Filmmaking took me on an unforgettable adventure to the Benin Republic for the Voodun festival, where I discovered the profound impact of Yoruba culture on Voodoo practices in West Africa.
I was fascinated by how Yoruba Orishas and traditions have shaped the religion, and how it is a vital part of the region's spiritual identity. This experience not only expanded my knowledge but also humbled me, challenging my assumptions and leaving me with a newfound thoughts about diversity of Yoruba culture and its influence on Voodoo in West Africa.
I can't wait to share with you all what I plan to explore with my new findings. Very soon.
