Pete Blecha, PNW Music Historian
“The book that needed to be written, by the guy who needed to write it!!! What a huge undertaking and accomplishment.”
Tom Robinson, Wipers soundman 1978-1985:
“….sheds a great deal of detail into the Wipers legacy…staggering amount of show detail…”
Jack Rabid, editor and publisher of The Big Takeover magazine:
“Wow what an undertaking!…awesome…”
Karl Braun, co-administrator of the PNW Music Archives Facebook group:

Garry Velletri, Brain Eater Records
“I’ve learned so much about Greg and Wipers. Electric Medicine is an almost exhausting, detailed account of Wipers within the context of the era's local and national music scene. Certainly brings back a lot of memories. And I learned for the first time what the sequence of events were after I left Braineater for EMI.”

Part I of a soundboard tape of a complete live Jayne County show that was recorded on Monday June 6, 1988 at the Vogue nightclub in Seattle, WA. It was originally a two-sided cassette tape that’s now been digitized into two files. The whole show featured only 13 tracks total, but it took 77 minutes to play them with all the hilarious, ribald stage banter, costume changes. 9 of the 13 tracks app...

Napalm Beach Live on New Year's Eve 1985 at the Satyricon in Portland, OR.

On New Year's Eve 1985 Napalm Beach played the Satyricon club in Portland, OR. Their 60 minute set of 12 songs was recorded with a sound board cassette tape. The vocals and drums are crystal clear, but the guitars are a bit low in the mix. The setlist is remarkable for several reasons. It includes an Untouchables song, "Caveman Go," which were rarely performed live by Napalm Beach after the ban...

On Monday June, 6, 1988 Jayne County played one live show at the Vogue nightclub in Seattle, WA backed by an all-star cast of local musicians that included Paul Solger on guitar, Kim Warnick on bass, and Criss Crass (aka Chris Utting) on drums. That show was documented with photographs and a flyer that are included in this video. In January 2015 it was suddenly announced that there had been a l...
Napalm Beach, "Thunder Lizard," Track 1 title track to the 1991 Thunder Lizard album.

"Thunder Lizard" (1991), recorded in Dusseldorf, Germany, was arguably the best studio album Napalm Beach ever made, but few of their fans in the U.S. ever got to hear it since it was only released in Germany. Since the German record label has gone out of business and the artist is now deceased, I see no copyright violation in sharing it here. I've ripped five of the best tracks from an origina...

37 years later I finally have a complete copy of the still unreleased 1983 Ten Minute Warning demos. This is the five-piece 1983 lineup of Ten Minute Warning with Duff McKagan and Paul Solger on guitars, Greg Gilmore on drums, Steve “Swad” Verwolf on vocals, and David Garrigues on bass. There had been a different lineup in late 1982, and there was another lineup in 1984, both of which also reco...

The Post-Punk Missing Link between Hardcore and Grunge, featuring past members of Solger and the Fartz, and future members of Skinyard, Mother Love Bone and Guns N' Roses. Stone Gossard has said that seeing Ten Minute Warning play live inspired him to become a musician. Paul Solger went on to play with the Fags and Jayne County, and wrote songs for Grunge pioneers Green River (Rehab Doll) and Mark Lanegan (Because of This). For a brief two-year period from the end of 1982 to the end of 1984 Ten Minute Warning were the kings of the Seattle music scene. The lineup with Swad on vocals went into the studio several times and recorded enough material for at least one full album and an E.P., but the expected record deal fell through and for 32 years these have never been released. The 1998 Sub-Pop LP "reunion" lineup featured a different singer and for some reason chose not to re-record or release any of the material from their 1983-1984 demos, opting instead for mostly new material and one throw back to the much more hardcore November 1982 Survival of the Fittest demo/cassette only release that still featured Blaine Cook of the Fartz on vocals. So these great 1983-1984 recordings are still gathering dust. The unheard music.
