Happy Easter! Chronic pain and a bad combo of medications led me to feel extremely depressed and then suicidal for a year and a half. God was with me during that time and ultimately was the reason I didn't attempt suicide. I love this time of year where the ultimate sacrifice of Christ is celebrated around the world. He lives and loves you and me. Keep fighting your battles and trust in the Lor...

People either seem to love it or hate it! I didn't like the dry mouth and bad dreams I got from Amitriptyline and then I learned it can cause sun sensitivity which was bad news for me since I already have a sun sensitive condition!
@essanjay8604 oh no! That's an important side effect for you to be aware of. Yes, it's amazing how extreme people's responses are to the triptylines!

I am sorry it didn't work out for you. I started taking amitriptyline for my migraine two weeks back and so far it has been good. I used to get migraines almost every other day and it's been a week and a half of no migraine for me. However I am experiencing paranoia, I freak out if the door bell rings or if my phone rings all of a sudden and I can feel my heart beat fast. Has anyone here experienced something like that with amitriptyline ?
Yes
I was in a major car accident 20 yrs ago i still suffer from ptsd. I would love to have aone of these symptoms off of me.
@brandiwestpfahl7539 I'm so sorry you carry that heavy burden. Truly hope you can find some peace and relief. 🫶
This drug , messed me up!! I was a zombie 🧟♂️
@@adpgreyarea8526 it's such a horrible feeling!
I got this prescribed for my chronic painful bladder syndrome but I’m taking oxybutynin already and didn’t want them to mix. I saw antidepressant medicine and got skeptical especially because I’m already struggling with depression and don’t want those symptoms to get worse. I don’t think I’ll take Amitriptyline, it feels like my urologist just prescribed it on a whim without much understanding. Thank you for the video, it was really helpful I appreciate it! God bless
@Cactiivx I have had luck with other antidepressants for depression, just not ami/nortiptyline! I hope you're able to find the right mix! It's so hard trying out meds, hoping that one will work! God bless you. ❤️

