    Is there a simple way to adjust the shader and render engine settings to catch shadows without casting with the eevee changes in blender 4.2? I can turn off the sun light source shadows but then the cube does not cast any shadows and it seems that light groups are still cycles only

    I love your videos but it sucks that you don't do tutorials for the advanced versions of things.. I don't mind the actual files being paid, but if I can't even learn to make the nice things, then it's demotivating to learn anything in your style

    • @tawansunflower
      @tawansunflower 9 годин тому

      That's very fair. And yeah I want to be more open about these complex stuffs too. I think a lot about how should I give as many assets as I could while also making money. I did recently decide to make all the launches of the paid stuffs to be free. Like the Grass Advanced was actually free for a few days, and 8,000 artists did get it for free. 👍 You can see the sales in the product page. It was definitely one of the best thing I did, and I'd definitely do it again. I means I can give free stuffs to my royal followers while also making some money for the assets I make.

      @@tawansunflower Yeah I want you to get revenue as well and I think you should sell all your assets, but is it hard or bad to make tutorials for the advanced things? Would people not buy your assets anymore? I'd imagine that you could sell everything, and still make tutorials, so people who wanna learn can still do, and those who just don't wanna bother and wanna buy the asset straight away can do so too. But I don't know, I'm just a viewer ^^" Anyway thanks for the answer and for your work, I wish you great success!

    but what next? for example, I created a location and I want to add grass to certain areas of the area, say in the corners of buildings, a little in a vacant lot, what if I want the grass to be somewhere higher, somewhere lower. How can I use this method? How many computer resources does this method consume? But what if there are also animating flags and water in my location? Is this method optimal or is it just a way to create grass without the ability to use it later?

    Nice, I wonder how can we manually paint the grass on the ground? or add a noise variation to it? because the whole ground is filled with grass.

  • @Second.Studio
    @Second.Studio 2 дні тому

    Could someone help me please with adding a attribute node in the geometry nodes to assign the grass to a vertex group or be able to weight paint the grass (I tried messing around but I couldn’t figure it out), also when I rotated the wind in geometry nodes the texture of the grass didn’t rotate so the wind highlights are blowing backwards lol.

    Cool thing about your color picker is that you naturally get a perspective on where to find your light source intensity, bounce light intensity, shadow intensity, and deep/ambient occlusion intensity due to how the color picker is encompasing towards light in the top and right sides. Or maybe it's just that way to my brain, but it reduces millions of guesswork and I can now see how HGJart even was able to break into imagination with colors dynamically. Didn't even see it this way until today I started learning and watching your video! Should definitely make this a Photoshop plugin.

    By the end of the first chapter, the grass simply breaks into squares on both sides of the surface, do you have any addons or is it a uv map? I just don’t understand why the result is so striking.

    • @tawansunflower
      @tawansunflower 6 днів тому

      ??? I can't really picture what you mean. Does the grass turns into squares? If so, it might have something to do with the accumulate field node. You might set something wrong around that time of the video.

    • @dark_somethingother
      @dark_somethingother 4 дні тому

      @@tawansunflower yes, the grass turns into strange squares that are attached to both sides of the surface, it looks like an error, but I re-checked everything three times and no errors, perhaps the problem is in one of my third-party addons, I can’t find any other reason but I found a way to fix it: in the vector rotate node I changed the first value in center to 0.06 and the squares became more like grass, minus the truth that I can’t use your convenient method with the wind in this case, which is at the end of the video, but for scenes it’s all the same enough. Maybe when blender comes out in 4.2 stable it will come out to do exactly the same in general, it seems to me that this is either a conflict of addons or a bug, because without adding a value to vector rotate, I can’t even change the length of the grass, it’s just an unchangeable bunch of squares

    Don't get me wrong, this is a very good tutorial, but sometimes I wish that these videos actually explained WHY you're doing what you're doing. Such as the Geometry Nodes and the Shader parts. It'd be good to understand why you're specifically connecting those nodes together, so we actually learn how to play with the nodes and not just how to mimic a video.

      It's a geometry nodes setup, which you can drag and drop on to any object, and it would convert the mesh into clouds. 👍 You can import this setup into any scene, and reuse it as many times as you want. You can append the geometry nodes using the instructions in the product description. And, If you want the basics of geometry nodes, I suggest watching a video on the basics of Geometry nodes like this one from Blender Guru: ua-cam.com/video/aO0eUnu0hO0/v-deo.htmlsi=hQQ2AXh85gUd6HcY
