What would you advise to use to remove the glue residue on the headliner?
Acetone
Nice work. Now I know why it’s so pricy to get leather seats repaired. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Exactly!
Do you have photos once all of this was installed in the Range rover Classic?
No, I do ask people to send photos but very few of them do
I have a 1989 Rover. I'm having an LS3 fitted currently. I will shoot you a message, Id love to have you do the door cards, dash, and center console. It gives a enhanced look without doing too much as I feel so many company's do to where its unrecognizable to me as a land rover interior.
Ok I hope to hear from you in the near future
Will be repairing a R57 Cooper this weekend with a similar window failure, but at the top side of the glass. Thanks for the video, makes the job look less daunting, for sure.
Good luck!
Superb !
Thanks a lot
The seam or stitch line underneath the window switches seem to be slightly crooked compared to the original one, is that something that can be touched upon or is that done once it is glued or stitched? Regardless of that it was an interesting video, thanks.
Yeah noticed myself. Did you use a twin needle machine ?
When the card was on the door that wasn't noticeable
When the card was on the door that wasn't noticeable
No just a single needle machine
I liked the design of the dash in that particular age of Range Rover but the sound of you moving those pieces around illustrates how cheap they were. The finished article looks superb - its how the original should have been! It would be very interesting to see the same thing done to an early Rover SD1.
a lot of the parts are very flimsy plastic and some are made from more sturdy plastic, its probably a cost issue
Beautiful work, would love this in my car. I was just thunking if it might be easier to cover the originally veneered piece of dash with the vents compared to the plastic one you showed. The vents are different on the veneered ones, they have a frame covering the edge of the veneer. You would not have to shape the leather, but just cut the holes, especially if you remove the veneer and keep the plywood only. Only the holes for the clock and the mirror adjustment are "unframed".
That would be much easier but you may have to thin the leather or sand the plywood so that the vents will fit
Very satisfying to watch this Range Rover project evolving. There’s no substitute for old fashioned knowledge and craftsmanship. Thanks for the content.
Glad you enjoy it!
very nice
Thanks
Beautiful work
Thank you! Cheers!

Great job! Thanks for not editing out when things don't quite go to plan, always good to see the reality. Like you say these things can happen. Keep the videos comming. 👍
Thanks for your support
Sewing together pieces for a Mercedes dash, i do this for work, good video.
Cool, thanks
Great job. What tool are you using to remove the plastic spotwelds?
A countersink bit
Wow great vid. Is there a module inside of the roof light switch panel? My scanner reports some errors there, which is strange cause it's never been removed. The roof module fuse is okay. I am suspecting the module to be 'defective' caused by low voltage on batteries and a faulty alternator, and this video very clearly shows how to dive in! So thank you!
I think there is one at the front and one at the back
Question!!!! Is there a “frame” that holds the shape around the opening for the glass?!? Mine broke off and I’m nervous.
It’s just a frame that holds the headliner in around the window
@@coastalcushionco8227okay I was just curious!! The glue melted off with the frame and window and I’m crossing fingers that it can be repaired and glued back together.
What type of glue did you use? Can you post a picture of the box? Thank you
It’s called webtack from trade grade products
Thanks for sharing, will definitely be trying that !
Good luck
@@coastalcushionco8227 I'm sure I'm going to need it, you make it look easy but I know its super difficult, if I don't try I'll never improve. Thanks for your videos, they are inspirational !
@@alanmarklew6850 thanks for the kind words
Very nice work! It would be nicer if new leather were high quality like oem was. New leather seemed cheapo stuff.
There are many grades of leather but some people don’t want to pay for the best quality
Question I did what you said I put bunch of pillows and boxes to put pressure on the glass after I put the goop all the way around Glass sailer how long do I leave the Support in the back of the car for the stuff to dry up one day two days thanks
Only a few hours
Hello you should sell templates to the centre console. I have a defender 90 and would be keen to make one up with a template.

great😀

interesting
how i wish to push my 75 same condition
even the colour?
@@coastalcushionco8227 it doesn’t looks bad, but in my opinion it’s too bright for his interior, the best i could wish might be factory deep green color scheme
@@BaddyPiga cool
Could you please share the name of the fabric you used for the canopy?
Its called Mohair
Great work!!
Thanks a lot!
Excellent video thanks 👍👍
No problem 👍
Would like no what primer you used on the glass please
Hi, this is a fantastic and informative video. I would like to do the upper dash in my VW T5, I assume i need to remove the whole dashboard. have you done this and if so could you give me some advise please? I haven't found a video on this on UA-cam yet.
yes you will have to remove the whole dash. make sure that you prep the dash before doing any gluing. And an extra pair of hands may be helpful. Also cut the material that you will be using oversize, you can always trim of the excess later
@@coastalcushionco8227 thank you

Nice job 👍🏼
Thank you! Cheers!
I had never seen another seat shrink like mine did. Now it makes sense. Im still not sure how mine ended up as stretched as it did, im assuming it was just water and heat from sitting in the sun.
But unfortunately after watching this, my best option is replacing it. I have a steamer, and probably the patience to try ......but not the equipment to sew leather. Thank you for the video.
getting wet and then drying out very quickly will do it
How many hours?
about 2
How long did you take to do that ?
About 2 hours
Thank you for your response. I have the same issue on two of my seat damaged by airbags. And wanted to have an idea of how long can a professional take to fix it if it’s black leather!
Thanks for great information.
Glad it was helpful!

Hello what a beautiful Craftsmanship!!! Congrats for the great work! What is the thickness of the leather you use on those trim elements in order for them to fit perfectly?
it is about 1mm thick but I thin it in places so it fits better
