You are giving some good advice. Nice. 1. It is probably not good to use your phone in public. Use it somewhere no one can see you. 2. I don't even like eating at people's homes I know little of. Some people may not be so sanitary. 3. Yes, some people will charge you more if they think you're not from the country. Sometimes your own family will charge you extra too.

Liberia is very expensive to travel to. Expect to spend around $500 a month, not including where you will stay (apartment/hotel). Maybe more if you do extra things in the country. I always go over budget. Always bring extra money. 1. Yes, bring pills for diarrhea. It will help so much. 2. You have to be very careful eating street food. It can be dangerous. 3. Yes, many people will beg for money. Sometimes, I may carry around $20 or $30 in 1 dollar bills. Passing out some money occasionally. I didn't know they get paid once every six months or once a year. Wow. I usually give a couple of dollars to the guy who takes my luggage to the car. 4. It is best to carry around cash even if you have a debit card.
