CTW Probe© Software - Creating a Shock Adjustment Test
In this video, we build a Test that allows you to capture your data as you adjust your damper. By running the same speed and using the Prompt command, you can start at fully closed and begin to change the adjuster between speeds and get one data file with all the adjustments of the damper. This video walks you thru adding items to your Probe© test. These additional commands include:
* Prompt - this allows you to stop the Test so that you can make a change to the damper and then continue

No e-mail signup, spam or other. ctwautomation.com/support/software-shock-dyno/ Every time we release an update, we simply update the page. This makes it easy to use across multiple computers and people within a business or to share with friends and share the data files. You do not need a dyno or a Support package to use this.

    Thanks for the video. I see from the displacement data that there are lots of sharp points. I would think that the tire and weight of the vehicle would round off would make immediate compression and rebound nearly impossible. I am not sure if this is a lack of data collected per second or another issue. It would be interesting to run the displacement log file through Excel and find the maximum compression and rebound rate. Rebound should match the spring and damping rate. I have a lot to learn but thanks for the video.

    I am guessing it is a bleed problem. Not enough bleed or maybe a check valve and shock not able to dissipate the pressure stored in the shock fast enough or some voodoo piston that impedes pressure relief. Just a guess. Could also be that the shock is just barely topping out on the dyno.

    I take that time series data and run it through an FFT. That reveals a lot about what a damper goes through and can improve your design and development process.
