Is it ok to have one pet pigeon?
Hello Friends!
Before getting my pet pigeon, I was going through years or research and I could never find any information weather it’s ok to have one pigeon or it must be two. After about two years of having one pet pigeon, I got the second one… and now I would like to share my opinion and try answering this question for you. Hope you’ll find some information there useful … or, if not, I hope at least it’ll make you smile :)

With this video I wanted to share with you what my pet pigeon and I experienced after moving two times in the past two years (yep, tight schedule :D). Hello Friends! I want to share with you my thoughts and my research on the matter of "what pigeons eat". I decided to split this topic into two parts, otherwise the video would be too long :D In this part I wanted to show you what components make a healthy diet for a pet pigeon. Despite common belief, you are not limited only to seed and grain mix from a pet store :) In the first part on this t...

One must pet the pigeon

Not all pigeons, but most of them love pets... well, if they trust you. I am lucky. Toby loves her head to be scratched to the point that she actually demands it :D. I hope this video will make you smile and put you in a good mood:) Music used: Arthur Benson - No Clues Left

Be very careful with sprouts. They are very prone to having fungus and bacteria because of the moist environment. I wouldn’t leave them for too long before feeding or throwing away.

Hi. We recently discovered that our pigeon is a girl, she started laying eggs. Would you please do a video regarding egg laying and how you deal with it? We are scared to take away her eggs, they are not fertilized as she has no mate. Thank you, great videos!

This was so pleasant to watch!! Thank you for being you. I just looked after a sick collared dove I found outside, only for 2 days, because he sadly died before I could find him help. I have been distraught by it, and your videos soothe that a lot ❤

Yeeees it's weeeiirddd i found a baby pigeon i raised and took her a partner for her to be fully happy my vet told me i needed at least 2 . After one year she still doesn't aknowledge him😅 at alllll despite him doing everything to bound with her.. . She only cares about me always on my head or my shoulders giving me kisses constantly asking for affection she demands all of my time and attention... and hugs never thought you could have such a strong bound with a pigeon. The result ...i now have two pigeons instead of one on my shoulders constantly asking for affection 😅😅we are a happy little team all 3 of us and im not happy when im not around them. They are precious and a real blessing Thanks for your video it s very helpfull ❤️

I used to be the "pigeon guy" at school. There was a beautiful white and grey Pigeon that would show up every day, in the morning, during breakfast, during lunch, and waiting for the bus. Would always toss it some of my food and I even pet it once (got yelled at not to so I didn't after that xD). It was always around for the four years I went there. Now that I think about it, I wonder what they thought when I suddenly stopped coming to visit...

We were considering getting a parrot but that’s not the right choice for so many reasons. After some research and watching your video I think we will go with pigeon instead. So much easier and just as much love. No destruction or insane noise is a definite bonus!

I have a rescue pigeon (saved from a crow attack) and I want to give him the best healthy food...and grit, which I definitely didn't know about...so his wing can heal. We went out on the porch for direct sunshine today and will make it a habit, at least once per week, for vitamin D. ☀️🥰 You and your little pigeons are beautiful. 💗🕊️🌿✨

I noticed that you have a very clean house and have no pigeon poop on your floors or furniture. I have a squab I hand raised since birth, parents not present, but worried as I wish to keep her but concerned about the poop. How is your house so clean? Do you find the poop to be problematic? She is in her small cage at the moment and poops every few moments, it is just so much poop!

Pigeons are actually called Rock Doves as they are from the dove family. if they have a line around the back of the neck, ringneck dove, will fill their crop bow their head and coo coo coooo and laugh alot If they have no ring on their neck but spottage and some form of beige they are mourning doves, will emit a sound similar to mourning.

I understand why you said that cats are more independent and the good intention behind that 😊 But I promise you they are very needy when it comes about affection and cuddles. There is a very common misconception that their independence on stuff like eating, pooping or cleaning also pairs with emotional independence. But it is not true. Or course then it depends on the breed, some are like suuuper cuddly and others a bit less, but all in all cats do really care deeply for the bond and the attentions of their fellow human.

I'm a long-term pigeon guy. It could be that Toby is a boy and bonded with you; and your Frill is also a male...hence the competition. I feel like if you had two females, or a male and a female, they would mate and lay eggs. But I certainly could be wrong... again.... I appreciate your videos! I am hand-raising a German Owl for my grand-daughter, and I have really enjoyed your sharing your pigeon-pet experience! Thanks!

@@darkfrostWcueAndspeedpaint do you fly your pigeons? Im wondering if the human/pigeon bond will get in the way or strengthen the homing instinct. Im speaking of hatching the eggs and hand feeding. Imprinting. No one can seem to answer me. This is not the right place for the homing talk, I know, but still looking for insight in the subject.
