The most important thing is cutting straight thru at the 1 to 7 orientation to maximize power. The more horizontal the cut or the more curvature added (like Hasan's tendency to start at 1 but curve at the end), these decrease the power of your swing and/or result in the sword not going going straight thru (more resistance to the cut). All in all, pretty cool stream to watch, makes me want to try it too!
