A new hobby has entered the chat! As if I didn't have enough random hobbies, rock tumbling and fossicking is now one of them. Near where we live is a beach with jasper and other gorgeous stones that is a designated fossicking zone and...well...it happened ^__^

Lot's of interesting rocks.
Thanks! I've done more since filming this and the variety is amazing :)
Beautiful results! I never really gave any thought into what the rock tumbling process entails, but it was very cool to see.
Thank you! It is a very satisfying process and you get pretty, shiny rocks at the end...what's not to love?
This is so inspiring, thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
THIS IS AWESOME, I love the total look, the armour under the surcoat and the runes on the sword. You did such a great job with adding in detail and the total look at 19:55 is great, like it could be the book cover. Also finding the bells, I have to mention them, I could never quite visualise how they sat as a bandola and you made it so well.
Thank you! I am pretty proud of it, despite the much-needed upgrades, and we got some awesome photos. Haha same with the bells, when you start thinking about it it's a kind of weird thing but I liked my take on it.
Congratulations :D And all the best for the time to come, it sounds like a lot!
Thank you so much!
yesss!! Congrats to 500 subs!! and happy 6 Years :D
Thank you!! 😁
Ooooh Lolita sewing??? I want to make a heart apron too!!
Too many ideas and not enough time! OMG yes heart aprons are adorable, please show me if you do!
So is this technically making it a cosplay if I bought the store bought items and assembling it like sewing pieces together for it, I am using a body suit as a base for it cause for the sake of my life I cant sew a bodysuit at all
Be comfortable is good be yourself is good as well.
Absolutely!
OMG now I want to do Nanny Ogg, complete with a Greebo! Though I'm more of an age with Weatherwax. :p
@@EFergDindrane ahhhhh you totally need to!
Working on my 2nd cosplay ever! I’m doing a take on Eurydice from Hadestown. I’m planning to assemble it, here’s what I’m thinking. Hat-I already have a hat like hers. I absolutely love it, all good there Hair-I have long blonde curly hair, she has short black/brown hair. I could get a wig. This is an interpretation, so I could leave my hair as is. I also might cut my hair short anyway, so that could work. Shirt-I have a white tee that could work. I’d love something more distressed with a linen like fabric. That made be hard to find because I’m petite-plus and I’d probably need to thrift it Overalls-I still need this. Hoping for black ones with cargo details. I have a 25 inch inseam, so I need to be really careful that they aren’t too long Shoes-I have the perfect shoes. The only issue is, I took the insoles out to fit my orthodic inserts. I can’t wear those for long, it hurts my feet. I need to get a new insole for those shows or get new shoes if I get an event opportunity. New shoes might be hard. I need distressed black ankle boots. I am a kids size three, or a woman’s size five. I can never find shoes like that in my size. I got so lucky with those. Jacket-I’d love a deep red ripped denim jacket, or something very similar. That’s very specific. I might have to get one that isn’t ripped and rip it myself Props-I want a red flower like the one on the playbill. I can probably find one at a crafts store. Can’t wait to make this cosplay! Any tips as a fellow non-skinny girl or as someone with more cosplay experience than me?
Sounds like you have a really solid handle on what you need for this cosplay, good on you! I'm not familiar with the character or Hadestown, but I think you're on the right track with thrifting/modifying items. Overalls you should be able to hem up if they're too long, and perhaps for the jacket you could try dying a regular pale denim jacket? Not that I've ever dyed anything myself... The red flower also sounds like a great prop/
Congrats Roli :)
Thank you!
It's quite cute, and somehow it looks really cosy
It was surprisingly warm actually!
I love the simple high impact pieces in your coords! I also don’t think there is anything wrong with wearing your clothes and having fun. I think you can invest as much as you’d like into the style which means you can amp it up as high as you like, or as long as you like what you’re wearing. At the end of the day lolita fashion is a hobby, so engaging with it in a way you enjoy is important!
Thank you!
Your self-awareness levels about your style are pretty bang on, I also would’ve said simplicity, comfort, and multiple bow or flower hair clips. And you’re totally right in that what makes it work is the fact that you have all of this knowledge and experience TO make it work, it’s not just throwing random pieces together. I feel like I could probably have a stab at creating an Inspired by Roli coord, but only the people who know you would recognise it as such because it isn’t a very loud and in-your-face version of lolita fashion. All of that being said, I also think of you as one of the champions for bittersweet - you wear it very well and are making it work in a way that doesn’t feel so hell bent on proving a point.