@@georgebrook6808 needed this today.🫡
I appreciate this! My doctor just suggested botox today and the word and idea of it is so scary. I'm just watching a ton of videos of positive effects and hoping this could be the thing that enhances my quality of life. 🙏❤️
@Mokshana.ankara best of luck to you! I was initially nervous, too! It is very intimidating!! But so so worth it for me and so many others. ❤️
Thanks for sharing! I start my treatment next month and I’m super nervous but I’m praying that’ll something will finally help stop having these migraines so frequently.
@adezhaeison7830 Good luck! ❤️ I hope it will work for you.
Amitriptylin (low dose) in combination with medicin against high blood pressure was a life saver for me (it has reduced my chronic migraine to almost zero
@christinaheiberg1625 that is THE best news! I'm so glad you found the right combo of meds.
I did it for 5 yrs but it stopped working so now i get just trigger point injections every 3 months.
I hope the trigger point injections have worked just as well, or better for you, than botox! I had trigger point injections a few times and felt like they helped me.
@@sunshineandpain yea unfortunately thats been my journey something works for a few years then stops and we have to switch... ive had migraines for 27 yrs it really puts a damper on things. Managing it is the best treatment.
Thank you for documenting your experience here 😊
Oh so helpful. Thank you ❤ you are loved!
What drug are you taking now? As I would like to know? anyhelp i can get? ❤
I take zoloft and wellbutrin for anxiety/depression, and I receive botox for my migraines! It has been a really great combo for me. Best of luck finding the right medications.
What new antidepressant are you taking now?
Hi! I take zoloft and wellbutrin.
thank you for sharing . I oercieve your heart is so big and generous
That's so kind. Thank you ❤️
I get mine every 3 months, 175 units now is 36 injections. I go through it as well. I'd rather get the Botox than deal with the migraines
I've been getting chronic migraines since I was 8. I'm now in my 50s. I've been getting botox for 5 years now and it's the only thing that has helped me. I dp have a copayment that the botox savings program doesn't pay for which is $150.00 from the insurance. They consider it as surgery. I'm wondering if anyone else's neurologist office puts it down as surgery code? The botox savings company use to puck it up, but the past 2 years they haven't. I get 38 to 40 injections. Mine are so bad that I get it done every 10 weeks instead of every 12 weeks. Some insurances allow you to get it done every 10 weeks. Mine seem to wear off 2 to 3 weeks before my 12 weeks was up. I noticed you got some in the back of your head. My neurologist has never done that until this last time I had it done and she only did it on one side. I have a autoimmune disease which causes me to have chronic optical migraines and this one nerve in the back of my head and neck kills me. I'm hoping the botox helps 🙏in this area as well. For me the pain is uncomfortable, but it's worth it not to have a migraine everyday of my life. If you struggle with chronic migraines and tried everything like me and nothing has worked I say give botox a try. One thing to say is you won't notice until you 3rd time. Don't do botox one time and quit. My neurologist started off slow and by the 3rd time he told me I'd notice and he was 100% right. His PA now gives them to me and she's just as good.
Thank you for this comment!!! I really appreciate the details you gave about your own experience. I don't think my neurologist runs botox as a surgery code because I still have a portion covered by the botox savings program. I'm so happy it has helped you and hopefully the nerve in the back od your head will relax with botox!
@@sunshineandpainthank you. So far so good. I wish I knew what code your neurologist office uses. I don't feel like it's a surgery. Shots yes, but not surgery.
Why does they brain 🧠 chemistry 🧪 change in the first place
Thank you for sharing. So informative! Wish you continued success! I start mine next month...nervous and anticipation at the same time@
Oh how exciting! Best of luck and I'd love to hear an update!
Thank you for sharing. I had a brain aneurysm 20 yrs. ago. I have migraines for years. Now I have a mass of scar tissue and my neurosurgeon set up Botox shots for me. I start them on 3/9/24. I pray that they help.
Praying they help you. I would love to hear an update!
I started antidepressants to control my anxiety and depression i had anxiety so bad that it was affecting my blood pressure and i gained over 50 pounds from having depression i started with 5mg of lexapro but it wasn't helping so my doctor recommended switching to 20mg of celexa and its been doing great for me
So glad celexa has worked for you! I hope your body can heal from everything it has been going through.
Started Wellbutrin and it helped immensely with getting things done and finding motivation and has made me feel more positive about life. Just added Celexa; I hope that helps with my anxiety. I struggle a lot with worrying and the physical symptoms of anxiety still unfortunately. Thanks for sharing your story and perspective. Hope for continued success and positive vibes for you and everyone reading this.. ❤
Thanks for sharing your success story and for the well wishes! I truly hope the celexa helps with the anxiety.
Have you ever heard about "PSSD"?
I just googled it! I hadn't heard that acronym before.
Hey i'm on 30 mg of celexa and it suddenly stopped working and now i'm suicidal depressed again thanks for this video, i'll come back to this video to give me hope.
I'm so sorry. It is the worst place to be. Maybe a medication switch would help? I've had to adjust my meds several times over the last few years and just getting something different or adjusting doses usually helps. Hope you find peace and healing.
I’m at a 6 and half right now but therapy, low dose lexapro and the lord is helping me come to terms with it all. 5 years of chronic conditions and 9 years of issues leading up to it all. Great video
Sounds like you have worked hard to get where you're at. Praise God for His grace and love. I hope things continue to get better for you.
@@sunshineandpain thank you. The lord has helped me every step of the
Omg my neuro prescribed it as well and it didn’t help me but still yet took it for 3 years but then i stopped abruptly and now cant sleep its been over a year ! My life is destroyed
Nooooo I'm so sorry
😢❤
I'm terrified of reactions because my system is sensitive. But im now bed ridden and have to be pushed in a wheelchair because im so dizzy. 24/7 migraines. Im scared. Rather die than live like this. But scared shots could give me anniphilactic shock loke other drugs
That's so many things to consider. I'm so sorry. I was bedridden for twoish years and it was absolutely horrible. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Hopefully your doctor can give you some good guidance. ❤️
@@sunshineandpain I may give it a go. Can't live like this. I've contemplated attempting to end my life many times now. I may ask for a small dose to test and hopefully I'll do ok. I was already sick for years with other ailments. I honestly would go back to my endometriosis pain over this if I had to pick. And that was excruciating.
@AshRaeplays I've heard the pain from endometriosis is absolutely horrible. Praying you find some kind of relief.

