Hello everyone, my name is Riki and welcome to my rail related UA-cam Channel. I am based in Northland but also film in regions such as Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and sometimes King Country & Ruapehu in New Zealand! My photo camera is a Canon EOS 70D and my video camera is a Sony FDR-AX53.

The Northland Railscene (Summer 2025)
On the Tuesday 28th January 2025, I headed over to Whangarei for the day to catch some of my local KiwiRail Action.
I started off the day by chasing the L1 Shunt hauled by DC's 4594 & 4853 before heading south to chase 120 hauled by DL9567 & DC4058 back up to Whangarei. After 120 arrived in Whangarei they swapped DC4853 out for DC4058 on the L1 Shunt with DC4594. I then chased the L1 Shunt again up to Kauri and back before chasing 129 hauled by DL9567 & DC4853 down to Topuni.

DC4818's first Mainline Excursion! (4K)

On Tuesday 5th November 2024. DC4818 led it's first mainline excursion along side DBR1254 as part of the Glenbrook Vintage Railway's East & West Railtour. We chased it on it's first day of the tour which it ran from Glenbrook to Papakura, and then Papakura to Ohakune. Last week we filmed Tranz Rail DC4853 and KiwiRail DC4467 on the M52 Shunt between Tatuanui and Ruakura after picking up wagons from Waitoa. Also included are Trains 491, 322, 325, & GC4. Enjoy the video!

KiwiRail Trains on the Midland Line (Winter 2024)

During mid July 2024, we headed down and captured KiwiRail working hard on the Midland Line. This videos not only features many DXC's on the Coal Trains but also a Solo DFB on the Tranz Alpine which is a very rare sight. Also sorry about the audio in the first half of the video my Rode Microphone was having issues so I had to use the internal microphone for most of the video. Enjoy the video!

Return of Steam to the Bay Of Islands Vintage Railway (4K)

On Sunday 27th August 2023, we headed down to the Bay Of Islands Vintage Railway to capture Gabriel running in her full glory as she did before restoration. Also in the video is the extension to Lone Cow rather than terminating at Taumarere. This is also the first video using my new Sony FDR-AX53 Video Camera. All videos from now onwards will be filmed in 4K. Enjoy the video!

In July 2023, we saw KiwiRail Freight Services around the Waikato. This video also features a rare DC/DL combo on M52 Shunts. This will be the last video filmed by my Panasonic HC-V385 Camcorder. All my future videos will be filmed with a 4K Sony FDR-AX53 Handycam. Enjoy the video!