Thank you, glad to hear it rings true ^__^ Haha also spot on about the bittersweet...all my black things have been in storage for over a year but I will admit I've been eyeing off some black/pink items lately that i know I really should get...but want to!
My name is Lolita, do you know that it means ‘strong woman’ or ‘strong tower’. There is a lot negative connotation associated with that name which I think is a shame. I like my name, my father gave me that name😊
It is an absolutely beautiful name, thank you for sharing its meaning with me.
Good job James! And Roli, of course😜 Fantastic cosplay! I love that you made it despite not feeling ready for it. It’s tough, but when thinking about it, when will you ever feel completely ready for something… Anyways it looks so good in the photos😍 It would have been interesting to see the cosplay in action, especially with the bells and sword, but maybe another time😊
You made James laugh and be very happy, he says thank you. And so do I! Once I get her out of storage and do a few fixes I totally want to do some cinematic filming for her...but it is surprisingly hard to do cool bell stuff lol :)
I love dresses with lots of lace, big bonnets, fancy parasols and etc, hime lolita is defitaly a substyle i want to wear someday!
Go for it! Sounds like it ticks all your boxes :)
14:49 "Dads Garden"? :o Wow, it looks like out of a fairytale😍 This was nostalgic, I love the 2000-2012 emo photo aesthetic🙈 You look so natural in photos, it's something that I already thought when I saw your cosplay photoshoots! If you want to film a video on tips and tricks for photoshoots, I could really need it😅 I rarely feel or look confident and good in photos, I have like an inner tension that is hard to shake off.
Yeah, Dad's old place was pretty spectacular (so is the current one though, he's a very good gardener). And thank you! I'm lucky that modelling has always come pretty easily to me, but will put a "tips and tricks" video on the to-film list.
Thats good look on you great taste im william can you send me a text please 1:56
Thank you, I couldn't find it.
You're very welcome, glad this helped!
For the longest time I wanted my first cosplay to be Princess Hilda from The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, but some parts of her outfit made me decide that I want my first cosplay to be a different character. I immediately knew I wanted to do a Junko Enoshima cosplay (based on her appearance in Danganronpa 3: Despair Arc)! I have been looking at her main outfit in detail, even looking carefully at pictures of her to find out how long (or tall? idk) her heels are (they seem to be about 7 cm)! I also noticed a few differences between how she looks in the games vs how she looks in the anime (like her skirt being just red and the lack of her former high school's symbol on her sleeves)! I also rolled up my skirt to be about the same length as hers to see how comfortable I am in it (let's just say I love wearing it like that, but outside if I felt uncomfortable or unsafe I definitely would need to be able to unroll it, so my skirt for that cosplay will have to be about the same length as the skirt I am wearing right now, which goes down to a little above my knees)! I also found out that the red things on her bra are little roses! It will require a lot of knowledge and skill to make it look as good as I want it to be, but I have the time to learn those because I am planning to start HRT hopefully this year or the next year, and I don't want to make a cosplay like hers in case my body changes enough for the cosplay to be too small or too big because oh my god it's gonna be a lot of work (I will even be modifying a bra a little for it)! I also know now for sure what shirt she is wearing under the cardigan (? (that's what the fan wiki called it)), so now I know that it I feel uncomfortable in public while wearing that cosplay (which would make sense because her chest shows a bit. Junko said in her artbook: "it's less "you can see" and more "I'm showing you".", so that's probably enough info to know just how much is shown there (if me mentioning how the bra looks isn't enough lol), so now I know I would be able to just button that shirt up if I felt uncomfortable! Also, my plans would be to wear it to an event, but mostly just to wear it just because I feel like it, but inside the house and outside even when doing something like just groceries! lol That's all I really have to say about that! I'm really excided and I really wanna start learning to sew at some point, and maybe if I am really lucky with HRT (which with a lot of stuff I have been lucky) then maybe I will be shorter and around Junko's height (my height right now is something I really don't like and I heard some people got 1-3 inches shorter after starting HRT, but it seems to be rare, so I don't know lol)! Anyway, this is probably a really long comment already so I will stop now! Also, please let me know if I should edit my comment to remove or change anything (like mentions of her chest or bra for example, because I can see how that might be too much info)!
