I decided to publish some videos for posterity, and because being retired is boring. I wanted a hobby, something to do, and I have found I enjoy making videos. The posterity part is just leaving something of me behind for the folks I have known and loved.
Cutting my own hair was a BAD idea - Oopsie, DISASTER!
I used my Wahl clippers to give myself a trim and it did not turn out well. I had to go to the barber shop to get the mess fixed, at least as best he could.
Here is link to the barber shop video I mentioned:

I found a fun geocache today - And why geocaching is enjoyable
Переглядів 552 години тому
Now that my health has improved I plan on doing some geocaching once again. Some years back I really enjoyed it, and found almost 2,000 caches. If you are a geocacher you'll already understand everything in this video. If you are not a geocacher this will be an example of finding a geocache, but there is a more to it than is shown in this short video. There are events, trackables, challenges, a...
Squirrel Gymnastics - Just for Fun

Squirrels robbing bird feeder, by any means possible; They are very ingenious, and athletic, and determined. I like the little critters. I must admit many years ago in tougher times my family and I ate some of their forefathers, and they were very tasty. I guess now I am trying to make it up to them. You can't blame them for doing what it takes, within reason, to get their nut, eh? We've all be...
Low Carb Lunch at a local homestyle cafe - Santa Fe & SP Cafe Brenham, America

This cafe reminds me in many ways of my mom's cafe back in the 1970's in Pettus, Texas. I washed a lot of dishes there! Today I continued my health recovery journey, selecting the best choices amongst the lunch specials. I want to give hope to others who are in the predicament I was in that there is a way to a better quality of life. it can be done. #keto #ketodiet #lowcarbdiet #lowcarblifestyl...
An Electric Ride to an Eclectic Cafe - The Tilted Windmill
Переглядів 257 годин тому
I rode my e-bike to downtown Brenham to have brunch at The Tilted Windmill. I chose the Millennium Falcon sandwich, and it was very delicious. This place is truly eclectic, they have wide variety of unique teas, coffees, sugars, spices, and baked items and fruit preserves. The menu is very "non-typical", the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. I'm glad I went! #eclectic #cafe #c...
An Old School Traditional Barber Shop in Texas
Переглядів 939 годин тому
I got to visit with Elroy Dannhaus, owner and operator of Otto's Barber Shop in Brenham Texas. Elroy is from the 'old school' to say the least. This barber shop is very much like it was in 1964, when Elroy graduated from barber college in Austin, TX. Elroy worked for the original owner, and when he bought it he decided to just keep the name. #babershop #1960s #oldschool #brenham #haircut Here i...

I got to visit with Carlos and Carrina at Top Floor Cars. They had some really nice classic automobiles, and they were wonderful hosts. I enjoyed this very much. They graciously took time out of their day to visit with me, and I appreciate them greatly. They are the best kind of people. I had a very nice lunch at Must Be Heaven in Brenham, Texas today. They specialize in sandwiches, soups, pies, cookies and of course Blue Bell ice cream. The vibe in this place just makes you feel good, the staff is wonderful, and the food is scrumptious. What more could you ask for?! God Bless You and those you love. Squirrel mischief, and a choice of Apple, Raspberry, or Strawberry. What will they choose?
Переглядів 8816 годин тому
I offered the squirrels in my back yard a choice of apple, raspberry or strawberry to see what would happen. No bird seed/black oil sunflower seeds, pecans, or walnuts were made available during this experiment. Then, after it was over I gave them what they crave.

Walnuts vs Pecans vs Blackberries, Squirrel Buffet Choices
Переглядів 39День тому
Just thought it would be interesting to challenge to squirrels to get food, and to see if they prefer walnuts, pecans, or blackberries. The squirrel house is coming along nicely, should be in place soon. Hopefully we can witness them nesting and watch the little ones grow up.

