Prelude for Classical Guitar (live score)

A prelude for classical guitar I transcribed and expanded from one of my notebooks. The Sibelius 8 instrument is a bit weak though it has greater fidelity to the nuances of the score than using Pianoteq's classical guitar.
Electric Aeolian Harp 2024 Extended Edition
Переглядів 247Місяць тому
The way an aeolian harp works is that the strings are played by wind and the process only sounds overtones of the strings. (see wikipedia for an in depth explanation). 7 hours of recordings in various tunings can be purchased at chrisvaisvil.bandcamp.com/album/electric-aeolian-harp-2024-extended-edition

Big Band Jazz tuned to 42 Notes Octave Subset
Переглядів 87Місяць тому
This experiment used Suno generated big band jazz tuned to a 42 edo subset to see what a practical application of 42 notes per octave to music originally in 12 equal using the CPS (2 of 2 3 5 7 11 with 1/1) subset of 42 edo. The tuning used steps 0, 5, 11, 14, 16, 19, 25, 33, 34, 38, 42 (octave). Retuning done by Melodyne. In the 21st century tuning has become a parameter that composers have co...
The Electric Aeolian Harp - mix of 4 tracks with snow pips
Переглядів 147Місяць тому
Roughly early Thanksgiving 2024 a snow / wind / temperature drop event occurred where I live. Here I present 4 tracks of 10 to 14 minute length in different tuning and arranged them to try to offset the 'blooms' in Cakewalk. Then I exported / imported the mix to Melodyne where you can see not only the drift caused by the wind pushing against the instrument, the differently tuned blooms, the rou...

Whispers in Stillness Sung in High Elvish
Song??
Just something I made up Friday night while playing with my guitar. Could be a song it isn’t yet.
indiscipline(king crimson from the discipline album)overtones with the 🥁 drumming .. my favorite song on the album.. maybe all we can do is respond with our art and music 🎶.. very intense and powerful excellent work.. the first thing I heard was the buzz saw sound i have come to know and like alot well it happens when tweaking the delay settings.. I have spent hours just messing with that effect..
@@h92o thank you very much!
Art reflects the times which are sad and provoking and we must be vigilant! That said innovation, stark, jarring and wonder in your score Chris!
Thank you Jim!
Very Good !!!
Anyone else here from the Dishonored video?
Really nice song 😊
Lovely Chris - very stated, frippertronics friendly and stately counterlines!
Thank you Jim!
I feel like I've been here
Yes…. But you know I use my own video footage :-)
Reminds me of frippatronics 😮 so great 😃👍🏼
Thank you very much! I'm hesitant to be compared to Robert, but this technique did draw inspiration from him. Adian Belew, Robert Fripp, Steve Hackett and Alan Holdsworth are guitarists I enjoy and draw inspiration from.
@CV-qy5qi I hear their influence on the playing..
very nice. i really enjoyed that
Thank you very much - I'm glad you enjoyed it!
absolutely incredible. i havent heard music that entranced me like this in almost 10 years
Just so very neat.. I found a alt yt channel of mine that could subscribe to you to break the 400 sub's number 😅 congratulations on 400 sub's 🎉
I like things like this. The sounds are the best 👍🏼😁
This is just great, 👍🏼 the tuning is handled nicely by AI.. I noticed that AI doesn't even complain about what it's doing.. if a human being were to make this it would take a very long time and then it probably won't be as good as this..
Thank you - though I have to clarify that the tuning was applied after AI generated the music. Melodyne is able to handle the re-tuning with high fidelity - any artifacts you hear was in the original Suno generated file.
stunning!! thank you! this will be on heavy rotation for my listening in the coming days.
@@martinback thank you!
Wow 😲 so Cool 😎 what DAW is that?? 😊 cakewalk.. mmmm it's a neat plot of sounds 😊
@@h92o thank you - that is Melodyne. Not so much a DAW but an audio editor.
Hey I loved what you played very much, it was hypnotic in a good way, serene and trippy at the same time, is that your composition? BTW, first video I've seen of your channel, clicked on it because I'm in the pre-buying process for a Squier Mustang, not sure yet which sub-model (HH or SS or Classic-Vibe, etc). Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much! I’m just improvising. If you have the money I would lean towards the classic vibe. If you are a new player the getting the sonic model is less of a monetary risk. Humbucjers are great if you intend to play with fuzz or distortion. I hope that helps.
@@CV-qy5qi Hey thanks for your reply! Nice improvisation! Well I'm not new to guitar, but I'm at intermediate level. I like to play both clean tones (with FX) and fuzzy/heavy stuff. I wanted to try a short-scale guitar (smaller hands). Not sure if the Classic-Vibe is justified price-wise? Seems to be for the vintage style only (and the bridge type)? (sorry I don't have the specs in front of me to compare with the Sonic). Thanks again sir!
@@danserogermusic104I can recommend the sonic - I did have to do a bit of fret dressing to take off some rough ends - nothing you can’t do. Phillip McKight has great tutorials. For the price I am quite pleased.
@@CV-qy5qi Ok, will check that guy out, thanks!
Awesome guitar!!!
And effect
This is the best way to give yourself the grace and hope to go on and become more real more authentic and true.. it's a peace we find through the love of our beliefs in ourselves and everything ❤️🙏🏼 wonderful light 🕯️ is nice

