Rolled the Old Econoline and Spilled My Schlitz
Song written and performed by Hezekiah Goode
out on a friday night booze cruise to chicken rock, oh nellie
rolled the old econoline and spilled my schlitz
i'll prolly literally die here but if i don't, oh nellie
moan around and whine a while in the ditch
i been a fool for bikinis and fast camaros, nellie
loadin the old johnboat up with fat walleye
but honey don't let the extremely big manly mustache fool ya
nellie i been sweet on you until the day that i die
hand me my hand nell, check the cattails
find my arm a foot due east
don't let my heart roast upon that hedge post
put me on back into one piece
i woulda been hurt not merely dismembered
if youda kept on going
bring me my leg bone, a knee to kneel on
nellie will you be my own?
the first time i ever seen you i remember well, oh nellie
you was snookerin the fellers in your mini dress
of all the suckers i have seen lose their overalls, oh nellie
that collection was by far the grinniest
sure we paid your student loans off and your seadoo too, oh nellie
and half them jakes was linin up to up the stakes
oh but to watch you shoot the eight ball down at the pool hall, oh nellie
it's worth at least the cattle and the combo to the farm gate
hand me my hand nell ...
i know i'm skinny as a corn stalk and my teeth aint straight, oh nellie
your mama says i'm common as a collard green
and i aint hardly printin money down at the auto shop, oh nellie
but aint i always been there when you needed me?
that time you totaled out his nissan your brother bawled, oh nellie
but it was me who drove to allentown to the rescue
the night you sorta got my blood drawn at the biker bar, oh nellie
it was a thrill to let a gallon down the corner pocket for you
out on a friday night booze cruise to chicken rock, oh nellie
rolled the old econoline and spilled my schlitz
i'll prolly literally die here but if i don't, oh nellie
moan around and whine a while in the ditch

He sing funny😄I like him.
Nobody could write and/or sing a tearjerker like Hank coud.
This is one of the best songs I ever heard. Captivating.

@@FiddlersFordMusic Hey man. Yeah I'm doing ok. Just working and trying to keep the noggin above water. lol I don't post as much as before. Thanks for posting the lyrics. I like this song
hank was something other than a superstar. no one can really define what it was he had or was, even his mother said"I don't know what it is you got. i guess only the good lord knows, but as long as you got it you can't go wrong." maybe it was that he expressed the spitrt of poor whites more tellingly than anyone.
Nice singing. Nice Guitar playing.😊❤
🙏
For those interested there is a cleaned-up version of this song. It's wonderful!
Wow! Great job. 👍
Thank you very much! Keep on fishin!

Very insightful! Interesting that one of his last songs was I WON'T BE HOME NO MORE
Damn near impossible to not tap your foot to this one😁👏👏

A true magical moment for me to day, Hank is a treasure.
thanks
Why do I know this place.
The country voice
The fucking fuck? This came up as outlaw country…?
ha ha yeah outlaw country doesnt even mean nothin. just some corny ass marketing bs. like willie nelson ever shivved anybody
Man I so get it...my generation, my people.
Cool man - glad to hear it and appreciate you listening!
illegal smile
Simple illgale. Smile is 50$more.
I'd say so. Thanks for listening!
Hit da bricks ya sneaky little
He was probably born with that pathos in his voice that will be remembered as magic in its lament of the song.
Even at such a tender age it's a voice that sounds like it's lived, love and lost before!
This is my people this is my home
Lord Ha Mercey !!!
I love Hank. But yall are getting carried away with calling him genius. In my opinion. My dear departed mother who played him over and over in my youth. Would probably disagree with me. Unfortunately her passing at my 9 years old. Would never allow such a conversation. She was haunted by Hank Williams music. And when i hear it. Her ghosts, visit me. -True story unfortunately
Historically fascinating - and it's all there isn't it?
👍👍👍👍♥️♥️😘
Эх, перевод бы на русский язык.
No disrespect to Hank Jr because he's better at playing instruments but Hank Sr is the best overall country artist ever
Cool! Love Hank's singing. Watching from the Philippines.
Oh there ain't no use to cry
Wow! Didn't know about this song! Thanks for sharing.
His grandson looks and sounds like him. Never heard this song before. Wish they would clean up the sound and release it.
Hank Williams senior legend 💕
He had it from the git-go
Hank was born in 1923? Sounds like 19 to me?
When you get home, there you will find This letter dear that I have wrote to you And when you read it o'er 'Til then you'll understand Why I'm not coming home anymore Oh, there ain't no use to cry Because we're saying goodbye We have discussed that o'er and o'er So you go your way, to you may life be kind For I'm not coming home anymore Darlin', we were so happy and had a happy home The baby, we were so proud of you But then you went astray I'll never forget that day For him to know I'd much rather be dead When from you I'm far away, I'll long for you each day The baby, I will miss him so But from you, I will go For it's all over so I'm not coming home anymore Oh, there ain't no use to cry Because we're saying goodbye We have discussed that o'er and o'er So you go your way, to you may life be kind For I'm not coming home anymore
There was and will be nobody else ever like him
this man will always be the king of country....would love to have met tee tot....ol hank said there's never a better teacher than tee tot
Another great song Hank 👍👏
Recorded the year I was born,Loved him since I was eight or nine.
