Wow, I've been hesitant to do major pruning on my jades during the winter...
Absolutely amazing..i never knew lemon cypress could be grown like that..❤❤
Thanks
Nice jade forest......look into ripple leaf jades....leaves resemble deciduous trees....
Yes think I've seen them. Thanks
I get how you are building the structure. Very good subject for both Clip and Grow AND Wiring!
Thanks steve
What a great find Chris, great work on it as well. These trees are used as hedging plants here in Australia as the are fast growers.. names like silver screen, screen master are used widely.l particularly dont like them as screens are they need constant pruning
Thanks nerina.
Nice tree...Not familiar with Pittosporum, is it indigenous to the U.K.? You seem to come across Yamadori/Urbandori so easily...I literally drive up and down the streets of my little town and surrounding areas looking for potential materials and have come across zilch...If that's not enough you then turn them into these incredible pieces of art...Love this channel and your work...Thanks for sharing Chris...
Not positive, but I think Chris is in Ireland.
@@maryweber4176 Oh, my bad, I've watched all of his videos and have missed any reference to where he is from...Chris, if you are reading this, my apologies if I insulted you in any way...nate
Thanks Nate. I have found a few alright. Always keeping my eyes peeled.
Yes I'm in Ireland. I'm originally from UK though.
@@n8tyler Nate, I was a little confused with his accent, so I just asked him. Probably why you didn't see it.
Nice composition!
Pesty birds…welcome to my world.
Yes they can break your heart.
NIce job. I like it a lot. Please tell me what is substrate you use ?
Thanks. I use akadama and pumice mix
@@chrismarshall8321 at this plastic container you have akadama pumice mix? it looks bit different for me, it is more sticky.
O sorry I thought you meant my usual mix for my bonsai. That was just some compost and the sived stuff from my mix. I just mixed it with a bit of water so it would hold its shape a bit better and holds trees in better.
@@chrismarshall8321 thank you :)
👍👌
A fantastic planting Chris. It looks so natural. The tree is beautiful mate. Superb!
Thanks mick
Great work as always. Impressive how well you were able to keep it in scale in such a small pot.
Thank you very much!
What kind of spruce is the tree? Beautiful, by the way.
It's a white spruce .thanks Mary
From meticulous landscape work to a bit of wiring into a pruning masterpiece for spring growth.
Thanks tom
Very nice...A 'Sweeping Literati' ?!? I like it, don't recognize it from earlier videos...Your trees are amazing...I aspire to have something this nice some day...Well done, great content, beautiful composition and an excellent tree...Thanks for sharing and have a Great Holiday...
Thank you very much! Nate. You too.
I love the bend in the trunk and the angle you planted it.
Thanks Jennifer

I just picked up 5 of these at one of my local big box stores to make a forest. Thanks for making this, it is so helpful! Do these backbud on old wood?

Thanks a lot! Nigel
Bravo!! Challenge met! You are truly the Penjing Master.

Chris, you have to start your own bonsai nursery. These landscaped bonsai would sell like hot cakes off the griddle. Chris, the Michelangelo of the bonsai landscape world.
Lol thanks tom

Interesting through-down and of course you were up to the challenge...Well done, very nice and inspired to try one....Were those all cuttings? I've not cracked cuttings from Junipers or Cypress but how nice must it be to have such a great selection to choose from...Do you have a video on such cuttings or is there a trick to success with Junipers/Cypress...As always, enjoy the content very much and thanks for sharing...Have a great Holiday...
Whenever I can prune I will stick cuttings into a pot coz never know what ones will take.so I do get alot that make it. Thanks nate . Happy holidays to you too.

Very well executed. Glad you took up the challenge. Do you get to keep it or is it going to the challenger?
Thanks steve no I get to keep it.
Chris is the owner for sure he did a nice job of making a penjing out of it.
That is one humungous forest. Great styling. Nice the way you placed the bear in the forest. Super cool. Pruning will give some nice spring growth. You are a true landscape architect, Chris.
Thank you very much! Tom
Looking good Chris!!
@TheBonsaiZone Thanks nigel
Thanks. I've got two small trees in the works. Helpful info
Looking good Chris the bear looks great, you should look out for a baby bear or two.
I will!
👍👌
This is a brilliant developing Larch forest Chris - it will rival Nigels with a few more years growth :)
Lol thanks xavier. Not sure about that .
Hi Chris ,i love the bear ,looks perfect in this absolutely great forest 😍👍💪. Thanks 🙏
Thanks 👍
I have i similar forest of larch trees planted in a slab. My trees are about 3 years old and i can only hope they progress into something like this! Gonna add a few cutting I've rooted come spring. This video was quite helpful for me since i haven't pruned them yet this winter.
Sounds good kevin. Thanks
