      Don you are right, the brakes on this car are something else, and it does feel like hitting them is like hitting a tree around a slower circuit or hillclimb track, but pulling up 1.8t of car from over 200kph in such a short distance really tests them for sure. For a near 2 tonne car, the upgrades have most certainly turned it into a car that manoeuvres like it was half a tonne lighter. It's a very quick car and well done. I think there is a mid/high 38 in it. Particularly at turns 2 & 4, I think you should be staying out wide to the right before the corner, turning in later and clipping the apex where the cone is. This will increase your minimum speed mid corner, and your exit speed and you will gain a lot more in the following straight. p.s. I was the flag marshall near the last corner.

      I know there have been some issues with the earleir B9 engines, however the later versions (late 2018 onwards) dont seem to have the issue. It's also not as common issue as the internet makes it out to be and with regular servicing, you should not have any issues at all. I give mine an oil change every couple of events it competes in, so it is constantly being checked and refreshed. Never had any major issues with mine. Had a very slow drip leak from a hard coolant line, but that was easily fixed. I think mine to date is a testiment of how reliable they are when well serviced as the car has not had an easy life, as my channel has demonstrated.

      @gnkVLCT without sending a VIN No. to an Audi technician, there is no way to 100% confirm exactly when they updated the rocker arms on the B9 platform. Mine is now on 45k kms and still going strong. It would receive an oil change every 2k-5k kms using Mobil 1 triple action power+ ultimate full synthetic engine oil. Oil filter is replaced every service as well. There are quite a few well priced B9 RS4 and RS5's on the market right now, and like every car, you'll have your lemons mixed in with what are generally reliable cars. That launch is insane! It is incredible to see what a modern sports car (disguised as a family wagon..!) can do compared to the tried and true hillclimb vehicles.

      The launch alone makes up a lot of the time lost out on track whilst trying to manoeuvre a 1.9 tonne car in ways it’s not designed to do. The AWD and low down torque also helps catapult it out of allow speed corners very efficiently.

      Oh Don if you saw the footage of the first run on Sunday, you'd have the same heart attack i felt as the car flew towards the tyre wall. Thankfully it did pull up just in time and still managed a decent run. I think what also added to mix was the shadows of the trees were covering the road as well as the left hand corner, which they werent the day before as practice disnt start until 12pm. May have slightly affected my depth perception a little. Great little track though and looking at the footage, there is a tonne of time to make on the left hand hairpin.

    • @mattbrown8732
      @mattbrown8732 Рік тому

      Cheers mate! Awesome to hear you are looking to participate in hillclimb events. Really is a great way to hone your skills as a driver as to win, you need to be 'on' immediately as there is no next lap to correct mistakes. First thing you are going to need to do is to join a hillclimb car club, assuming you already have a CAMS speed license. If you are in Sydney you can join Wollongong Sporting Car Club which would be your closest hillclimb track to Sydney or Southern District Motorsport association which is my local club here in the ACT. Find and follow these clubs on social media pages such as Facebook or Instagram for regular notifications and updates. Both have good websites where you can see planned event dates and event entry forms to complete. There is also plenty of information on how to prepare your car and safety equiptment to meet compliance and once you're enetered, you will have the time of yoir life. All great events and good likeminded company that is always up for a chat inbetween runs. Bathurst light Car Club is hosting an event on the 21st of May called the Supersprint. It is one of my favorite events and highly recommend it if you are keen to try. Check out my youtube footage from last year. Again, their website and FB page has all the information you will need. What car are you driving?

      @@mattbrown8732 Nice! Will definitely take a look into it! And check out your video Car is MY15 Wrx STI but it's currently on a progress for Forge Internals and bolt on upgrades and when it's ready I'm planning to give it a spin on these events. I'm really interested on the Bathurst event I reckon that'll be epic, but the thing is I don't think I'll make it, due to the build I'm doing I don't think the car will be ready at that point, next year would love to give it a feel. Bro! really appreciate your time and effort, I'll definitely consider your advice! Keep smashing that pedal! Looking forward to see you drive IRL.

      Many thanks and yes, was a bit of a 'moment' for sure. Driving at speed around that track, walls come up on you very fast and it can go very wrong very quickly. Very lucky to get away unscathed.

    • @mattbrown8732
      @mattbrown8732 Рік тому

      Thanks again Don! Most challenging run has to be mountain straight. Higher speeds, blind corners and greater road undulations take a lot more courage to be fast and find time. For me, the Esses are more enjoyable as it is a short, but more rapid sprint.
