Hey guys I know it’s been a while but here some of the stuff I’ve been up to for anyone who’s still interested. This was my first ever show as a feature (2/11/2023) and all the songs are originals (except for wayfaring stranger that one is very much a cover). Huge thanks to the people who came to see me play and the people who played with me. Hopefully more uploads soon.

So, the other day i was listening to billie eilish’s newest release Happier Than Ever. And as I sat in my intellectual chair, I had what one might call an intellectual thought. Hmmm, you know this reminds me of something, I pondered intellectually. The honest open vulnerability. lyrics that depict the sad reality of unhealthy relationships. The thoughts of uncertainty towards the future and fee...

WHAT'S THE NEW MARY JANE IS A HOT MESS
Переглядів 2,8 тис.2 роки тому
John Lennon began working on What’s The New Mary Jane back in 1968 during the making of the white album. This was around the same time as Revolution 9, another one of the Beatles most experimental pieces. But, unlike revolution 9, Mary Jane and her Yeti never made it onto the album. 0:00 Happy Halloween 1:02 Background 2:45 Inspiration 3:58 The Song 6:16 Closing Statement

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGE: My Top 10 Favorite George Harrison Beatles Songs
When I bought the white album I fell asleep listening to it to wake up suddenly in the dark to "Number 9....NUMBER 9...number 9...my hair raised and shivers all over me it scared the daylights out of me! Never listened to it for years but I now recognise it as a deliberate measured work of art.
W is for WOMAN IS NNNNNNNN

this video is shorter than revolution 9
Wtf thus song is sick. Like a psychopath.
you need to update this with now & then
Some small corrections: 1. Abbey Road was not The Beatles last album, that was Let It Be 2. The laugh by Paul is actually his response to John Lennon storming out the recording session.
Let it be was recorded before abbey road
@themusicmaniac1586 Fair enough, but release dates are more important imo
Im teaching my kids the alphabet with this😭
The track on Anthology 3 is NOT the original version from 1968. It originally sounded more deranged with a lot of shouting and screaming, Yoko's wailing, and loud ringing bells. It got remixed out of existence by former Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick in 1984 for the aborted 'Sessions' album. The altered version came out in '96 but the original still has no official release, not even on the White Album's 50th Anniversary box set in 2018

