really throw things off depending on your fretboard radius, etc.
Like that ya EVH'd that pink guy. Can't tell if thats a JB in it or something else. Awesome, though. Have a Screamin Demon in my beater I one knob one pickuped. Think I'm switching back to the JB for fun.
I had a Duncan Distortion handy. Worked out really well.
Wont that just make your jack come loose faster?
Not really. I just spun this one to show that the cable doesn't crackle or pop whole moving. I f you plug in, you'd generally just move the cable in line with the guitar, amp, or pedal you're using, not even spinning the jack.
Considering buying an X2 60 watt with the 12 inch speaker. Never had more than 20 watts, looking for something with descent metal tone for bedroom play and this looks like it could be it. Will the 60 be too loud for bedroom playing? For instance the 20W I have you can just barely turn volume on so it’s very low, and not shaking the walls. Is the 40 or 60 watt vypyr capable of keeping the volume down? Thanks!
Yeah... just feather the post gain knob and the master to keep the volume where you want it.
@@benchristopher76 thx for the input. That concern of not being able to keep it quiet without driving the wife crazy was my only concern 😂
Reminds of the lado earth guitars i love so much
Totally!
I’m considering buying these as my first double pedal. I like that they come with a swappable chain drive so I can play around with the action of both chain and direct
That's one of the things that sold me on it, too. I also dig that you can just change it into 2 singles without buying extra stuff.
I'm in this market right now and i very much appreciate you putting this together. Well done sir.
No problem. I have fun hearing the differences in all these combos
@benchristopher76 Please tell me which combo amplifier to take for playing Trash Metall style in an apartment so that it can sound good at low volume? I'm already tired of these settings all the time, now I have a sound card and plug-ins. I don’t want to bother with settings on my PC, but rather focus on the gameplay, and of course the sound should be good! Now there are all sorts of Boss Katana Gen3, but as far as I understand there is nothing to catch there without a computer or an application for metal...
What hell is this? You should’ve not put hands on them. Just demos some blues jr Fender amps Goodness
nice legato playing, reminds me of chris poland just not too jazzzzzzzzzzzzy and more metal
Thanks!
great playing man
Thanks!
RUST IN PEACE POLARIS
thanks for the tips! very helpful
I hope it helps!
Haha Bad Moon Rising was the song I would play clean too! Great stuff!
Have the exact same guitar, mid eighties, original owner.
A buddy of mine from Maryland grabbed this one. I really dug it. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to find another!
For me the Peavey wins.
These videos have been helping me immensely as I just purchased a VYPYR X2. Please keep em' coming... Bass too being I'm also a new bassist. 🤘
Good to hear! I am currently having terrible issues with my voice. As soon as I get that sorted, there's more coming.
Been playing guitar for about 35 years but I just purchased the X2 and my first bass. Thanks for the video
Enjoy my VIP-1, so I purchased a very clean VIP-2 so I could play bass with 12 inch speaker. Lesson learned. Don't test an amp on a Chicago front porch. Will call you in Iowa tomorrow in hopes of getting your advice. Thanks. Richard
This is a great Video. It really does change the sounds. But its odd.... It sounds better stock on some riffs. And other riffs. the Green Back sounds better. But all in all; Great comparison Video! Thank You!
You've sold me on the Catalyst. My Spider 1 might have to be retired
I like it more than the mini head.
