Trip Away In Safe Hands
Australia
Приєднався 7 лип 2021
We are Bill and Vicki and we live on an island in the beautiful south-west area of Western Australia. When we're not spending time with our wonderful loving family, or working in our garden, we enjoy travelling.
With a treasure trove of townships and countryside to discover, there is a lot to see in this amazing land of ours. And we always try to support the local economy wherever we go, especially the bakeries!
We put our trust 'in safe hands' - our Lord God and Saviour Jesus - as we journey through life.
Join us as we take another 'Trip Away'.

Repotting Grandad's Monstera
Переглядів 1,1 тис.21 день тому
Bill's dad initially grew this Monstera and our youngest son and his wife took part of it and potted part of their plant for us. Sadly a possum attacked it about a year ago and ate it right down to the roots! After almost 12 months being nursed back to health in the greenhouse, it is ready to be potted up again. #gardening #repotting #plants

Esperance Part 2 Lucky Bay
Переглядів 133Місяць тому
We continue our visit around Esperance. A day trip to Cape Le Grande National Park and the famous Lucky Bay. Unfortunately it is a cloudy day but the sea colour is still beautiful and we watch some dolphins surfing. A visit to Aunty Joan's Dolly Mix is a lovely way to spend a few hours when it is raining. A quick stop at Lake Muir on the way home. #australiatravel #campingaustralia #westernaust...

GWM Tank 500 Review
Переглядів 6 тис.2 місяці тому
We offer an honest car review of our GWM Tank 500. After 10000kms of driving we know a bit about it. But it is by no means a comprehensive representation, as there is just so much in this car to see, to learn and to use! We will review the 4WD aspect of this car in a future video. #carreview #gwm #tank500

What an awesome looking vehicle!
@@rick1whit1 thanks for watching. We certainly like our Tank👍
It would have been an even better video if they did a bit lesser talking and showing us more of it's capabilities, we know most of those features, we wanna see action.
Bless you indeed
@@frederickryno8148 thanks for watching.
Can Chinese car be good? 😮
@@cranedriverhse2158 the Chinese are very innovative. Thanks for watching
Very nice video. Thank you for sharing. How is the fuel consumption per 100km
Around 8.5 country driving
@@lmthunzi thanks. When towing it is about 11-12.
@@billwoodage7894 Not bad, thanks
I'm looking for a 7 seater for my growing family. How do you find the third row?
We have had seven adults in the car for a short 15 minute trip. Admittedly the two in the third row were not much taller than 5 foot but they were comfortable enough. They had enough leg room without being squashed. I hope that helps.
Looks good 👍 I like the info on E681 sign
@@saltyskippa thanks 😊
great video enjoy the car
@@kajak012 thank you we do😊
nice :) How is it under tow?
@@brentonGCTesla Thanks, we have found towing to be good - we had a Toyota Kluger hybrid previous to the Tank and we feel the Tank tows better, holds the road better. But our van currently is quite light - under 2 ton.
I'm considering a Tank 500. What do you think of it overall?
Overall we like our Tank. It is a very comfortable and quiet ride.It handles the road well and tows well. It does have some random software glitches that are being addressed by the company - minor annoyances such as the Cabin Monitoring that has to be turned off each time. It is not the most fuel efficient car out there, but then it only takes 91, which is cheaper anyway. For the price, the comfort, features, and handling you get all adds up to really good value.🙂
@@tripawayinsafehands thanks very much. It does look good value for money.
Great car, amazing value.
@@sergeyd2199 yes we think so too👍
I got one on the same sale just at Jaycar
Hope it is working well for you. We are really pleased with ours.
@tripawayinsafehands only used it once so far and worked great - got the battery while that sale was on saved like $70 on it - haven't tried that yet
informative

We were at the Bunbury showroom today Mark was very helpful and professional with our enquiries and will look at buying the Aspire 555 in the very near future. The van we saw had a few mods and verifications to your van and would go with the movable island table and lithium battery upgrade. Your front protector is nice and a good afterthought Thanks for your review Phil in the South West
@@philburrows6036 thanks. Our van is now for sale 😊
Interesting with your stinky water hack 😂

I wonder how low it will last on a car battery 🔋 without out solar
@@saltyskippa not sure - something we will find out with time. Good for the boat too😊

@@chrismidson4011 thank you
Helpful video. Would be great to have a short video when towing and effectiveness of the hybrid system as I've heard the battery gets depleted quickly in hilly areas and runs out of puff (when towing)
Thank you. We live in a relatively flat land but on the hills here we have had no issue with the battery system.
@@tripawayinsafehands and fuel economy when towing on flat would be around 14-15L/100?
@@unitedstates3068 yes about that. A bit more if it's windy or there are a lot of hills.
You deserved more 👍🏾
@@user_unknown_not_found thank you💐

Thanks for sharing. I’m picking up my new Tank 500 in a few weeks and it is great to get a real Tank 500’s owners opinion. The fuel efficiency was a concern but 9-10L/100 isn’t bad at all compared to other high priced vehicles similar to the Tank.
@@kevinferguson530 Yes and you only need the cheaper fuel in Australia. We are just on a trip away with our van - it tows well too. Enjoy your new Tank 500!
Wow cooking 🧑🍳 vids
@@saltyskippa yep - quick and easy😊
A very good and comprehensive review. I have the same car and have done 3000km. I found that if you reduce the voice volume down to zero it gets rid of the annoying bullet sound and also all the speed warnings. I am also very happy with the car.
Great - thanks for that tip!
What does it tow like. How confendent in long-term ownership .thanks for your review
@ Thank you. we have done about 5000kms towing of a caravan weighing less than 2ton. We have been on all types of roads and found the Tank 500 to be responsive, and tows better and safer than our previous car Toyota Kluger hybrid. We believe we will keep the car long term as it suits our needs very well.
Excellent review. Watching from Southern Africa
@@lmthunzi wow - thank you
Recip are the go
Thank you for your review. Very informative. You mentioned that the gwm tow bar kit is a 7 pin ( i was told it was 13 pin) and when you added an adapter, the cruise control would disengage and the tail gate door would lock - is this your experience? Also where would you mount driving led lights and/or led light bar? Can you purchase alloy bull bar/nudge bar? Thank you Regards Chris.
Thank you - the dealer fitted the pin as per our requirements, they asked what we needed. We haven't used the cruise control so sorry can't answer that one. When the caravan is hooked up to the car there is little room for us to open the tailgate door without causing damage and when the electrics are connected then the tailgate door doesn't open. Once it is unplugged then the door opens. Sorry we haven't attached LED lights. Also sorry we don't know about the purchase of a bull bar or nudge bar as we are not intending to do this. We are changing our caravan in the new year and won't need the adapter so it may change the tailgate door situation.
You haven’t used cruise control! I think you need to use all these features to review it properly. I’ve been told the electronic safety systems and auto drive systems don’t function properly. GWM is doing a firmware update to fix these issues, but even after the update some of the features don’t work well.
@@incognito861 Apologies but if we had reviewed every single feature in the car the video would have been much much longer. We have heard that there will be a firmware update to address some of the features. Thanks for watching.
thanks for sharing, i've always been interested in getting a T500

Just a little fact check in the unreliable power you mentioned at the start mate. It’s not self sufficient at all. In fact SA has constant black outs and needs propping up from reliable base load coal fired power generation which they pull from other states which is why SA power bills are the highest in the country.
@@galacticnemesis366 thanks. We spoke on a current report we found by a Dr Gabrielle Kuiper. You are right - Adelaide does have the highest electricity costs in Australia
