Переглядів 1062 роки тому
I understand that this is the most reasonably priced FDM 3-D printer available for a consumer price for this size ( 500 mm x 500 mm x 500 mm), with the primary shortcoming as the lack of auto bed leveling, a nightmare with the narrow ranged height adjustment and tension hardware, the equipment requires the purchase of third party bed heaters to actually use the space of the bed.

We have 3D printers, and have used them to master some parts, but for the vacuum metallizing process we have specific materials and gloss smooth surfaces required to achieve this level of reflectivity. 3D printers are definitely a useful tool in the arsenal, but can't replace these base materials, at least yet.

I'm not arguing with the craftsmanship of this prop, but it's an abomination from an abomination of a TV show. The comic and the original Witchblade gauntlet from it are superior. The Witchblade TV show is the absolute worst imagining of a comic that I've ever seen.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It’s clear that the Witchblade universe evokes strong opinions, and it’s completely valid to hold the original comic in such high regard. The comic’s artistry and storytelling have undoubtedly set a high standard, and many feel that adaptations don’t always capture the essence that made the original work so compelling. When it comes to props and craftsmanship, they exist within a unique space. These pieces often embody the hard work, dedication, and creativity of the artists who bring them to life, regardless of the source material. While the TV show’s interpretation might not resonate with everyone, the care and skill that go into crafting props-like this gauntlet-are a testament to the talent within the industry. In the broader scope of creative work, the sum of all parts can sometimes lead to mixed results, and that’s part of what makes the creative industry so challenging and interesting. Every adaptation, whether loved or critiqued, is an exploration and a tribute to the original material. Creators and artisans pour their passion into their work, striving to honour the essence of the source material, even if the final product doesn’t always meet everyone’s expectations. This dedication to craftsmanship is what keeps the creative world thriving, constantly evolving, and open to new interpretations. Even when a particular adaptation doesn’t hit the mark for some, it’s still a valuable part of the ongoing dialogue between creators and fans.
What a throwback! I remember seeing this so long ago, great prank, haha! xDDD
@@SomethingNowhereMan thank you, yes, a very early prank show segment that has had many follow it.
Would you mind messaging me how much you charge for these?
Thanks for your interest. I have a full wraith PDF catalogue that I can share if you write to me scott@kropserkel.com . Finished gauntlets (WK or NAZ) are $295US/pair on leather gauntlet gloves, or $125US for the kit. Sabatons are $150US finished, or $75US for the kit. Suuper 👾🤖👽
This is the real deal😱
Simply STUNNING!
Shoes and boots with extraordinarily long pointy toes were quite the fad in the 14th and 15th centuries. Knights often wore correspondingly large armor over them if medieval illustrations are true. Probably a grave tactical error if they had to fight on the ground. The origin of “death before dismount” perhaps?
Right!? It is my understanding that the original intention of the elongated toe in the sabatons was to keep their feet in the stirrups, giving them the ability to lose the downward force without 'unthreading' the needle. Agreed that this didn't translate well to locomotion on food once dismounted!
Did Shaq commission these?!
Ha! Not Shaq on these, but they would probably fit him!

I get a lot of eye rolling at home. Thanks for the warm validation.
How was the original "red eye" done? The LED array doesn't look the same...
Great question, and a keen eye, but there are considerations given the format you're viewing the video. The original 78 Cylon helmets used an array of incandescent bulbs, which took up the entire indented eye slot, created tortuous heat, and would run for 20 minutes before needing to recharge a heavy camera belt battery that had to be incorporated into the costume design to help conceal them. On the nostalgic side, the eye sweep incandescent bulbs make is very fluid, and smooth as one bulb becomes bright in the sweep, another slowly fades behind it. This effect was further translated by the 35mm film format they used to shoot the original show. Our eye unit is a string of LEDs and a thick diffusion plate in order to help blend the digital sweep. Aided by a faster running sweep pattern, the movement becomes less digital. There are also 4 programs that run on this digital eye unit, unlike the original arrays, using a programmable chip one of the programs is the Red Eye targeting mode.
Awesome! I would love to purchase one. These Cylon Centurion helmets take me back to my childhood memories. I was a big fan of that original series from 1978.
You are not alone! I would be happy to set you up. If you would like to write to me scott@kropserkel.com, I can provide you with one of our PDF catalogs that covers the details. Lots of people would like to make their childhood dreams come true, and these do tick a box for those in this range where BSG icons become tangible

Horror is a 365, 24/7 sentiment to be embraced!
Excellent. What was the pile of pixels that the Cylon picked up from the trash can? Is there a joke there? Churs.
Sorry for the low res, old video quality disabling the identification of items in the video. I found a bagged bologna sandwich, a good find, but otherwise useless to a Cylon.

Loved this! Now, I'm prompted to get introspective as to why I'm doing this. You may have hit pretty close to the mark on this. Thanks for your wit, you've given me hope!
@@lekk “In his weakened state, it was possible that Kropserkel did not even foresee the ominous implications of his work. For if he succeeded in bringing life back to the hulking Cylon form, what would be the massive centurion’s first act? He was born for no other purpose; to destroy humans. His first act, therefore, would quite probably be to kill Kropserkel.”