I discovered it 2 weeks ago! And I’m Canadian! And I’m 51! And it’s starting change my life.
I lost my virginity to this song.............twice
It’s kinda funny how this video is shorter than the song they’re talking about 💀
S is for SHADDUP
oh please
"Enough, I won't let you talk badly about Ringo!!"
I bought the white album when it first came out & a couple of friends and i did some Orange Sunshine acid and listened to it. The songs made so much more sense then. What a great time the 60's were! Beatles music will be played everywhere forever!`😮
What a waste of polyvinyl chloride. There was plenty of real estate on the double album to have included Hey Jude instead. John was trying to devise an exit strategy and this was like a hand grenade tossed into this thing called 'The Beatles.' They all acted out in weird ways to express their personal repression. Ringo got mad and left, George got pissed at Paul, and our Johnny insisted on putting this turd on the album. Thier frustration just came out in different ways.
1:56... But it's so easy to pronounce... & I haven't taken French in over 30 years.
What a load of bullshit. There's some really interesting music going on during Maxwell and esp. at the end. This video is a hot mess. Crap like Run For Your Life and I Want You (She's Boring as Hell) are hot messes, buster.
LMFAO WHAT
I made a reorganized and shorten version of The Beatles White Album if anyone is curious ua-cam.com/play/PLSHBAF6mcM6X0S3vJudxXA9wDq1R1dQl8.html&si=SdZ_Wb5x_ccYV7Ai
I bet it would be right after Bungalow Bill (they're both "storical" songs) to open up While My Guitar Gently Weeps with the abrupt "Before we get taken awa-"
Your video is beautiful too
Agree totally. It will mean different things to different people, but it does take us on a trip, and it jogs memories from life, and the title itself I think alludes more to cycles, than the upheaval meaning of the word. The revolving of the tapes in making it, it also cycle of life, or the eastern philosophy as opposed to the linear western Christian philosophy. And the double meaning of everything being a cycle interspersed with disruptive events, which are just parts of the cycle. Lennon was just playing around with these new tools and toys, but used his musical genius to make something out of it. Which is really no different than most other songs are created, where you start with a piece of lyric, a melody fragment, or stumble onto a riff that you develop into a finished piece. It may sound like random noise to the casual listener, but it has a rhythm, it has motion, and a structure, but one needs to listen with open ears to catch it. Those who dismiss it as trash or noise aren't necessarily wrong though. To them that's what it is, and music is personal and subjective.
mmt is somehow more conhesive than sgt peppers despite not even being concieved as a record. i also just think mmt beats sgt peppers on amount of great songs. Fool on the hill, Walrus, Hello Goodbye, Penny Lane, Strawberry fields, All u need is love. they all sounds pretty similar in vibe and instrumentation
I actually think it's my favourite.
The critique of Paul McCartney writing "granny music" was well-founded. His songs were mostly dumb, but then he did "Yesterday" and "Maybe I'm Amazed," so he gets a pass.
1:07 NO! JON! NO!
Revolution 9 is a masterpiece in its own way. But it works best when you don't listen to it regularly.
Its strange that all of the new comments have 1 like on them
Very well done analysis of such an amazing album! 🥰
well there's no way possible you can call this a "song". what is it? well there's lots of technology now where you can play it backwards and isolate the tracks or whatever, there's enough material there to keep you busy for hours. lots of people have theories on it, try some of these things and see what you come up with!
It's interesting
Btw Paul sang drive my car not john
Where are you?
When the review for the song is shorter than the song 💀💀💀
Heard it when i was 14, 1979. Loved it. If you dont get it, what don't you get? Listen to some music. Learn some history. Find out what the world was doing to itself in 1968. It sounds like that.
This song should honestly be a movie to be fair
Always liked "What's the New Mary Jane" because of just how far gone it gets. It gets so spaced out, it's creepy as hell, and there's this very dark yet very serene undertone to it. No wonder Robert Christigau (a fantastic critic, you should check him out!) refers to it as one of the two "choice cuts" of Anthology 3.
Weird Al says this song was part of his inspiration to create parody songs.
You’re far too young to understand the Beatles and 68 in the audacity of Lennon release this.
Garbage. 💣 Typical Beatles noise. 💣💣
Didn't John Lennon say something like 'Avant-garde is French for shite'? 😮
C is for.. "COME ON YER CUNT!"
Great video. This is why the Beatles White Album is their greatest achievement. Two Virgins was released in 1968. Revolution #9’s origins started with Revolution 1, Take 20. It’s such a great track. Paul did a similar track the year before, A Carnival of Light, which is still unfortunately unreleased. Listen to Revolution #9 with headphones at 3am, it will blow your mind.

Well to be honest between these 2 great Beatles albums I much prefer listening to Magical Mystery Tour more often than Sgt.Pepper?, some of the songs on Sgt.Pepper are great but I'm not very keen on hearing "She's Leaving Home", "Within You Without You" or "When I'm 64" very much compare to all the great songs on Magical Mystery Tour?, honestly when it comes to greatest album of all time I reckon The White Album & Abbey Road are definitely much greater than Sgt.Pepper??, the way both THOSE albums are recorded stands out far better & greater than Sgt.Pepper for not only The Beatles but also as in the category of all-time greatest albums?, if l had to decide between The White Album or Abbey Road as greater than Sgt.Pepper it would be Abbey Road... definitely!!
There's a three minute edit that I think is the version John wanted as a single you can find on bootleg I now prefer to the Anthology 3 version. It's like take 1 from the White Album box but with some of the weird sound collage stuff from the Anthology 3 version.
