For $200 I may as well buy a new tripod with the mount already.
Sure, you could go out and spend $200 on a brand-new tripod-but why would you, especially if you already own a perfectly good one? With this simple conversion, you can easily upgrade your existing tripod to mount Arca-compatible accessories, retain the original clamp, and attach anything else that uses a standard camera mount. It's a versatile solution that saves you money while maximizing functionality. Of course, if you're buying a tripod for the very first time, investing in the right one makes sense. But if you've already got the gear, this upgrade is a no-brainer. Thanks so much for watching-see you in the next one!
@lupooutdoors because I could mount a Camera/Spotting scope and a rifle at the same time now. It's just overpriced considering you can buy it with a tripod for pretty much the same price.
@ please re-read my response. And thanks again for watching
@@lupooutdoors please re read mine. I already own one. If I got the adapter I'd still have one, but I'd have bought it twice. I'd rather get a Tripod with the attachment already on it. Then I'll have two, instead of buying 1 twice...
@ why would two make any sense at all? Bog’s are not 200. So, in a nutshell feel free to buy a cheap tripod with an Arca Rail and good luck. I’ll stick with the Bog Death Grip. I do very much appreciate your opinion and feedback!
Ball mount from Amazon and Arca plate from ZFG is the least expensive route. .223 and 9mm pressed together for the inner spacer works flawless.
To do this right, it requires more than just a ball mount and Arca plate. Rigging it with the 223 and 9mm will prob work for a bit of time, but I would not trust it for heavier rifles and prolong use. Thanks so much for watching!

How do you call to the hens? I’ve never heard of this
When turkey hunting, you can call to hens by mimicking their vocalizations. Here are some tips for calling to hens: Start soft: Begin with a short series of soft *yelps. Match the hen's volume: If the hen gets loud, you can get loud too. Mimic her calls: If the hen responds with clucks or yelps, you can try mimicking her calls. Add movement: Hens are often in groups and move as they call, so you can try adding movement with sound to make your calls more convincing. Don't give up: If the hen is fired up, don't quit. The *yelp is a two-note call that's considered the main building block of turkey calling. It starts with a high-pitched "kee" sound and ends with a lower-pitched "yuk" sound. I hope this helped! Thank you for watching and Please Subscribe if you have not already!

The brass will not contain the pressure and expansion in the firing of a round. It is the Chamber that contains the case as it expands, and keeps the brass from rupturing as it flows to fill the chamber. Thin brass is not the issue, if it was when you forced the bolt open you would have torn the case head off the brass most likely. Thick brass or any condition that reduces the case capacity would be the most likely issue with the brass. As you reduce case capacity the pressure given a static powder volume increase. Inconsistent case volume from a case head that varies in thickness eating up case volume for example. Thin brass almost always shows up as case splitting or case body separations. Most likely that ammo is loaded to pressure beyond acceptable levels. This could be due to over charge of powder. The wrong powder being mixed in during the blending process at the plant. (a great deal of factory ammo is a blended powder) Powder that has degraded or damaged through handling. (tumbling live ammo can cause this issue, as many powders have a coating to reduce burn rate, and the coating has been damaged) Variation of primers (power of primer or amount of priming compound) such as testing a load pressure with one primer and then switching primers somewhere in the process. Or developing a load with one bullet then switching bullets, even from one lot to the other causing more resistance as the bullet hits the forcing cone and rifling. This can be due to length of the bullet or bullet jacket toughness or thickness. You have to work up loads with each bullet even if you substitute one 150gr for another 150gr made by another company or a different design or lot by the same maker. One way to check pressure (in the simplest form) is to look for signs of expansion of the case head area. Loose primer pockets, flattened primers, brass flowing into the extractor or ejector voids in the bolt face. Any time you have difficult bolt lift STOP... If it gets to the point you are pounding the bolt open on a bolt action rifle you are way over pressure. and could be in danger. As reloaders of our ammo we get a lesson in these thing from the first reloading manual we buy, the first chapters are always about signs of pressure, and how it effects the case. And we work up loads with a chronograph to watch for pressure spikes. If you have those cases buy or borrow a reloading manual and compare it to photos in a good manual and I bet you will see pressure signs. Or post good photos of the cases on this channel and I bet guys that reload and make wildcats like myself will see signs and point them out to you. What saved you is bolt actions are extremely tough, and have safeguards for ruptured cases, and over charges and gas venting features built into the action. The military developed the bolt action and the basis of the actions most often used, were built at a time before we had temperature stable powders. Meaning the design had to account for ammo shipped half way around the world, and being fired in rifles so hot you could barely touch them. If the ammo you are talking about destroyed bolt action rifles in others hands the pressures must have been way over! Pointing to a real problem with the amount or type of powder used would be my best guess as I have seen 300+ FPS over max with minimal bolt lift difficulty.
