Thank you these are good
Last story is by an Australian????????
Anyone get the Gisele Pelicote feeling with third story.🤢🥴
This eas all new to me. Loved the stories, and the narrator is brilliant. Is it the guy from the Green wing? Big thank you, will be. following up with more of Dahls stories!❤
Oh thank you!! for reading this story it reminisce my childhood memories. I read this story in school as one of my Alternative English chapters. Well those were the golden days.☺️
40:01 ❤
Boring narrator. Meh
i hate the narrators voice
Thank You! My English teacher in German School taught us to read RD. Learning English this way was the best thing that could have happened to us.
Totally agree with your teacher.
These were so enjoyable.
this guy sounds like a cavalry charge. slow down, relax
Ronald Dahl is brilliant. And Lish English is correct that there is more than one way to learn a language. We are from California and our youngest son is fluent in Mandarin and German. I’m sure he would say that Mandarin was harder to learn. He learned German from his grandmother, who was from Berlin. After the War, she came to America, and she forced herself to learn English because she knew she would have better employment opportunities if she spoke English well. And her English was very good, but formal-she never really got slang. I could see how popular tv shows could help with that. Our son decided to take German in college, to better learn the grammar. He tested out of a few semesters, and he got to study for his Junior year in Munich. During his study abroad, a couple of people told him they had always thought he was German, and autistic. I asked “Why autistic?” It was because he pronounced the words perfectly but in the old, “High German,” as his grandmother taught him, and spoke it very correctly and well, but they thought he spoke more slowly (and more formally) than an average native speaker. So popular German tv might have helped him too- lol.
Thank you ,thoroughly enjoyed this.
Who reads the 1st ones..?
These stories are adapted for non-English speakers and English language learners. The narrator is unknown.
@ that's a pity Too many of these things are Ai (but of course IF it turns out that the first narrator IS Ai and that I am mistaken then I suppose it doesn't matter after all?)👍
Is this an Ai narration? Awful.
Sounds like it.
This is bulshit they're fishing for your information
Narrator - Stephen Carpenter (USA)
Awful…Ai ruined these stories …if you must use a I then make it as good as possible. You’ve wasted your time producing rubbish!😡
You're not a robot, are you?
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love the voice of the narrator perfect for listening too and keeping one engaged in the story Thank you ❤
1:04:40 do they really make licorice out of rat blood
I cant decide if he has a cermecial voice, or a kind, just out of middle aged voice.
Dear Fazza, I apologize if you misunderstood me.. For in USA, youth in women is the goal post,,It is a God worshipped by everyone.. You are so drop-dead, handsome, passionate, and so talented, so athletic , adventurous. The deeper qualities of love, kindness, compassion, and moral, etc, attract me to you. Let I must,,I can not let myself go. Honestly, all of sudden , it seems like a day, I could not recognize myself ..it must be genetics, a switch was flipped, Maybe all the antibiotics for UTI, or my diet , indeed the problems with my oldest sons. So do not think me shallow. esesI simply must work on flipping the shift backward. My God, I must sleep now by falling asleep listening to short stories and 3 cats lol
Joan Hickson was marvellous
50:26 those book titles 😂😂😂😂😂
44:55 "lobsters is sex food" 😂
Moronic narration
Philomel Cottage 01:02:43 N or M 04:08:36 Murder on the Orient Express
I enjoyed this story, but all the mansplaining on the subject of childbirth was hilariously in error. Screw the breathing, give me an epidural!!! (From a mom of four)😂
Narration of every story is great. Roald Dahl has some imagination. Prolific writer.
I think these offerings are AI generated and will therefore not be listening.
Unexpected. Where do such wise thoughts come from? From the fact that the narrator doesn't stutter, mumble, gasp or have a slurred tongue?
@@Lish_English Expression.
@@GURUGOLDBERG Narrator Charlton Griffin... Charlton Griffin has been blessed with a voice that is capable of many characterizations or personalities (though his Americans can all begin to sound alike).
It is AI!
The Abc Murders 04:13:09 The Murder at the Vicarage
1. 4 50 from Paddington 2. 03:10:46 A Pocket Full of Rye 3. 06:15:07 Cat Among the Pigeons
I enjoy this narrator.
I hug trees yall
Although I generally like his stories, I usually find the endings to be abrupt and unsatisfying. It seems like he gets bored after a while I just pulls the plug.
I was pleased to hear recently that , like most children's authors , Dahl hated children. !!
Love that narration, I thought it was Mark Heap!
Is that the Green room guy? If he's in something it's worth watching as he creates some truly bonkers characters.
You're all getting it free. No respect for the author's work.
Good stories, well read; thanks!
1st story is just weird.
There are stories with exciting plot and events. In this story, the horrible events are left out of the story. The hero of the story is a blind man with scars on his face who is living life to the fullest. And a lawyer who is knocked out by the mere touch of a scar. He, poor guy, is depressed, he's not comfortable. The lawyer is a decent man, but empty, unable to sympathise and empathise. What's a friend like that for?
Love W.S.M's writing style..he's so prolific! Great writer...The Painted Veil...saw the movie...just finished audiobook on Ytube..no ads .🎉
Master of macabre.
Thank you! But the speed of the narrator is pretty fast for learners.
You can adjust the speed in the youtube player settings.
@Lish_English I do that, but it sounds unnatural. Thank you!
I'm Japanese, the icon you see is not me. English is a foreign language for me. So it's not a little challeging for me to read English stories. But I think Roald Dahl's stories are wonderful and your narration is very helpful.
Thank you for your kind words. I can recommend you the 1st and 3rd collections of Dahl's stories on my channel. The language is a bit simplified there. Approximately Intermediate level.
Teacher, thank you for replying. Also, you recommended suitable books of this great author to me. I happened to know his short stories thanks to Luke's podcast from London. Before that I considered this author as a writer only for kids. I was a big fan of Matilda, BGF, chocolate factory, and so on. Reading books for kids in English is not a easy job for Japanese, but I believe Roald Dahl's sentences have magical effects for learners even in children books!! I'm almost 60, but I still practice reading aloud Matilda in order to improve my English. Again, thank you for your sweet channel!!

1. At the Old Swimming Hole 2. 22:26 Deadlock
Dark Dahl. Excellent
My Lady Love, My Dove 36:29 The Ratcatcher 1:06:49 William and Mary 2:10:17 Mr Hoddy 2:29:08 The Princess and the Poacher 2:50:28 Genesis and Catastrophe
Most of these are repeat stories from your earlier collections, just with a different narrator. Still good though. Would be nice if there were time stamps so I could easily skip around to the ones I haven't heard.
Yeah, I'm already confused by Dahl's stories. Thank you for pointing that out. This collection will be my last.
