Yes you're right. This is the seagull 1963 homage from AliExpress. The Sea-Gull version has no see-through case back. I think the Red Star version does. Too many people claim this watch as their original. Doesn't hurt to have an affordable homage version with a great movement inside 👍

Yeah they quietly dropped 3 new colors in January and now are updating their catalog again with new releases of the Casioak! Personally, I love this blue and it's going to be a fun color all through the summer!

Ooof! Million dollar question! Short answer: it depends but likely yes. Long answer: There are at least 3 versions of this watch. One is the $150 version, another sold by Seagull1963 for the range you mentioned, and another sold by Sea-Gull for about $550-700. All 3 use the Seagull ST19 movement made by Sea-Gull (who make about 20% of all mechanical movements). So which is the real watch??? I don't know anymore haha. For the price, they're really good! I'm not a huge fan of clomage watches so haven't tried it on but a similar case size with a unique dial is the sand dune dial 36mm addiesdive in this video and for under $50 is a great looking watch with a reliable meca-quartz movement and good finishing! The bracelet is a hair puller though. I expect a similar performance from the explorer clomage!

I own several and am amazed at the quality for the money. Never have I been disappointed.

It's hard to go wrong for that price really! You can barely get a meal out for two at a mid range restaurant for that price!

Not all AliExpress watches are bad. For example brands like Sea-Gull are legit watchmakers who don't even need to be on AliExpress but while they are, we should take full advantage! 😄 Also San Martin makes some great quality original design watches for sub $200. More such examples out there. I do appreciate you taking the time to comment here.

Yikes good catch! The video was probably recorded at an odd time (1 AM 😅) so day/date was just changing to the next one. Hence the mid-change view. The watch works just fine knock on wood 🙂

Appreciate you taking time to comment here. I don't think these are fake discounts. I've been tracking Seagull watch prices on Chinawatchshop and Seagull's own website and almost all in the video are cheaper on AliExpress. In fact Seagull is such a legit brand, they don't even need to be on AliExpress (but while they are, we should make the most of it! 😅). San Martin's website matched the price during the Anniversary Sale on select items but presently even they are priced higher than AliExpress.

@@CocLegend317 depends on the watch and the model. Vostok is known for it's affordable mechanical watches inspired by their military usage with interesting patterns on the dial. Their Amphibia models usually come with an automatic movement and the Komandirskie comes with a hand-winding mechanical movement. That said, they are far from the best mechanical movement out there :)

If you're looking for an automatic watch like that (assuming affordable) you should probably consider a Seiko, Citizen or Orient. If you have access to Chinese watch brands then maybe a Sea-Gull or a San Martin (uses Seiko movement). The movement accuracy is better in all of the above vs a Vostok. If you're ok going -20/+60 sec a day then go for a Vostok.
