Track from the album Ommadawn of 1975, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and complex pieces within the repertoire of the genius of Mike Oldfield.

Paddy's pipes would bring a tear to a glass eye
Thanks Michael...
Next year this album will be 50 years old, incredible and amazing. I only discovered it in 1990 as part of the "Boxed" album!
In particular, the section from 9:12 to 9:46 takes me back to Sigiriya, Sri Lanka in September 1982. I had just climbed to the top of Lion Rock and was blown away by the vista of the surrounding countryside spread out before me. I swear I could hear this section playing in my head. Unforgettable.
Oh, how we can scatter ourselves for nothing. What a great thing that there is music that reminds us of our heart! These here are tears!
Top 10 all times aöbim.⚘️💕
This also takes me back. What a beautiful piece of music. When stressed, I put my headphones on and RELAX. Luv it, Luv it, Luv it Sweet Dreams Everybody and god bless 😊

Part of my life and an inspiration to me since 1975. Woah! That's 49 years? Two-thirds of my lifetime and I still travel to Hergest Ridge for a bit of inner peace when I need to. Thank you, so very much, Mike.
Hi John ! we must be around the same age...early to mid-sixties? Ommadawn and Hergest Ridge have inspired me tremendously too. I was still in school and I remember the actual days I bought these two classics of my lifetime.
I was 17. Those were the days
I listened to this music a lot in my twenties. I prefer the original 1975 mix - despite any imperfections it may have, it has a lighter, more "airy" feel to it, which is perfect for this music.
Brig me Back too ,in the World of wonderful Times ,I was 20 ty jears old ,and the Girls was fantastic and the Sound was fantastic ,the live was wonderful .
The ending is one of my favourite guitar solos of all time.
I played this often to my son when he was small. He loved it and named it ''stars music''. I was hugely impressed.
The pied piper calling & leading us to his enchanted forest with eerie & strange singing and disquieting laughter afar with winds of whispers of fair voices calling our names to return and remember as if a distant memory were falling from a great height.
I believe that's a bodhran played around 12 mins. It's an Irish percussion instrument, with a double headed stick, (allowing a fast double beat by twisting the wrist) striking a circular drawn skin. The tone can be slightly tweaked by pulling on the cross strings spanning the back of it.
too many skips
❤oui WE came black from iceland ,whaouuuuuuu what a pied. Popopppoop❤
Better than Tubular Bells imo
Radio Luxemburg every night sometime most time
I listen b4 i sleep or when i cant it helps me alot in life 🖤
I was young loved it , cover always said jesus too me ?
11:15 to 11:46 - did OutKast base the backing track of their 2001 hit "Ms. Jackson" on that hook?! It's not identical to it, but it's uncannily similar, IMO (even more uncannily coincidentally, Mike had recorded a song called "Outcast" only a few years before that)...
Just gone from DSOTM to this. What an era for amazing music! I'm surprised Mike didn't collaborate with Pink Floyd. Would have seemed a good fit.
Unico, universal❤❤❤
'Ommadawn' is a phonetic of 'Amadán' in Irish, which means fool, so the chorus of 'tá amadán ag dul', means 'The fool is coming'.
Very sinister vibes starting out before the light

His masterpiece. Top 10 album of all times.❤❤ 1:03
No comment please
This is as far from today's manufactured, processed pop as it's possible to get. From a time when music could still be a labour of love.
Dub Techno Session - Atmospheric at Psychedelic Beach / Ambient and Chill 6 Hours mix 2023 Listening to Dub Techno on a Psychedelic Beach The setting was a remote and untouched beach, where soft sand extended as far as the eye could see, kissed by the crystal-clear waters of the ocean. Under a clear, starry sky, the full moon cast its silver light upon the landscape, creating a magical and ethereal atmosphere. It was a perfect night for a unique auditory experience. People danced barefoot in the sand, their movements flowing in harmony with the music, as if they were embodying the very ocean waves. The sublime rhythms and ever-evolving sound patterns created a sensation of floating, as if everyone was being carried by an invisible current of sonic energy. As the night progressed, the Dub Techno music induced a state of moving meditation. The sound became a means to transcend the everyday reality, a passage to a realm where time was fluid, and concerns dissolved. The gentle ocean breeze carried with it a salty and fresh fragrance, while the moon's rays touched the people's skin, intensifying the feeling of connection with nature and the cosmos. The sound of the ocean in the background blended with the music, creating a dialogue between nature and human expression. As the night unfolded, Dub Techno revealed layers of complexity and depth, as if each note were a star in the sonic sky, guiding all listeners on an introspective journey. It was as if the music were the soundtrack for exploring the depths of the mind and soul. When the sun began to rise on the horizon, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, the music softened, giving way to a sense of tranquility and contemplation. People gathered on the beach to witness the spectacle of the sunrise, grateful for having shared this unique experience. Listening to Dub Techno on a psychedelic beach was not just a musical experience; it was a sensory and spiritual journey. It served as a reminder that music has the power to transcend barriers and connect us with something greater, something that resonates deeply within our souls and reminds us of the beauty and magic of the universe. ua-cam.com/video/mBVMWGqkwHM/v-deo.htmlsi=sMNstaV-JOUAPu5z
Wonderful! Thanks!
Cierra los ojos y con la atención sonora a volar
The first five minutes are like all the sorrows in the world being delivered up to heaven.
That's a beautiful idea. I'm playing a piano version this weekend.
Omuamua. This is the living proof of coming out of a dream with a happy ending.
I would always put this on when I was reading ''Dune'' - F. Herbert, I would burn cinnamon incense and replay the album over and over while I read, it's how I became a Kwisatz Haderach know your lore

Solch nette Nachrichten wünsch ich jedem LKW Fahrer der jetzt gerade unterwegs ist. ! und allen anderen Nachtschichtlern, Danke !
I was 14 listening back in 1975 on my older brothers record player. Oddly enough right now back in his old bedroom listening again aged 62. He's long gone and my parents but this is some kind of time travel. Back then it felt both old and futuristic at the same time and that feeling still persists. Forwards backwards forwards backwards.
Guauuuuuu!!!!. Has pulido tu música. Tu esencia!!! Has madurado de una Forma increíble!!!!
