My goal is to make relaxing fishing videos that may help you forget about your problems, if only just for a short time. I hope you enjoy watching my videos half as least half as much as I do making them. Just relax and watch. Semper Fi

Why did you throw it Back? : )
I usually practice "CPR" Catch, Photo. Release. I do keep fish to eat on occasion but not that day. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Sweet!
Was Big Foot reeling it in for you?
😁
reminder to self, get out the Broans and clip arms.
Thanks for watching!
My Bro In Law hooked into a 16 lb Channel.... was quite awhile before he could get back to the Crappie.
Wow! That's a huge Channel Catfish. Here in Virginia, 12lbs is a citation for a Channel. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@justrelaxandfish The Angler Award in KS is 33" for Channel and the State record is 38" at 36.5 lbs. He caught the Channel in OK who's state record is 35 lbs 15 oz. I can't find their Reg on Angler Award. A 33" er weights about 15 lbs so it may have been in an award class.
@@eldandonsmith5372 Virginia regs for a trophy Channel Cat is 30" or 12lbs.
I'd rather watch the line and the water rather than your hairy arms.
My grandpa told me takes lotta patience to be a fisherman. Well now I know it takes a lot of patience to watch a fishing video.
Thanks for watching! Thanks for having the patience to comment.
😂😂😂
Was wondering if he took 2 hooks out of that fish.
Good question! I only found 1 hook. Thanks for commenting!
Nice fish
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice fish buddy
Thanks for watching!
Bowed up! Love it❤
On first I thought it was a alligator 🐊 it look crazy
Now that would have been something! Thanks for watching!😁
I love bass that fight like they’re 20 lbs 😭
Yeah, some bass are all attitude! Thanks for watching and commenting!
What a humpback. Great catch.
When I saw the big splash I knew that this was not your average fish. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow
Nice catches!!
Now that IS a good fish!😊
Had a room mate years ago that had hairy arms like this man, our professor asked him when you die may I have your pelt
😁
Crappie are soft mouth reeling to fast and hard will tear the hook out of their mouth and will be lost before you can land them
IT did not break your line, YOU did...
I certainly contributed but, I did only have one end of the line.
@@justrelaxandfish indeed, you had one end of the line. but you also had a lot of line before that end would eventually have been reached...
@@janvanruth3485 You may not be aware that I was fishing in the branches of a sunken tree. I was thumbing the reel to keep the fish from getting wrapped around more than one limb. I really wasn't expecting a striper to eat my crappie minnow. If I let the fish strip drag and get wrapped up in a bunch of limbs I would lose it anyway. If you watched the whole video you saw that I switched to a rod more suited to land a large fish in heavy cover. Thanks for your comments!
I'm guessing that the Crappie were long gone after that. Would have expected that Striper to swim around and wrap up all of your other lines, swim under the boat, etc. LOL.
Definately spooked the crappie! Luckily I was able to land the striper without it getting into my other line or wrapping around one of the limbs of the brushpile I was fishing. Thanks for commenting!
Damn brother you have some HAIRY ass arms! Are you a Bigfoot fisherman?😆
Haven't done any fishing in a while. 2 nice catches. No doubt it's a striped bass but I thought they lived really deep?
Stripers can be found shallow at times depending on several factors such as water temperature, oxygen content of the water, time of day, and an available food source. I was fishing in 17 feet of water at the time and there were shad in the area as well as crappie and bluegill. You can always get surprised by the occasional striper even if you think there are none closeby. Thanks for the comment!
I enjoyed every second of your video. What a beautiful lake and nice set up you have. Thanks for taking the time to record and share with us.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the nice comment!
You must not have been very hungry.
@@ronaldking2435 I'll keep a couple of crappie or maybe one striper on occasion. This trip was just for fun. When I do keep fish to eat it is a special day because I haven't had a fish dinner in awhile. I don't freeze fish for future meals. I fish quite often and always have the option to keep a couple if I'm fortunate enough to actually catch a fish.😁
Walter?!!
Walter?
@@justrelaxandfish Guess you’re younger than I am. Grumpy Old Men movie. Two men trying to catch the same huge fish.
@@jwhite9825 Maybe not younger, maybe poor memory!😁
@@justrelaxandfish lol
That's what happens when you don't have your drag set correctly!!! 😢
I guess he's never eaten one
Yes, you got to get up mighty early to find and then catch them before the ski boats, party cruisers and the ski-doos hit the water. Which lake(s) do you go to? I visit Jocassee, Keowee, and Hartwell in Upstate SC.
This is Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. I am counting the days until Labor Day. The kids are back in school and the summertime boaters head back to wherever they came from. Better days coming! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@justrelaxandfish We rented a house on Smith Mountain when my youngest son was graduating from Liberty University in Lynchburg back in 2017. It looked like a nice lake, but we were not there for that. Thanks for the info!
Enjoyed the video. Nice catch! I have a pontoon that me and family use to fish out of. I love having the room to move about. What lake is this?
Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. I like a pontoon for a number of reasons. No stepping up and down on a casting deck is one of them. I'm not runnin' and gunnin' looking for fish so I don't need the speed of a bass boat. I don't fish tournaments anymore and my only competitor is the fish. Thanks for the comment!
Never seen a fisherman not be able to set his drag right
Yawn….yawn….gone at 2 mins
Ooooh noooo! So sorry.
Nice little striper
yo dummy get a left hand reel
👇 try fishing for real instead of on a video game
I think you may be confusing my video with one where forward facing sonar is being used to catch fish. Sorry, I don't have one.
nice catch it's only going to get bigger let someone else have some fun
I'm all for that!
@@justrelaxandfish i hear ya
Do they get much bigger in that spot? We get monsters here at Lake Mead; but they have all room in the world.
@@bobsmith6544 The record Striped Bass caught at Smith Mountain Lake so far is 49.4 lbs. The current state record for the fish is 53 lbs. 7 oz. caught in 2000 from below the SML dam in Leesville Lake.
Awesome job !!!!!!!
Thanks!
Don't huas ya fish, Take ya time, Work the drag
Thanks for the comment!
Hi, I couldn't believe my eyes but I have fished that spot many time for many years at SML. There are several more great spots nearby too but I'm sure you know that. Thanks for sharing I miss that place.
You just never know what you'll catch on Smith Mountain Lake. There's a huge muskie in the area too. Maybe I'll get him to bite sometime!
@justrelaxandfish lived in the Midwest and musky and walleye are what I was raised on. Never had musky on or follow there but I know they're around. I hope you get him.
@@jrz7325 If I do it'll be luck since I don't fish for muskie. Thanks for the comments!
I’m betting it was catfish hunter
