Restoration of Adjustable Baggage Cart

Restoration of Adjustable Baggage Cart
I took my grandson to the polar express a couple of years ago, I saw them filling up the loco with the garden hose, the radiator leak explains that
is that a P3 on here?
I do plan to come here and work when i get my degree in science and engineering :)
and i still hope to see 643 or O&GE 123 run in the not to distant future
Those rain caps on the exhaust stacks definitely served the engine well.
Excellent work! Locomotive machinist Local 620
Are yall going to use it to pull the Halloween train?
The F unit 814 will be pulling the Halloween train. The Baldwin has an issue that Mechanical is currently working on.
The Baldwin VO-1000M is currently still down for restoration and repairs right now. Don't expect it to be pulling excursions just yet
Great stuff remember me when you're rich and famous
Thanks! We’re just sharing what’s it like around the museum with our volunteers. 👍😎.
They need more volunteers to keep the museum and trains running
Isnt that in the most railway Museums or is it just in my Country
#4648 formerly Frisco #206 roars to life once more and #4648 sure has a nice horn. Restoration work on #4648 has begun. They know what they're doing with this VO-1000M
Awesome ❤❤
That’s a beautiful thing…
Even though this Baldwin diesel locomotive is re-engined with an EMD prime mover it’s nice to hear a 567B purr for the first time in a long time
It isn’t a C block. It is a B block with perhaps a C cylinder conversion. The little stud on the side of the cylinder head is the giveaway. They function the same way though. The other spotting features of an A, B, cast steel, and early fabricated blocks are the square air box and crank case covers. The oldest I have worked one was built October of 1941 and the newest were the Go Transit MP40-3s.
I was gonna say, that's a Roots blower if I ever heard one! 😂
@@ryandavis7593 there I re-edited my comment changing the letter C to B thank you for pointing that out
@@TexasRailfan21-RailfanRyan No problem. It does sound really good.
@@ryandavis7593 I agree even though it’s not it’s original Baldwin locomotive prime mover the important thing is it still runs
Wow great job!!!
814 is a sexy Beast, love those EMD Streamliners
Lol nice one guys
Spooky spooky
Joking around while performing Maintenance on Frisco #814
She’s beautiful, love those EMD F’s💛💛
She’s gorgeous, love those EMD F’s 💛
neat
What days are yall doing this?
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the month of October, except the last weekend which is our Halloween train. You can find out more and book a ride at www.wheelsonrailsmi.com/
@@OklahomarailwaymuseumOrgok thanks
Riding the rail bike. Cool
Pure pedal power on the ORM tracks.
Hope that it came with a large supply of cylinder head gaskets. Baldwin engines tend to blow them frequently.
Excellent I’d always drive by on I-35 and try to see what I could see Need to go up from here in Texas and spend some time
They need all help they can get.
Love seeing MKT 48 putting in work! Especially when its helping bring new power to the roster!
Show de vídeo , parabéns !!
I was trained to operate one of them at Fort Eustis Virginia
I’ll be there!! I can’t wait
Tell us more where you picked this up at?
Will do! I have some behind the scenes footage when we fired the diesel engine up for the first time… I’ll get with the ORM president and see if he can do an interview about the acquisition.
Sounds great as ever! Nothing like hearing a 567 at idle !!! Good to see the old girl is still running ! Keep up the good work guys !
P.S. I'll assume that the air leak in the brake stand is fixed
Interesting collection, . . . .
What a beautiful RS3L 48 has
What do you guys plan on repainting your t?
Eventual plans call for this VO-1000M to be repainted back into Frisco colors to also represent the Frisco like #814.
@@OfficialSEIC2K6 Ooh, was it a ex frisco?
@@CoreythelordoftheIsles yes
COOL CATCH!
Great video 👍😎
Too cool on the Baldwin guys!
My two Baldwin VO-1000's only have 1 exhaust stack. Mine were built for Pennsylvania and Reading. Of course they're HO scale brass engines. I know the Central of Georgia had one Baldwin VO-600 that had 4 exhaust stacks. Since I used to live in Jonesboro, GA, I model the Central of Georgia. Cheers from eastern TN
One stack means the motor was turbocharged and 4 stacks means the motor was normally aspirated.
Though it is a Baldwin at the cab and frame, the power plant and hood are EMD.
@@Repairman87Thanks! I have been somewhat curious of this, with the many of those serving SMS Rail in NJ, in that industrial park.
@@gregdavis3439Really?!
@@Repairman87 Thanks for the clarification on the stacks. I often wondered about why some had 4 and others only 1. Cheers - eastern TN
Is there still any plans for 643? I really want it to return to steam
Operated by the Central Oklahoma Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, they need all the help they can get.
None of the Katys hybrid Balwins ever saw green, but a handful of the Friscos got to wear mandarin orange n white.
👍 It’s originally Frisco #206 built in 1942 and operated into the late 70s. It will be painted Frisco mandarin orange and white.
I was fooled. I thought it was originally Frisco #203
Since Katy n Frisco both had repowered Baldwins who gets to decide if you're gonna paint it black, or red?
This one was Frisco #206. I was mistaken and thought it was Frisco #203. It did wear Mandarin Orange and White, that's what they plan to paint it up as.
looks like a place I'd love to see with all those swithers there ,my favorite engines
who owned the green swithcers b4
what is the mkt rail road company stand for thyank u
MKT is Missouri Kansas Texas railroad. Despite the #48 being painted to look like a Missouri Kansas Texas switcher it never served them. It served the US Army during the Korean War and later years.
I remember seeing that loco on a Virtual Railfan video awhile back.
Yea me too. Its now at home at the ORM.