I guess I will also add here another difference! I will just copy my notes about the boots here! "Mid-sized black boots with platform heels and red laces. The heels seem like they are about 7 cm. According to my older sibling they don't seem difficult to walk in when looking at the picture of DR3 Junko, but when looking at the DR1 pictures of her my older sibling says they look difficult to walk in (or as Mukuro said "An accident waiting to happen")."
I love how much thought and planning you've already put into this cosplay (and like, 10/10 for testing your comfort level with the outfit pieces). Hope the cosplay goes well for you!
ooh the layout of your capsule wardrobe is so pretty it makes me wanna do one with my lolita wardrobe! it’s nice to see someone working with a tiny amount of pieces - i have a pretty minimal lolita wardrobe too and sometimes it can feel super isolating to compare yourself to other lolitas who have a huge collection!
Thank you and you absolutely should do one for your wardrobe, I find it both inspiring and helpful as reference :)
That's a lovely capsule wardrobe, I can see so many coords you can make with it! I also really like that red fabric.
Thank you! I think I've got some decent options and yes, that red fabric is lovely - I couldn't leave the shop without it, it's just such a perfect floral.
I'm not really interested in lolita fashion so I have no idea why this was reccomended to me, but this was so fun to watch! Good luck living with your mini-wardrobe for the time being :)
Algorithms are weird things! Glad you enjoyed it regardless and thank you for leaving such a nice comment :)
Im glad i found this video! You are very cool ! I hope to see more videos soon! Greetings from Argentina (:
Thank you very much, I'm glad you found my channel :)
Uff, 6 months without your wardrobe😳 I find it hard already to pack for a short holiday, but 6 months...! But I love how positive you see it, and the way you treat it like a challenge with many opportunities. Lolita fashion often is so centered around buying new clothes (and I love it🙈), and I think that taking that element away will lead to a completely new way of connecting to the hobby/fashion/lifestyle. I think it will really help you to grow as a Lolita. A Lolita thrift flip sounds awesome! Maybe it's not too unlikely? In the spirit of oldschool Lolita you could find something to work with😍 But still...6 months😳
Thank you! At least it's Winter here now, so there's no way I'd be wearing lolita much (if at all) anyway! And by the time it warms up I intend to have made myself some more options ^__^
Lovely.
Thanks!
I would love to see how you structure your writing days! I thought about doing something similar like that but with painting, but haven’t gotten around it yet. It would be inspiring to me to see how you would do it😊
Alrighty, I will! Thanks for the motivation boost, ever since I moved states I've been wanting to host one by Zoom but have been lazy about it so I needed the motivation lol
@@HerRoliness To me, doing it via Zoom is such a good idea! It won't drain as much social energy, but still brings the excitement of working together with like minded, enthusiastic friends.
So cool, Mad Max x Dark Souls❤🔥And "Uhh fuck yeah, golden hour" really got me😂
I didn't know Dark Souls so had to look it up but oh yeah, that's the vibe. Thank you for the lovely comment as always, I read it to James and he specifically asked me to say thank you from him as well ^__^
@@HerRoliness Aw that's so nice! I thought of Dark Souls mainly because of the helmet😊
I watched the video and wrote a comment as soon as it came out, but apparently didn't send it D: These videos are my favorite of yours, also with the honest rambling voice over🥰 Outfit collages are just awesome! I always make them with the J-Fashion things and other stuff I order, so I can look at the pictures all at once while waiting🙈 A project I want to do is digitalizing my entire wardrobe but oh my, this will take a while😳 Something I would love to see from you is a capsule wardrobe inspired by a Character😍 It doesn't have to be Lolita specifically, although that would be cool too! And Lolita style specific, I'd love to see a Sailor Lolita capsule wardrobe💙
Awww thank you, that means a lot! Digitizing your wardrobe would be incredible but certainly would take a very, very long time. And thank you for the suggestions, will add them to the list (and also, am facepalming because trying to do a less traditional sailor capsule would be amazing but it never occurred to me until now, so thank you again!).
