Is the Harley Iron 883 a good bike? Ride and Review from an owner
A tip as soon as you get your battery in and get everything hooked up start the bike before you put the panel in the seat and all back on to make sure that it starts so you won't have to double work if it don't to take the panel on all back off again❤
Video too dark hard to see
WOW!!! NOT A VERY GOOD VIDEO! I hope this dude has learned a lot more by now! SMH!!!!!
Talking about safety; but you Run a Red Light????
Good job homie!
I love my iron 883. 2018 model.
Very nice bike and if I didnt have bmw f850 gsa and didnt know how great adv bikes are I would defo go for this one.. but bmw gs beats this in everyway... If I ever buy HD its because of sound.. everything else sux on em... but there is something about them that even though they sux and are super expensive for what u get.. u still want one.. it gives you joy on another level... conclusion? HD is HD and you cant compare this bikes to anything... its HD or rest of the world...
Ofxourse they are not.. but its HD and if you want one - pay...
Please don’t do anymore tutorials
Downvoted for not explaining the bits that were actually necessary
Would’ve been nice if you explained the actual process of removing and installing the battery. 🤦♂️
I ride a yamaha xsr 900. no wind screen or wind protection. bar none most comfortable and aerodynamic helmet i've ever had. worth every penny
Just found this channel. Cool I live in Monterey 2014 HD 883n iron. Sunday morning ride to Big Sur and back is my church.
Awesome. Thanks 4 the tip.
That hold down is what I’m talking about. I’ve sliced open my fingers trying to release it. POS
As much as I love Harley that has got to be the stupidest design ever.
Dude! Right you are. At my Suzuki I pop off the seat and the battery is there. Simple as that. Best regards! Chris
Jeezy, so many guys giving this guy a hard time over motorcycle knowledge! I bet 90% of yall never worked on an engine or done real repairs before you bought the bike! 🤣 I know because a lot of guy's buy without even knowing how to change the spark plugs! Hehe! i only looked this up because my brother the non mechanic asked me to! not rocket science!
Hiya, I actually have both too a 2016 Iron and a 2018 Fat Bob which I have only had for a few weeks now. I’m reluctant to sell my iron too . Love them both but they are both very different machines. Question is shall I sell my iron , can I let it go??
I have a friend who was wearing one of these while doing a wheelie on the highway going 85 and fell off onto his back and slide to a stop. The backpack held it shape with some road rash on the bottom part that sticks out the most. But he still wears it and it still works great. I just got one today.
This video is perfect because I own an 883 and I want Fat Bob! Thanks!!
Ha! Very interesting observation about the windscreens. I just saw another review where the reviewer had a windscreen and said the vent at the top caused extra buffeting. Another thing I've learned is, if the helmet doesn't fit properly, i.e. very snug, it can also be loud. If you put the helmet on, it should be fairly hard to get on. If it isn't. you have a size too big and you are losing out on the design to keep it quiet.
Man i went to the dealership and i love the look of the iron 883 but everyone says its not enough engine. I wish i could get that same look with the 114 look. I dont like the headlight or the build as much and im not trying to spend a bunch of money modding it
If you don't think Harleys don't have plastic just look at their touring bikes. Saddle bags = plastic, fairing = plastic, travel trunk = plastic.
4 minutes in and I realised that this guy has no clue what he is talking about.
Got one, it’s really noisy, well disappointed.
Bought mine a few days ago. Really disappointed though. Helmet's the right size, but not only it isn't that quiet (always a bit subjective) but it also makes this weird noise as if someone's blowing air over and open bottle of coke. That weird noise disappears if I force the chin protection against my chin or if I cover the back of my head. Maybe it's not appropriate for my type of head (oval) but I wouldn't have bought it if I knew it would be like this.
It takes me an hour for my 2012 Superlow. The negative cable is super short
I personally think mach one is the best for the price.
No plastic parts?? You should open that engine up and see the plastic 😂😂😂
Just over priced
The oil in the primary/transmission is separate from that in the engine. Please do some research before posting incorrect info.
I just bought one and it will be here this week, I will do a review and get back to you. Get after it. Mark me down as subscriber #180
Ever hear of a light?
What if you use gear and chain oil
Really vs? There’s no comparison
Great video! Love the content :D One thing though, and I can't tell you why, but I heard from multiple videos that spraying compressed air in the air intake is a no-no. The video I watched had a person using a long bristled brush, but if it was really bad they said to use a liquid solution.
Overpriced? Yes. Worth it? Depends on the rider. I still absolutely want one. But I understand they are overpriced for what they offer. Outdated and piss poor performance with shit designs compared to any Euro or Japanese bike. I still want a Harley nonetheless.
Very thorough review. I have had two originals, and just bought a second gen. Can’t wait to compare the two. Only helmet that ever fit my head just right. 👍👍🇨🇦
Same for me. Tried the Neotec and I am not comfortable. GT Air is the only one that fits as if molded on my head.
Thank you for posting this. i just recently purchased an 883 and came up on my first oil change. Your video really helped me out a lot. Thank you!
i watched almost 8 mins video titled are harleys worth it, and the only argument i heard is that they are beautiful and they have style.... guess what, i knew that much... the thing is, are they worth giving 15k or even more for a used harley, than buying a new honda or a yamaha for example with almost the same specs and looks? How expensive is to maintain a harley compered to these bikes or even how long will a harley last? i have seen 30+ years old hondas as dailies and even i have one, and it costs me nothing considering the years and the use...
I agree, style and rumble is not justifiable to buy a Harley and spend the money. I have ridden Hondas all my life. No issues, I dress them for less and add pipes. It does it for me. Once I hit the road nothing else matters.
Are they overpriced... yes very much so. Dealers are adding 10k to the price... I walked out the door. They wanted to negotiate from their added-on price by bringing it down to MSRP with my Sportster trade in... they can stick their bikes where the sun don't shine. I lose my Sportster and end up at MSRP... please spare me the BS.
Hey really quick @DigitalMotorhead, you might want to tuck in your primary oil hose away from the ground. If you hit a speed bump and it gets pressed against the bottom of your bike it could rip off the plug and spew oil all over your rear tire. Stay safe out there and nice video :)
So weird? Your battery is backwards, mine goes in the other way. It’s a 2014 883.
Thankfully I had a good base from driving a manual car for my first car. Rode dirt bikes for alot of years. Finally just got my first road bike....a Fat Bob...the weight has been something to get use too but a few thousand miles later going pretty well! Great video!
Very good review! Got better info out of it than other top production reviews lol
Overpriced? Orange County is overpriced. $150,000 for a theme bike? Not even engineered right. I think they hold their value more than a car. Just my opinion
My experience with GT AIR II is very good, i have no complaints. I have windscreen on my bike and even so my GT AIR II is very quiet. Anyone who is complaining about noise coming in by the upper air intake, confirm that it is not leaking air, you have to try spraying it with water to see if it enters the helmet. I had a Neotec II with this problem. Greetings to all.
Did you just reach a metal stick over both battery terminals! Lmao 🤣
Worst lighting ever
Interesting. Almost everyone list the GT Air/GT Air 2 as Shoei's touring/sports touring helmet. Shoei's own website describes the GT Air 2 as "SHOEI’s premiere full-face touring helmet". Most of the bikes designed for touring have tall fairings and wind screens. What you’re saying kind of contradicts what everyone else is saying about this helmet.
