Is the Distortion in your speakers? You might need to decrease the level sensitivity on the amplifier.

What is your source? USB, Spotify? what tracks are you playing? I ask because Spotify, amazon, etc have volume normalization that knocks it down

@@kewlbug Bluetooth , but when I max out the level from 0-6 I get closer to the 4 v but crazy distortion at 28 volume. Bass is lacking. Now the gain on the amp is under 1/4 and clipping on anything higher. I had it setup with 3/4 gain on amp before which is about where I want it for box rise. I usually use Spotify but I’m getting a usb. Normalization had been fixed prior

@@kewlbug well the excelon 807s I think it is, has 4 v preamps. I can only get 2.3 at full 40 clicks, with sub level at max 10. Input source offset doesn’t change numbers at all. This is also with a flat eq. I set gains at 32 out of 40 and I still have some wiggle room. I did not go up to clip light, I matched gains with a multimeter. Now I understand to set the eq first, and then gains. Which way is right? It sounds phenomenal, but if I did not do everything to a T then that means there is room for overall improvement.

Unfortunately no. I'm still using the 149bt here. I don't want a big stupid touch screen. either 149 bluetooth/CD/USB or I have a Fiio K3 to run Digital straight from my iphone to Helix DSP.

Yes I had one in another vehicle years back Now I have another older vehicle and would like CDE-175bt . I just want a single CD and Bluetooth. Alpine makes nice equipment

@joseph puchel I'm in the same situation. Recently alpine and all other haven't been making any good single din. I have a cde148bt, cda9886, and prs80. But I'm looking for a 149bt...lol

I'm not sure how to explain it fully, but once you see you will get it. If you see my measurements from the bass engine, the boost has a center freq around 80hz, it then shifts to 60hz at the higher levels. i.imgur.com/Skg1F22.png The high boost is like 10khz center. The width is just that, a wider area affected, or more narrow. Search parametric EQ, and DSP setup, you might see what the eq bands do. Personally, I wouldn't touch them without seeing what the car looks like with REW and a Calibrated microphone. Or I would fully tune the car with a DSP and only use that 3 band eq for personal taste.

I decided Bass engine's not made for someone with a decent system.. like who wants a boost at 70-80hz? Also, the first step is already +10db! like woah. If it was easier to get to the Sub output, I might have kept it.

Got the 149BT right now, was looking at the 175BT but Not sure if it's even better than my 149BT. I hear they are coming out w a new line soon. explains why 175 is only $220 now

Close, if you tap the brakes mid air the nose will pitch down letting you set up for a smoother landing. The tires are carrying some inertia as they spin. When you slow them with brakes, that energy transfers to the car, pitching it forward.

@@kewlbug Yeah, Now I get it. Stopping the wheels you're stopping the transfered rotation, as in that trick with a bike wheel and a rotating stool, I guess. Now I wonder if reversing the movement suddenly will generate momentum enough to lift the nose again... kinda GTA style. Thks 4 the answer!!

@@medinachete73 Hitting the throttle, yes, can bring the nose up (a little). It's not as dramatic as hitting brakes to nose down.

Kewlbug Dang this track was exactly what I was looking for. I was at Silverbowl yesterday but the jumps were too big and not properly spaced. If you don’t clear the jumps you smash head on into the next jump (at silverbowl)

Everything carpet indoor off road is 1/10. On road mostly 1/10 with a few smaller classes as well.

your manufacturers website should have setup sheets for carpet tracks. generally stiffer springs, lower ride height, and gear diff is a must.

Thx@@kewlbug. The problem is that i run Maverick Timberwolf (its rather low budget chassis ;) ) , and its really hard to find any tips on setup for this particular SC for carpet. So i am kind of experimenting. Here in Poland SC are not so popular, therefore i am looking at you guys much more experienced with setup SC. So any info reg. shock oil (ie. i use 900 cst front, 800 cst rear), as hard springs as i could get, for diffs i use like 200k front - 1 mln middle - 200k rear. Shumachers mini-pins (rear) and mini-spikes (front) with stripped pins and glueing (due to big traction and rolls). I realize that your truck construction is different, but an info like how low you set up for carpet, or about your chassis travel (up-down), any tips on preparing shocks. I also realize that it depends on track layout, jumps, corners, grip etc.. But if there is any general rule you follow when you start your setup for carpet. What i observed is that your SCs seems quite stiff. Sorry if i lame and Thanks in advance ;)

I think its "closed" right now. but it's still there. Always rumors of starting up. I think insurance is the kicker. Not enough racers around to make it worth it.
