great collection. I just got a colony of myrmecocystus testaceus. they are small but beautiful.

*It's because of dominance, when workers becomes much larger and stronger than queens & there are more of them they are going to start attacking the queen if she didn't accept her daughters dominance. the Queens are just like eggs machines after all.*

Man, so much work. I love what I saw, but... Moments after my jaw dropped, I thought of how much space and work are going into these colonies. lol My current honey pot colony is doing well. I think I may have lost two repletes, but there seem to be much more on the way judging by the size of the pupae. What happens to a replete when it dies? My colony seemed to have moved the two deceased right to the middle of my water towers.

This ain't the best hobby for a clumsy person.

I would have put them all in the outworld first. Let them move into the nest on there own. After the dumping in. more space for you to work and not harm them.

My ants are messor structor and messor barbarus. But I like to watch other ant species too ☝️ An unemployed and still constantly applying for jobs, so I can’t buy anything I want like I used to.

This is kinda cruel. You can just found with a single queen per colony and get the same thing with none of this.

Great video on this amazing species! 🤩 I have on question though on the diapause over the winter. Do you reduce the nest temperature for this time or do you just mean reduce the access to food when you said "slow them down"?