I like it, it remeinds me of King Crimson. 10 EDO sounds major key and straight ahead, 22 EDO sounds slightly as if more minor key with a sense that some notes seem more "bent" downward hence somewhat deflated. BP sounds even more minor key and deflated than does 22 Equal. Rienhart has extra clarity and has a more major sound again like 10 Equal, individual notes seem to stand out better, so for me the best version is between 10 equal and Rienhart. 12 equal sounds louder than the others (why?) and seems on a par with 10 equal and Rienhart except that it is louder.
The 10-EDO has such a definite, strong sound. Think it suits the genre well.
Epic.. OMG monumental music 🎵🎶🎵 watching for the yellow snow ❄️🌨️❄️ .. I like that the field theory is broken.. (as it should be) sweet rift and the repeating of it there of .. just like the perfect fifths is not really perfect when extended it doesn't loop back into itself.. there is the imperfect opening.
I love it
@@HappyHermitt thank you!
I chose the black and now I'm feeling regretful. Those pickups sound so nice. I love clean playing.
This really highlights how much potential 10edo has especially for this kind of genre, it's got such a distinct sound
And if you duplicate a couple notes will map to a 12 equal keyboard nicely.
Chris this is quite nice. With the inching in delay repeats I was thinking this technique is much like chiseling away at something to reveal the final statue, work of art. Well done!
Thank you Jim! The analogy is fitting as the intention is to create moving sonic clouds of textures that evolve.
@@CV-qy5qi Intriguing ...! Do you ever start with a cloud of sounds, then selectively subtract (chisel away) some of them from the mix?
Love the van Gogh-like colourings and textures of the video footage! They're nIcely sympathetic with the music, too.
Thank you very much - I played the improvisation as I watched the video - it took a few starts before I found a sonic direction I felt fitting and liked. I call the technique "directed improvisation".
Great focus 😃
Wow 😲 the images and audio are so good together 😮
Very wonderful 😊
Thank you Bill!
😢 how?
With the emoji I'm not sure if your question is - "how can I (Chris) turn to AI assistance" or a "how did I (Chris) create this". Can you expand on your question?
@@CV-qy5qi How did you read my life so precisely? 😅
@@crushbrain2416 I see. At this point I'm not sure I can claim that level of credit. Its the two edge sword of AI that is built on the content of the internet - I asked ChatGPT to write lyrics that were dreamy, detached, and slightly surreal feel, with an ambiguous, drifting mood. It took several rounds of refinement to get to this. The music was based on a 60 second sample of this piece I wrote for electric cello and effects alonetone.com/vaisvil/tracks/re-entry And Suno sort of followed it.... It took a lot of iterations of extending the song Suno created to create the intro which are two outros combined in my DAW. And in fact the body of the song are two different takes spliced in at the first guitar solo. Again.... it is iffy how much credit I can take compared to when I write something all the way through. However, all the music Suno creates is based off of something a human created. So if this touches you it is probably more that this captures some of the zeitgeist of our current time. If there is any tendency I've noticed AI likes to provide the dystopian point of view.
Really great sounds and mixing together of the guitar and vocals.. the lyrics omg 😳 just so dystopia 2:45 great !! thanks for making this
Thanks for listening
The 15 Edo chords.. and the lyrics.. with the Dr office rendering and viewing it WOW such great avant-garde in process and in it's mixture.. the subject is just perfect ☺️
nice :) great effects on the guitar-- yeah
It's like a bunch of music groups are taking turns with the song.. this song is a great song of meaning and substance I think it's a really profound song over all..
Each song has really deep deep lyrics 😮.. these lyrics maintaining focus on the songs idea.. prompt..
Neat.. great 👍🏼 prompt abilities you have 😊
Just catching up to Geoshred. Do you still use it Chris? Nice sounds, nice playing!
This sounds so peaceful and beautiful
thank you!
15 gives it a real alien feel, that's hauntingly beautiful Did you round the original notes to the closest 15edo note, or did you tweak it by hand?
I changed a few notes by hand
Beautiful thank you
That drone like sounds is raga.. esk just gives this a India flavor and sense sweet sounds great 👍
Thank you!
Try udio...it produces much better music
Who me?

That green is awesome, was that a standard colour?
Yes, in fact it was the only color offered at the time of purchase.
@@CV-qy5qi Actually it is listed as a limited edition... They got sold out today. I have a yellow one. Plays nice so far.
@@doomwreckertelevision3527 I chose tge black but am now regretting that decision. I couldn't find a decent video of clean playing on the single coil.
@@HappyHermitt I have hated black guitars for 20 years at least. I wear too much black, wearing black and playing a black guitar, the guitar disapears.
@@HappyHermitt I got the SS version because it is closer to the orignial and I already have a bullet mustang that is HH. Normally I will play a strat or a SG. Having different body shapes around is nice tho.
I have same one, green, rosewood style fretboard, mine plays well after some setup work.
An amazing value overall!