Geocaching is an enjoyable activity.
Hey, Todd. Happy Hairless (or nearly) Thanksgiving to you, your family, and the livestock. 😄 🦃 🐱
The Geocache can be alot of fun. Have a happy Thanksgiving Todd!!!😊
Did similar to my beard (guard on wrong setting), shed a single tear, made up a story and am currently regrowing it. Life goes on...😎
Well, at least it doesn't show up on your HW avatar Way! You still look very well groomed there. Thank you for watching, and commenting. I wish you and your family a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving.
I hear ya done the same thing. Happy thanksgiving
As Forrest Gump said, "It happens".
lol, Mike did the same thing with his mustache. He looked so forlorn. I cracked up. You look great.
Thank you Deb, you guy have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving. Trek on!
If you like Geocaching you should play Pokemon Go while doing it! You also inspired me to find one today!
My kids did that Will, I just don't think its for me.
I'd heard of geocaching but now understand how it works. Very well explained Amigo.
@@rvlivingwiththegeezer7791 I pulled up Boyd, TX and there are many in the area. There is one at James Snodgrass Park, near the NW corner. Is that the park you walk in sometimes?
@ToddSaw yes that's it. I'll check it out.
I have known about geocaching, but I never knew what it inteled. It is interesting to see how it is done. It looks like it would be fun.
It is, and I assure you during your hikes you have walked right by a great many very fun geocaches over the years.
Never heard of Geocaching, sounds like fun.
That was really cool seeing what it's all about, I should see if my husband would like to get into that on the weekends once in awhile, something different and exciting.
Hey, Todd. Thank you for the info. Looks like you're really happy to be picking up your hobby again! I guess I was near quite a few geocaches while I was traveling in my RV, walking on trails while I stayed in state and national parks, and Corps of Engineers campgrounds.
I recommend it. Only 39.99 a year, which is $ 3.33 per month, not bad for what you get out of it. It motivates you to get out and see things, get exercise, and have some fun.
You should have grabbed the png that I placed over there it’s fine tho maybe next time that just shows how close you can get to a geocache at any certain time
Hey, Todd. Acrobatic fluff with bright eyes - what's not to like? Hope you're having a good week.
I made the geocache just if anyone wanted to know Lol 😂❤
I enjoyed it Kadon. Well done. Thank you.
Another good video. Have done a few geocache missions and it's a good way to spend the day. Highly recommended activity for anyone. Great content.
It's fun, good exercise, interesting, challenging at times, helps one make new friends, and so much more. What's not to like?!
Watching the curse of Oak Island this evening. The world’s most famous geocache.
Have they ever found anything?
Good evening, Todd. I hope you had a good day. Thank you for all the information on geocaching. I see it mentioned quite a bit on the frugal RV gals channel. She likes to do it as well. Hope you’re having a great day amigo. 17:00
Hey Dennis, WHEN, not if, you are up and around and mobile if you are agreeable I will gift you a geocaching.com premium membership. It could be good exercise and good video content for you perhaps? I have found a number of caches in the Rockport area. Any 'destination' locale is always ripe with an abundance of caches. I hope thing went well for you today, and are better tomorrow.
We used to geocache and enjoyed it. There are some creative people out there.
I made it Lol
Yes, my friend Kerry (Sock Monkey) is VERY "creative", sometimes to the point of being cruel. Trying to find his geocache hides has frustrated me to no end and I will be showing examples of that in upcoming videos.
@@ToddSaw Lol yes i love sock monkeys hides
Hey Todd! Looks like the squirrels are having more fun than we are.
Good video Todd. Looks like a good place to meet for breakfast now and then Keep up the good work dude
Fun video cool music as well.
Hi Mary. I hope you are well and having a great day.
That’s a cool squirrel 🐿️ Todd! Lol
Awesome job. Your an inspiration. Love the viodes
Thank you Mary, I appreciate you saying that. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving week.
Hey, Todd. Good video, good choices. I also managed to bring my A1C down to normal, just by keeping the carbs down. My blood pressure was very good at my recent primary care visit, so the PCP said she might take me off those meds if it continues at the next visit. We have to believe that we're worth the effort of abandoning old habits and learning new ones. Keep rollin' on, Toddster.
You put that very well, "We have to believe that we're worth the effort". Nice, and I agree. The person who is most capable of help is most often oneself.
Hurray! Your a1c is good. Lunch looks great.
Started at 8.5, next test 5.7, last month 4.6. Reward for good behavior. (and taking Mounjaro).
@ToddSaw excellent
You're doing great, Todd
Thank you Kevin, I will tell you you're one of my inspirations, over a year ago I would watch video's of the hikes you did with Jackie boy, and hikes others did on their channels and it seemed like nothing I'd ever be able to do again. I was jealous, and mad at myself for letting myself get in that condition. I decided to to something different. Now, I have been thinking about maybe not just going for walks in the park, or around the neighborhood, but going out on a hiking trail.