Thank you for your detailed response and for sharing your perspective on the issue. I greatly value the input from experienced reloaders like yourself, and I’d like to take this opportunity to address some key points you raised, while also providing additional context from my own experience. 1. My Background in Reloading: I’ve been reloading ammunition for over 25 years, and in that time, I’ve learned to recognize the signs of overpressure and other issues that can arise with both factory and handloaded ammunition. This experience has given me a strong foundation for understanding ammunition performance, and I’m confident in my ability to identify when something is wrong. 2. The Experiment with ZSR Ammunition: As you rightly mentioned, brass plays an important role in how a round performs in a rifle. To better understand the issue with ZSR ammo, I conducted a controlled experiment. I pulled the bullet, powder, and primer from several ZSR rounds and reloaded them into completely different brass. I used both new and once-fired brass from reputable manufacturers, including PMC Bronze, Federal Premium Gold Medal, and Hornady Precision. Here are the results: New rounds from PMC, Federal, and Hornady shot perfectly through the rifle without any issues. Reloaded rounds using the ZSR primer, powder, and bullet-but with PMC, Federal, or Hornady brass-also shot perfectly fine through the rifle. The only jamming we experienced was when using ZSR brass. The ZSR brass caused severe bolt jamming, which was consistent with the problems I had faced earlier. This experiment strongly suggests that the ZSR brass itself is the root cause of the issue, rather than factors like the powder, primer, or bullet. I believe this distinction is crucial because ZSR's denial of any issues with the lot fails to address the potential flaws in their brass. 3. Chamber vs. Brass: I understand that the chamber is responsible for containing the pressure and that the brass expands to fill the chamber. However, the quality of the brass is still vital in maintaining a proper seal and ensuring the safety of the firearm. While thinner brass may not always cause catastrophic failures, it can still lead to significant problems, such as the jamming I experienced. My findings indicate that ZSR's brass is inconsistent, which leads to the severe issues I encountered, even when the same components (bullet, powder, primer) worked fine in other brass. 4. Case Capacity and Overpressure: You raised important points about reduced case capacity potentially leading to increased pressures. However, the catastrophic nature of the failures seen with ZSR ammo suggests that this is more than a minor variance in case capacity. The fact that rifles were destroyed indicates pressures well beyond acceptable limits. While it’s possible that inconsistent case volumes contributed to this, the primary concern lies with the brass’s ability to handle the pressures safely. 5. Overpressure Causes: I agree with your insights about possible overcharging, the wrong powder blend, or improper quality control during the manufacturing process. However, based on the experiment I conducted, the ZSR brass itself seems to be the major contributing factor. The rounds with other manufacturers' brass showed no signs of overpressure or jamming, which leads me to believe that ZSR’s brass is either too weak or inconsistent in terms of wall thickness or quality control. 6. Pressure Signs: As you noted, there are clear signs of overpressure, such as loose primer pockets, flattened primers, or brass flowing into ejector voids. These signs were present with the ZSR brass, but notably absent when the same powder, primer, and bullet were used with other manufacturers’ brass. This further supports the conclusion that the brass quality is at fault. 7. Reloading Knowledge: While I appreciate your suggestion to consult a reloading manual and review pressure signs, I can confidently say that after reloading for over 25 years, I am well aware of these signs and always prioritize safety in my shooting practices. The experiment we conducted, and the consistency of failures with ZSR brass, point toward a manufacturing issue, not a problem with how the ammunition was loaded. 8. Final Thoughts: In conclusion, I believe the issues with ZSR ammo stem primarily from the brass itself. The fact that the powder, primer, and bullet performed perfectly fine when reloaded into other brass supports this conclusion. The severe jamming and destruction of firearms that occurred when using ZSR brass is unacceptable, and I maintain that ZSR's refusal to acknowledge any issues with the lot is deeply concerning. I hope this clears up some of the points you raised, and I appreciate the opportunity to engage in this discussion. If you have any further questions or insights, I’d be happy to continue the conversation. Best regards, Robert Lupo Lupo Outdoors
