This is a new series that I am going to try to do daily that celebrates great moments in American talent from the past.
Indefatigability: The Travails of George Galloway MP

George Galloway's career from 2003 to May 2005. Lambasts the US Senate.
When George said: "No Japanese Airplane came past Tulsa" Marine Corps Colonel Ed McMahon - who flew 85 combat missions and earned six Airmedals - , sure appreciated that joke:) You hear him laughing like hell in the back. I sure cherish this show.
Talent!
The fellow you couldn't identify is Phil Harris.
Yes, Phil Harris had a wonderful voice - speaking and laughing. Real warmth and magic. If you can, listen to "The Bare Necessities" and " I Wanna Be Like You" again. His improvisation on the latter is so great: "Getting MAD, baby!" made all the recording studio crack up. It's fantastic to see Jack, George, Bob and Phil like this.
Jack Benny had a magical voice and could tell jokes....a wonderful mix
Love Phil Harris in the ensemble. He also was on the dean martin show and voice of Thomas O’Malley on the Aristocats.
How sad you are trying to appeal to crusty old folks to make yourself money-ever generation thinks the next has 'no talent'. You are a mercenary fool...
I have read all of George Burns' (Nathan Burnbaum) books. He is the wittiest person I have ever know. Every paragraph is a gem.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
To bad you care more about being seen, than showing the content first.
Phil Harris was the bear (Baloo) in The Jungle Book. Just sane... :^) Saint
This is the funniest thing I think I've ever seen in my life I could watch it over and over again and laugh my ass off
Can't be or learn to be this talented starring at a phone all day. This is called the ART of conversation
At 10:00 that is Phil Harris. He was a very popular singer and entertainer back in the 1950's and 1960's. The first time I ever heard about him was when he sang some of the tunes on the Walt Disney Jungle Book movie that was made way back in the 1960's.
Phil on Benny’s radio show “HEY JACKSON!” I could just imagine Jack’s face every time Phil called him that. 😆😆😆 But seriously, Burns, Benny and Harris will never be forgotten.
When I think about who are the greatest female singers of the twentieth century, nay for all time, I can only think of three. I will say Judy Garland, then Barbra Streisand, then Edith Piaf--- then everyone else---IN THAT ORDER. Could there ever be any other choice in popular music?
George Gobel was the sweetest, kindness man. Always polite. The world sure could use a lot more like him.
So much talent came up from vaudeville. Each of these great artists honed unbelievable skills that no one else could match. They knew how to mesmerize audiences from the moment they came out.
😎
Jack Benny and George Burns to me were two of the the funniest comedians on stage and film. Separately they could hold an audience with their jokes, but together they would keep the audience rolling in the isles. George wrote in one of his books about having dinner with Jack... Where Jack wanted a biscuit, or toast, with butter. George said so have the bread and butter. Jack explained that he couldn't because Mary, his wife, says it's not good for him. George, replied that Mary wasn't there, so have the bread and butter. Jack orders the bread and the butter, consuming it happily. Upon the conclusion of the meal, the check was brought to the table... George intently shoves the check over to Jack to pay... Jack inquires why should he pay for the check? To which George remarks that if Jack didn't pay the check George would tell Mary about the bread and butter.... Jack paid the check. These and other stories of the two are what made comedy what it was. Oh we have comedians today, and some are quite funny. But Jack and George were more than that, and we got to eaves drop into parts of their lives, because they constantly talked about it. Those of you who want to be funny, should learn from the old masters. Thanks so much for giving me a good laugh.
Phil harris Jacks band lader
Torture people with jack ... he can't play lol.
At 8.11, what did Dean Martin say that was so funny?
Very classy guy
Remember this live.
I keep seein Where the heck is Dean flicking the ash off of his cigarette? One second he looks like he’s flicking it behind George’s back, he even gets some on his shoulder that one time and wipes it off Another time it looks like he’s flicking it into George’s drink
When the Giants of comedy rule the airwaves. Today we have these snot nose brain dead punks reading the Teleprompter and surrounded by a phalanx of riders. Talking politics. No wonder their ratings are in the toilet. I’m so sad I miss men of this caliber. Just a bunch of brats today on late night TV.
Two things strike me as I watch these old shows and routines and I am watching from Canada btw, so no one can accuse me of being red or blue. I am always so impressed by the fact that any time they referred to the President, whether by name or not they did so with respect for the office. And secondly, the humor had a simplicity and innocence which was the entire point. These programs were supposed to be a distraction, a diversion from daily life and daily worries. Now our 'entertainment' just rehashes the same issues and stresses people have but with an even more mean spiritedness than the news media! Instead of diversions for people, it's piling on and making things worse! It's incredible to me how bad things have become and no one seems to either notice or care where it all came from. These videos are treasures to me, I enjoy watching a few minutes every day and without fail I leave the screen smiling and sometimes even chuckling under my breath. Great stuff!!
Still one of the best clips on UA-cam
I was one day old. 😁
America does still have talent. The problem comes about our citizens feel they government's help. It is all about the government getting and keeping control over invention. The Federal Government does not want green energy. That is one of the biggest lies. Any and all green energy will be controlled by DOE and Utilities. We the people will not benefit. Unless a great invention happens without government help. Most likely the great invention will need to happen oversea's.
GO-ble.
I love you when you get mad!!! LMAOOOOO 🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!
HILARIOUS 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 LOVE CLASSIC HUMOR 💋💋💋!!!
Didn’t Phil Harris do the voice of the Big ‘ol Bear in the original Disney’s “Jungle Book”?
baloo
Classic!
Phil Harris was a regular on the Jack Benny Program on radio along with Jack's real life wife Mary Livingston.
George got the biggest laughs of the show !!!!!
How do these ever get thumbs down?? Love this
They just don't have this level of talent anymore. What passes for talent and humor now days is disgusting.
Baseless. Many of these guys' stage acts were just as "disgusting". And there's tons of great new comedy if you look for it.
I am a huge fan of Dean Martin. I just found it it kind of sad that he fell back on this drunk act for the end of his career. He didn't need to do it. He was funny without it. That was apple juice or tea in his cup. This was truly when the Tonight Show was funny. The guests stayed and interacted with each other. At some point it transitioned to the guest coming on, giving their pitch and leaving. Pretty sure Hope started that. Now it is the norm for all talk shows.
"Are you a leading Man?". I like the audience laughing during the pause. Just 👍
This is great. These were the good year's
Gobels was a world class guitar player
When did we lose it? These were very clean, funny, talented celebrities. Miss them a lot.
Forced to be clean for TV, you mean. Their stage acts were quite different.
Yes. America HAD ( past tense) talent. In all venues it had talent.....real talent. Sadly now gone from our landscape. Replaced by vulgar, obscene nobodies who hate their country. It's so sad that today's youth will never know the likes of Hope, Benny, Burns and Allan, Skelton.....only to mention a few. One more thing worth noting....... People used to have the capacity and willingness to laugh at themselves. A very healthy thing. Gone!! And that is a very, very bad sign. The youth of today are in for a very bleak future in so many ways. God help them.
Phill Harris yes
I never thought Dave was funny.
What I like about the south Phil Harris 100%
Dean MARTIN DIDN’t drink, he was stoned on weed