@ToddSaw Thank you. I'm am so glad that I have helped.
Hey Todd. I hope you’re having a good night bud. Today has been a challenge. Tomorrow will be better. Hope you’re doing well and enjoying the evening. 13:22
Really a good old fashioned cafe. On the diet it all boils down to will power. A person has to think what they shove down their pie holes.😆 Very good explanation at the end Todd.👍👍👍
Thank you Calvin. I'd rather eat at that type cafe than any chain restaurant that has ever existed.
Excellent portion control amigo. Congratulations on keeping your diabetes in check. 8:03
Thank you Dennis.
Sounds like you ordered healthy buddy. Thanks for ordering the turnip greens. When I was driving for Uber George Springer was doing a rehab in corpus. I got to drive him from the hotel to the game one evening. That was my brush with greatness. 5:31
I am a huge fan of George Springer, hated to see him leave the Astros. He overcame a lot of challenges in his life and his attitude was something to admire. He had a big time speech impediment, which if you listen closely you can still detect today, but he overcame his obstacles and tries to help others. A real star.
Good evening, Todd. Just started watching. Very nice looking place outside. I think Jamie would enjoy that place. Love their sign and the specials menu looks delicious. 2:13 I hope you are ordering the turnip greens. 3:08
Goodnight dennis hugs
Nice job Todd!
Good morning Todd. Glad you’re getting your exercise in buddy. That’s an interesting establishment. In Philadelphia you would’ve been in a fistfight for not saying thank you when the gentleman held the door open for you. I hope you’re packing!😂 thanks for the tour buddy. Greatly appreciated. Greetings from San Antonio, Texas.
Good seeing you there last week Todd! I go there all the time! Elroy is awesome and a literal time machine in human skin!
Yes, I will be stopping by just to check in from time to time even if I don't need a trim.
Thanks Todd. Cool car collection! My favorite is the 57' Chevy.😊 Just subscribed.🎉
Yep, it was be great to cruise around in one of those. I like the red one. If I had one of those I would take it to car shows and power tours too. Thanks for coming it, and subscribing. I appreciate you much.
You're finding some really cool places right there in Brenham.👍👍
Yep, we have a lot. I just have to be careful, with both $$ and carbs. That sandwich and a tea was over $16. Sheeez.
Nice ride. Too bad about motorcycles. Looks like a nice restaurant.
It was good, really not my style. I’ll go back, but it won’t be a regular stop for me. I really appreciate your support in getting my channel going Kevin.
@ToddSaw you're welcome, Todd
Hey, Todd. Nice looking place. I bet having that coffee roaster venting out to the street brings in some business, especially from folks who can't resist the smell of coffee.
NO DOUBT! I have tried to like coffee, I want to like coffee, I just can't get into it. I have given up. It's just not my thing. I do love tea though, and I am told tea is better for me, so there is that..........
Howdy Todd! Hello Elroy! Great memories at Otto’s! Banks! Nicely done interview! Just one question… what’s a haircut? 🤔😩🇺🇸
@@dennis78382 I guess that’s history for you, and to tell you the truth, my friend, I am not far behind you. Rogaine?
Great stories and old school barber shop. Thanks for the tour
Thank you for coming in and commenting Jose.
I remember the old barber shops.
I'd rather go there than SportsClips any day!
@ToddSaw for sure
Hey, Todd. Next time I'm in Brenham, I must go get my hairs cut at Otto's. Maybe a shave while I'm at it. 😀
@@MsLeenite Heck yeah!
It is really great seeing the small business still around. That is a piece of history there. Have a wonderful evening my friend!!!😊
@@Adventure.America yep, when shops like Otto’s are gone forever it will be a sad day.
I really enjoyed your visit with Elroy. Really a cool guy. My Dad would take me to an old school barber shop in Boerne called Curlys. I went there even through college.
I love things and places that bring back memories like that Calvin. It's a good feeling.
Congratulations on your weight loss!!! Fantastic 🎉🎉🎉
@@gensguineas Thank you. Life is so much better now.
Really cool place, love it and love all the classic memorabilia ❤
Good morning Todd. I like that shirt. Life was so much eaiser when we were innocent. Thank you for sharing have a good day.
I bought that shirt the last time I was there and the biggest they had was XL, too small for me then and until recently. Now I can wear it, no problem. Unfortunately Ruby's is now closed down. Dang shame.
Interesting place being an old service station! Definitely would go for the Bel airs
Who doesn't love a 55-57 Chevy?! Thank you very much for coming in and subscribing 27. Many blessings to you guys.
Cool 😮 nice
Awesome video Todd. There is a classic car place like this out in Alpine called the Stable. I watched your Brenham Cubs get by Liberty Hill last night 30-27! 🏈 Our Boyd girls lost in the State Championship match to Stockdale.🏐
Those girls and Boyd still can be proud of making it all the way to the championship game, that is not easy to do. I listened to the Cubs game on the radio since I don't have DIRECTV anymore. Cut that cord a few years back. It was a great game, I just hope our star RB, Jakoby Dixon, can be back ready to go next week. That dude is like greased lightning.
@ToddSaw Really a great game. Brenham really stepped up after the loss of Dixon. One of my Fire Dept. Brothers Grandson plays for Bastrop. It's possible they will meet up with Brenham.
