That was a lot of fun to watch, thanks! The Silver Mercedes looks like a 560 SEL. The paint on the black Mercedes looks like it was repainted and end up with orange peel. The Saab motors are mounted backwards, which is pretty neat. The carburetor that GM used was the Rochester Quadrajet. Very versatile, they have mechanical secondaries but had a second set of butterfly valves over the secondary valves to smooth out throttle response and prevent bogging when the secondaries opened, so they wouldn't need a second accelerator pump. They could also restrict airflow (basically lowering the CFM) for use on smaller engines.

Amazing so many old 50's-70's cars there, I guess lots of old farmers and the families cleaning out the farm and call the junk yard,sad though..In the 80's and 90's when I was a teen the junkyards made me sad lol..I used to make a killing buying engines/trans rear diffs and selling them in the classifieds..We had a cheap junkyard and I made thousands per year,great added tax free income when a teen/early 20's..Around here the late 90's most older cars dried up here in the junk yards..

At this point I Pull U Pull should just sponsor your Mustang 😂 Last year I donated my 1998 Subaru Legacy GT to this same yard! Someone bought it eventually because I saw it driving around Edmonton. Steve Magnante would be proud!

Me and my brother back in the day use to go buy old muscle cars... from the junk yard fix EM and drive them home....Way before Cell phone Internet UA-cam etc.. The best of times.... I've bought some real collectibles..... Once a Comet Gt 64 289 HI-PO...had factory rev-kit..9" Detroit locking rear.. Aluminum 4 speed....and the factory tachometer on the column.... complete.... Even a 67 SS Chevelle factory SBC rare...327 car....

I sadly had to get a new exhaust built for my I6 pony and now is super silent, the cheapest resonator I could find pretty much silenced car, I miss my basically Manifold downpipe straight exhaust loud roar lol

I'm seeing a lot of blue ovals in your yard !!! I used to be a hard core Ford Fan back in the day. Mavericks and comets from 70 to 73 are my favorites. The newest fords I ever owned were a 1981 cougar XR 7 . I know, it's actually a mercury. So were all the comets I had. The newest real Ford was an 82 mustang. They didn't call it a fox body back then. Just a mustang... All of the newer Fords are junk. I lost track of how many motors I put in escapes. Then they all come back complaining about all of the other problems they had before the motor crapped out. They seem to think that a new motor is going to make the brakes or even the transmission like new again too...

The 79 mustang 4 cylinder was a 100 hp about the turbocharged was a 144 hp The 200 six cylinder valves were smaller than the 170 cid get parts before 1972 as all engines were detoured vintage 60s mustangs had aftermarket proformancen parts available some are still available

You don’t need a ECU to run the turbo, and with that turbo you need to run an external wastegate, for a stock engine the 47mm will do fine you got lots to learn on force induction

lol This is not a race car. This an econobox. You couldn’t even beat my 1981 vw rabbit pickup diesel with a tdi swap. My 1.9 tdi makes 150hp and 260tq. My truck weighs 1750lbs. And it gets 75mpg. I dated a girl who reminded me of you. When we met she had a fox body mustang. And I had a 68vw beetle with dual carbs. And it could out top speed the fox body I did a lot of car stuff for her. Car girlfriends can be fun together more than alone. But your car is nowhere near a wrx lol You couldn’t even beat a automatic brz

I think the ideal turbo size is in between the two you have there. If you're choosing, I'd go for the smaller one. The bigger one could kill your speed lower in the rev band, where these old iron American engines like to live. You'd also need to build in an external wastegate which is extra expense and complication. Blowing through the carburettor with an electric fuel pump sounds good though. Put a return fuel system on it, and an electronic fuel regulator should do the job nicely. The intake air temperature will also drop a lot as it passes through the carb and the heat is used to atomise the fuel, so you can probably do without an intercooler.
