A birds eye view into the eye of a Birdnado
There are so many words you can use to describe a birdnado! The one that really stands out for me is simply RAD! These crazy birds were gettin' so crazier by the second, that every minute was crazier than the second before it!!!!!!!! And this went on for about 20 of them!
But seriously! IT WAS CRAZY! Laguna Niguel California was under siege by a huge birdnado that was spinning out of control like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. At one point I thought I was going to be sucked in and flung off to Kansas somewhere. Thank goodness the birds weren't all that angry with me for butting into whatever business they were up to with that tree that day. Whew! But if they were angry birds, that could've been really really scary. I was up there all alone with no weapons or any other kind of protection. I didn't even have any bird seed to offer them if they decided to be aggressive or annoyed by me. Plus I didn't have a friend like Ian Ziering to bail me out if it were to actually happen. Because his chainsaw hand could have come in quite handy. Plus I really like it here in California. I've never been to Kansas. I'm not quite sure what's there. I lived in Missouri once when I was smaller. But I'm pretty sure I prefer California now that I'm a full sized human. If you ever have a chance to visit, Please don't drive down crown valley parkway. Its getting really really crowded with all of the new condos being built by greedy land developers and city officials. This very hillside I filmed these feathery little freaks from could very well be gone someday soon. I hope not. Otherwise these freaks would have nowhere else to flap around and form big weird birdnados. I couldn't bear the thought of this town without birdnados. It would be bleak at best. So if you come, please take the 5 south and exit Beach Cities/PCH to get to the beach. Your GPS will tell you to exit crown valley. But don't do it. Yes, it's a shorter distance to the beach but It's riddled with stop light after stop light. The freeway as of now doesn't have any stop lights at all! So it's way more relaxing just to sit back, turn up your radio, slap on thebrandonparsonsproject, plant a big smile on your head, and cruise without all the stop and go. Where was I? OH YEAH!
Still to this day I am haunted by the thought of what If I were to have been sucked away? My wife would miss me terribly and my clients would wonder why I didn't follow through. I wouldn't even know what to do in Kansas. I'd probably have to book a flight home immediately. There goes $400.
And then it would be a daymare because I didn't have my wallet with me on that hillside that day. Plus I was barefoot. My wallet would have contained my I.D. So Airport security would probably break out the rubber glove.
But I am alive and well here in my fantastic town and I thank the birds for being peaceful and rad that day.
Oh and that song "Bird O' Paradise" Was written and performed by me. Thebrandonparsonsproject in my home recording studio. You can find tons of my other music on Amazon music, Spotify, and all sorts of other nifty platforms. Plus check out my Christmas tunes under my pseudo name "2K?"
That's spelled Twothousandsumthin. "Here Comes Santa Claus Ripping Down The Line"
And "Frosty The Snowman AKA Iceman"

      Lol! Love it man! No I do not play professionally or even play live anywhere. I’ve played in bands before but it is just so much more difficult than people realize. A lot of talk and not enough rock ya know? The biggest thing that’s been a challenge for me is I’ve never played covers nor want to. I’m self taught and been composing for decades apparently for my sanity seeing as I’ve never seen a dime. I play all of the instruments and sing as well so I spend a lot of time in the studio. In the next month or so I plan to release a lot of my songs. Thank you so much for watching

    Hey Brandon, thanks for your informative UA-cam video. I’m at the early stages of learning how to introduce drums into my home recordings. How do I change from a drummer using sticks to brushes? Again, great information!

    • @brandonparsons3472
      @brandonparsons3472 Рік тому

      Thank you for watching!!! Unfortunately you can’t play with brushes using the drummer feature. You would have to copy and paste the entire drum track onto a software instrument track into midi. However you’ll have to make sure the drum kit you load as your patch contains a brush hit. I haven’t ventured to see which one has it. You could also find a brush hit in your sound library. Also try different drummers and pull the ball down to soft and see if one will do it. Most will be a stick hit or block. Good luck!!!!

    Yes cowbell can be added. With this you can have as many drummers as you want. Drummer tracks are limited. But once you change it to midi, it's no longer a drummer track. Use this feature if you like the kick of one drummer, or the snare of another, etc. change it to midi and then select through different kits in your patches. Glad you're diggin it. B

    This was so helpful! Thank you! Copying and pasting the track to midi blew my mind. I was getting so frustrated trying to copy and paste on the drum track. Because when you try to delete and add a fill to the drum track, it always changes the entire drum track. I always ended up with two fills one right after the other.

    • @brandonparsons3472
      @brandonparsons3472 3 роки тому

      That's the thing with the drummer track. When you lengthen it, cut it, shorten it, it will change the pattern you just worked so hard to complete. This is why I kept trying to figure out a way to avoid that. I'm now on Logic. But it's still set up the exact same way. I've never recorded a song without doing this trick since I found it. Thanx for watching! B

    Thanks Brandon. The basic drum facility on Garage band is utterly useless if you can't alter the beats themselves; and most other tutorials just tell tyou the basics which are of no help at all. This tutorial tells you exactly what is required to tailor the drum to YOUR song......not the other way around. Thanks again.

    Hi Brandon, just checking a couple of your GB vids - good stuff even if posted 5 years apart from each other! Just a quick tip you may find useful when in piano roll that speeds selection up. When you were selecting that kick drum, if you tap on the piano key to the left it’ll select all of them in one go so no need to click and drag which can get fussy and time consuming. Cheers.

      There’s a thousand ways to do it but what I found that works seamlessly is focusrite Scarlett 4i4 just line in to Logic ProX. That patch is called classic drive. I turned up the gain all the way. Cranked the reverb. And turned the delay up about 70 percent. I’m not familiar with mk2. But if you’ve got $200 Logic Pro X is the best in my opinion. Just plug in a play. The presets are pretty fantastic. Another $200 gets you the Scarlett. Well worth the dough. It made my recording life a breeze and I can get a pretty pro sound on my compositions now!! Good luck!

    Hi Pop Rockers! B here. I wanted to mention that when you copy drums to midi, Make sure that the midi track has the exact same EQ, Effects, and whatever other parameters you may have set on the drummer track. Otherwise It will clearly sound different in the midi parts. I forgot to mention that in my vid. Watch my new vid on my channel to dive deeper into this midi trick I showed you. It gets very exciting. I show you how to have your kick on a separate track. And your snare on a separate track. This is the only way to get EQ control on specific instruments of your kit. I like to take most or even all the reverb out of the kick. Gives a cleaner sound. you will also be shocked at the control over the snare you have. EQ the crap out of it to make it perfect for your ears! Good luck and thanx again for watching. Pop and Rock On! B
