Winter Homemaking / Meal Prepping For The Week On A Budget
I share some homemaking and meal prep on a budget on a cozy winter day.
Brown butter Chocolate chip cookies:
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp kosher salt
1/2 cup solidified brown butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Brown the butter on stove bring to a boil until amber brown let butter set up in fridge until solid
* Cream butter and sugar together and then add the rest of ingredients into the bowl. I prefer to use a stand mixer but can be done by hand.
* Chill in fridge for at least two hours. Bake @350 for about 10-14 minutes until golden around edges of cookie

Fairly new follower and I truly enjoy your videos of your cozy home and all the love that goes into making meals for your family. To the waiting for the food to cool down before putting it in I think that’s a cultural thing if you ask me. My mom’s always said that but gave no reason lol Also this year I want to slow down and be intentional with motherhood. And replace a few things and make them from scratch. Even if it’s brown sugar and bread for now. ❤

i remember this one time i felt completely stuck, like no matter what i did, life just wasn’t moving forward. i tried everything-manifestation journals, vision boards, all that stuff-but it felt like i was missing something. then i stumbled across this book, Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and it hit different. it wasn’t just about manifesting; it was about understanding the energy i was putting out into the world. honestly, it changed everything. if you’re feeling stuck too, you might want to check out this book.

i remember this one night i was scrolling aimlessly, feeling like i had hit rock bottom. it felt like nothing i wanted was ever going to happen for me. i don’t know why, but i clicked on this link about the book Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and something about it drew me in. the more i read, the more i felt like it was written just for me. it’s wild how much a single book can change your perspective.

i used to think manifesting was all about repeating affirmations and hoping for the best. i tried it for months and…nothing. i was so frustrated. then i heard about this book, Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and how it breaks down the science and energy behind manifestation. it’s like it flipped a switch in my brain. once i started applying what i learned, things started falling into place like never before. worth checking out if you’re serious about manifesting.

a while back, i hit a point where i felt like everything was out of my control. i kept wondering why other people seemed to get what they wanted while i was stuck in the same place. then i came across this book called Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane. i wasn’t expecting much, but the way it explains the connection between your energy and the life you create? it blew my mind. it’s not just a book, it’s like a blueprint for turning your life around.

I really appreciate you touching on mom guilt for not waking up early. When you talked about the warm cuddles and not wishing them away… 🥰 I needed that! I have NEVER been a morning person. I actually love waking up an hr or so before the household. I get a nice walk to wake me up, cats fed, open the kitchen & start breakfast before our toddler wakes up. However, that just is not our reality most days. Most days I wake up before everyone else, but decide to cuddle in bed & wait for our daughter to wake up. I feel better about enjoying this season now. ❤️

As a mom of 3 grown kids, my oldest was an early riser. I showed him how to make instant oatmeal and hot chocolate if he was hungry with electric tea kettle and what number the tv noise could be on. My 2 girls were sleepers. about putting hot things in the fridge... the fridge doesn't work all the time, it keeps turning on and off to keep the temperature constant. if you put a hot thing inside it will have to turn on to bring the temperature down so it consume more energy. also, babies don't need teeth to eat solids. my daughter only got teeth at 13 months, but by WHO guidelines babies at 12 months must be eating the same as the rest of the family (for the most part). it's very important for them to learn to mastigate right from the start of food introduction.

Uuhh yeahh baby food. I knew it isn't hard to make at all, just need of course a little time. I couldn't justify how expensive it is. I gave it a try with my first, and made it for all my kids. The only time I bought baby food was when traveling.

Putting things in the fridge hot makes the fridge work very hard and (according to my husband) wastes electricity and isn't good for the items already in the fridge. I do it sometimes, but at this time of year, I take advantage of the cold, and put soups and broths on my porch to cool.

When I made vanilla, I made two quarts of it. After several months, I started using vanilla from one quart. Once it’s down to 2/3-3/4 full (never below 1/2 full), I fill it up with spiced or white rum, (I’m preferring spiced rum right now, but I’ve mixed rums, when I don’t have enough of one rum to fill my jars); and I place it in the back of my pantry. I then, start using vanilla from quart number 2, until it’s down to 2/3-3/4 full. Then I’ll repeat the process of refilling it and putting it in the back; and I return to quart 1. I add more vanilla beans once I’ve done this process 3 times, but I leave the old vanilla beans in it. This technique always insures I never have to start vanilla from the beginning, not being able to use it for several months to a year, for really good vanilla flavor. In a pinch, or if you want to make vanilla to give as gifts, there’s a way to fill up pint jars with the rum and vanilla beans, and put the closed jars into a pressure canner, and it makes vanilla that can be used immediately! There’s a UA-cam video from Acre homestead, where her sister showed her how to make vanilla in pint jars as gifts, or if you need vanilla right away, and don’t want to wait months to use it! Never apologize for getting a little extra rest when you can! That’s a gift to moms with young children!

Have you tried making savory waffles? There are many great recipes online. Also, making egg sandwiches with waffles and add bacon, for a different take on breakfast sandwiches!

I heard if you soak your beans overnight and rinse them well, it helps prevent gas issues.

This is so much better than takeout/processed foods which are destroying health and increasing diabetes and fatty liver disease in kids.

I am a WFH mom. One of my intentions this year is to create a routine and home lifestyle that brings me joy, courage, and endurance - especially when life and work get tough. I am struggling to get a sense of what this looks like, though. My (and my family's) needs change depending on the season we are in, sometimes getting up earlier than my husband and son gives me that head start that I need, sometimes I want to snuggle a bit longer. How do I create routine when things change at times?

That’s so great that you’re focusing on finding joy and routine in your home life! My schedule is constantly changing so I really think it’s important to just flow with what works for you and your family! I try to stick to rhythms to my day rather than routines gives me a lot flexibility. Thank you for watching and commenting! Wishing you happy New year! 🎉

They also put too much sugar in baby food and omit needed fats. I usually keep the fat in broth because it is good for health, but I also eat low carb to keep blood sugar and blood pressure low. I enjoyed the video and wished more young people appreciated the work of stay at home moms.

Oh yeah I do sometimes keep the fat in to. I didn’t even think of the extra health benefits thank you. I love being a stay at home mom so valuable and priceless. Thank you for watching 😊

I heard if you put hot food in the fridge it lowers the temp in the fridge so much that it has to work harder and it also brings the temp down of the food that is in the fridge.

I can honestly say that - ''once I found out about'' *Browned Butter* years ago, there wasn't much it didn't Make 'way better' by adding it to by replacing 'reg butter' ~ Total ''game changer'' imho : ) = Total YUM ! Sooo Good in Mashed Potatoes, corn on the cob too ! but, I'll now have to try it in Eggs, great idea, tyfs. As per ''Rest'' - when we can, I say 'listen' to our self & [heart, mind, body etc] & Relax !!! : ) there's No Guilt/Shame in that - it is ''actually' Prioritizing Our Health & taking Care of Our health, is Good for our Family too !! !!! : ) So Happpy that your Hubby Graduated & Got His Dream Job !!! : ) Your outfit was Super Cute - Loved it !!! ... P.S, I would not have noticed the Flour if u hadn't said so : ) HAGW ! & love from Me, [fellow believer] & the Almighty Father above : )

I loved the Christmas decorations admission. I'm Australian, and we celebrate Australia Day on January 26th... So in MY home, we or up the tree and decorations on the first week in December, and take them down in Australia Day holiday! 🤣
