One thing I love about the story of moon and pebbles shows that nobody is above the cycle, even godlike beings the size of mountains get sick and die eventually.

I never thought that I could ever be so emotionally attached to a sentient AI superstructure that it is difficult for me not to feel sympathy for her unfortunate situation and that is beyond her control.
