Stop Focusing on Your Goals. Do This Instead

    Good video bro. I'd suggest you work on making the audiance stay focused more with your speech because I feel that I lost focus sometimes during the video. and you could lower the background music a little bit and also cut the parts where you do not speak(this is also a part of where I could not stay focused). I like that you bring up focus. One of the biggest challenges I faced was calming the inner dialogue, muting my surroundings, and not losing track when trying to visualize longer tactics. I imagine some people are naturally good at it, but it was an inner challenge that took a few years to get good at. My chess club met at a pub, so it had a lot of noise and distractions. If you can focus and solve problems in that environment, you could do it almost anywhere. Better focus and evaluation skills in crazy environments is what I gained, but I imagine it's different for everyone.

    My constructive advice to you is to listen to your review after you've finished with it. Learn from the parts you find annoying. Complete a thought or idea before skipping to another. Avoid speaking too fast, and the too frequent use of "right," "um," "you know," "OK," "pretty cool," &c.

    Is there a video to do the Dremel mod on the Noodler's nib? I have the Konrad but it don't flex as easily and it's tiring trying to flex it.

    • @wittwittwer1043
      @wittwittwer1043 3 роки тому

      I have 3 Noodlers pens with "flex" nibs. The "flex" designation is a misnomer; they aren't even SOFT nibs. Besides that, I haven't seen any modern flex nibs that are comparable with vintage flex nibs, although many manufacturers today are claiming they are "close." I've been buying/using fountain pens (some of them costing over $1K) since the mid '80s & have over 150 total, including many different brands. I've become leery of advertising claims.

    I purchased the Duraflex in a beautiful brown resin with rose gold appointments. I like the pen's color and design. I also prefer its screw on cap versus a snap on. The ink flow is inconsistent. I find I must often prime the feed/nib by turning the converter a bit to allow more ink to flow which is a nuisance and an inconvenience. This is a decent enough pen to have just for the fun of it and to experience what it's like to write with a flexible nib. My personal opinion: find a more affordable pen, perhaps a Noodler's, if you're trying flex for the first time. If you're looking to produce consistent slim and wide lines, you're better off using a brush pen. If you're looking to add a little flair to your handwriting, a stub nib should do. Thanks for the video!

      @MisterJackieMa 5 років тому

      Thanks for your very constructive feedback!! I'll make sure to take a note of it ;) Seriously, because of supportive comments like yours, I've been working on it! Unfortunately, I wasn't given the natural talent of gracefully putting words together that effortlessly flow off my tongue... and instead have to work on this skill set from a level of "really scary". Though it may be understandable to judge people with a fixed viewpoint, this was created over a year and a half ago! My most recent video ( ua-cam.com/video/mElRnBT-6rM/v-deo.html ) hopefully sounds a little less frightening. Though far from perfect, it's nice seeing improvement in a skillset like speaking and my growth is entirely a result of constructive feedback like yours! Thanks for your very valuable input! =)