You take all three meds in the title?
No. I have tried all three meds, but I'm not currently taking these three meds.

Right now I'm on Zoloft and Wellbutrin for my depression and the only migraine meds that have worked have been Botox injections for chronic migraines. My neurologist gives them to me 4 times a year and they have drastically reduced my migraines.

Did u gain weight on Celexa? I can't loose weight on it
I did gain weight around the time I started antidepressants. There were other factors that contributed though, so I don't think it was just the antidepressants. The weight gain is definitely something to consider when weighing pros and cons. When I look at the weight gain I had, which was probably 10-15 pounds, it is a small price to pay for being emotionally stable. Obviously it's different for everyone though. 😊

I'm surprised the doctor isn't wearing gloves.
I remember the sudden switch in my mood after a few weeks on Zoloft. I felt no change until one day at work I realized I was really engaging in conversation, laughing, just vibing. The biggest thing was how quiet my mind was. It was silent unless I actually picked something to think about, which I didn't even know was possible. Then I stopped taking it after a while thinking I could replicate the feeling on my own. Even though nothing too bad was happening in my life, I was unable to get back to that state. It's been a couple of years now and not once have I felt how I felt when I was on Zoloft. I guess I'm not as bad as I was pre Zoloft. I stopped drinking, I lowered my regular consumption of sugar and caffeine to keep my mood in check, I exercise regularly, and I'm not struggling financially. I've tried a lot of things to have a fulfilling life, but throughout it all my mind couldn't cross into that blissful zone anymore. I'm thinking about putting those cleats back on. 😂
This was very well written! I relate so much to your experience. I'm glad you were able to feel a difference with Zoloft - being able to quiet my own thoughts has been such a gift for me! Good luck with your decision.
The devil only sends his strongest attacks toward the people on this earth that are God’s most precious and special chosen people. If you are going through what feels like hell, keep your head up and just keep taking little steps forward because God will see you through. It may feel like God is not there, but He is. Just remember the devil sends his strongest attack on God’s best. Remember the story of Job.
Thank you for this comment. ❤️ I have felt God meet me where I'm at and be strengthened by Him. I love when Job says, "the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." Have a blessed day.
@@sunshineandpain Thank you! Just trying to encourage others as I also have pain. I have daily headaches on top of depression over the headaches. My doctor has tried the TCAs imipramine and nortriptyline which help the pain some, but make me feel tired. I’m now trying bupropion xl, but I’m so scared it’s going to mess me up. I took the first pill yesterday and it made me feel different. Not really in a good way, but not necessarily in a bad way either. I felt mostly nauseated and headache…headache is what I’m trying to get rid of though..
Don’t say side effects without saying exactly what they were so we have a full picture
why are white women like 20-40 times more likely to be on/prescribed antidepressants than POC women in America? I mean, if you see a graph of that - its unbelievable, especially for the women 40+ even though poc women are more likely to be sexual abuse survivors; more likely to be substance abusers; up to 10-20 times more likely to be victims of homicide, and i believe also more likely to commit suicide. yet they are not being targeted by any industry to put them on prozac.

Hi Sunshine and pain. My name is Lori and I wake up every single day with a migraine. I know your video is a year old, but I have a question. I just had my 3rd round of Botox injections 2 weeks ago. I know everyone is different, but if you could please tell me how many rounds did it take for you? I have bad side effects of worse migraines and flu like symptoms. I need hope please. 💠😔
Hi Lori! I had improvement after my first injections, but it didn't take full affect until after my third round of Botox. I'm so sorry you've had such painful side effects. I truly hope you can find relief. ❤️
I’ve been taking nortriptyline for about 5 days now and it’s been making me feel real weird I had a small panic attack, heart beats fast, dry mouth, and my appetite is completely gone I haven’t eat all day idk if I should continue to take them or not my neurologist office is closed for the day can and I don’t know if I’m overreacting or what if anyone give me some feedback if they’ve had a similar experience ?
So sorry. I would call the neurologist tomorrow. They may have an after hours phone number you could contact today? Best of luck!
I’ve seen that if it causes fast heart rate you should probably stop taking it. Definitely ask your prescribing doctor though to make sure.