Yooo I'm so excited, your video just gave me the final push to finally buy my first cosplay!!! It's a cheap Tingle cosplay, that I want to modify. I can't wait, I love this character, and soon I can be him! Thank you so much!
Yay go you, that's awesome! I hope you have heaps of fun modifying him and wearing him :) If you want, send me a picture on Instagram when you're done, I'd love to see it. Welcome to the cosplay club!
Yess! I‘ll definitely send photos when I have him🥰
Bittersweet Lolita is like pinneapple on pizza: everyone is debating if it should be legal 😂😂
Haha that is a perfect analogy, I love it!
I love the amount of red/wine you included! In my mind I always picture either the more recent classic/sweet hybrid with more muted colours, or the crossover hime gyaru/lolita style of the time, with the focus on pink and white. I know its the point of these videos, but I really felt the functionality and distinctive style of this one! (I also feel like this was the style that so many of the new lolitas were trying to achieve at the time, so I rarely saw it this well executed due to their limited wardrobes)
Thank you! Yeah, I couldn't resist the wine even though it's a bit atypical so I'm happy to hear that you liked that element!
@@HerRoliness The wine really added to the wardrobe😍
a style i would adore to hear from you, is eighter ,,ami kawaii,, lolita, think fancy hospital by AP, orrr those sweet prints with crosses, i adore dresses like milky cross or cecilia cross, crosses and cats and unicorns fit togheter so well<3
Oooooh thank you for the suggestions. Sweet crosses would be a vibe (maybe venturing into sweet nun territory too?) and if you mean yami kawaii then that's a cool suggestion too. Adding them both to the list!
This is definitely a trend in lolita fashion that needs to come back
I always loved hime (to look at, that is) and didn't realise I missed it until I put this together, it was really something special.
welcome back! Your little bursts of excitement are super duper cute too. I hope both of you are able to settle nicely. Cannot wait to see updates and more fun things :) PLANTY CONTENT AND CAPSULES! OBSESSED already
Thank you so much! Oh I am very excited about lots of things right now, adventures to come :)
🎉 thank you
You’re welcome 😊
I personally loved watching all your capsule wardrobe videos😍 And of course your Lolita/Wardrobe related things in general!
Yay! Thank you! And you're in luck...next capsule video goes up in about five hours :)
is the tasmania devil from looney tunes real person or just a thing from looney tunes? if he's real have u met him?
He met us at the airport! Just kidding, we caught the Spirit of Tasmania ferry down here :p
Thanks for this, i recently got a kakeguri cosplay online I thought it would be asain sizes but it was western sizes so you can imagine how bigger it would have been.
Oh goodness me, yes lol. Glad this was helpful and I'd love to see your cosplay when it's done ^__^
All my love for recommending lady Sybil! ❤
Lady Sybil is just such an icon.
The only one I’m sure of is look 2, which is Wonder Woman
That one absolutely is the most "accurate" I could get. It was surprisingly hard!
This sounds so exciting! 😁 For me I came for Roli lolita and stayed for Roli the relatable nerdy person 😊 It’s actually hard for me to pick just one of your style of videos that I like the best because, like you, I enjoy all those various things you mentioned 😅 Also as a fellow Australian, I like seeing things from an Australian perspective.
I am so keen for this year! Nawww thank you, glad you're a variety fan...and an Aussie! Not enough of us around here ^__^
So glad to see this review - I got this in sax, plus a couple boleros, and there are so unbelievably comfy! Sleepyland deserves all the kudos, esp for such a wonderful plus sized release!
All the kudos indeed, can't wait to see what else they come out with.
I got the exact same cutsew in yellow as well! Its one of the comfiest tops i have for lolita and i definitely plan to get more from them in the future, i too had the problem of not being able to cross the neck ties so i wore it halter style Great video!
So comfy! Thanks for the idea of wearing the neckties as a halter, I had not thought of that and think it'll work brilliantly ^__^
HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! 😂😂😂 I Love It 🥰 Futurama is on of the Best Shows ever made
Glad you enjoyed and oh yes, Futurama is the absolute best!
Thank you Roli for the review and review!!
My pleasure, thank YOU for the comment ^__^
