I’m thinking of making a size small. Although maybe grading xs up too to a small. If that wouldn’t spoil the lines.

Oh my goodness! Idk how I found this video but this is exactly what I needed! My brother machine would just NOT do the shirring with the elastic thread no matter how many times i wound the bobbin and I wondered if I could do the same this with regular elastic! 🧡

ok ok ok! i've got my pattern all cut and I need to know if there is a best way to make it reversible?! I bought this INCREDIBLE hot pink and gold viscose flower brocade and there is NO better side. I need to just be able to wear both sides. Can I just do layered seams or edge stitch the seams down so they lay flat on both sides?!

I got a shirring foot, but now that I learned about the last 2 techniques, I won't be using it lol.

I’ve never done a partially elasticated waist band. I’m a little bit confused as to why the elastic is cut into 2 pieces that end up being joined together?

I usually struggle to watch a video all the way through or without skipping bits, especially when not working on the project its helping with. However I've watched all of this one, and can't wait to try this hack, and make these trousers. And show you to my daughter as we are on this sewing journey together.

I made a version of this years ago when my sister was pregnant. I put buckles on the side ties for easy adjustment so there wasn't any bows.

How can I get the pattern

Sun dresses with shirred tops were extremely popular when I was a little girl. I found a top at a thrift store recently and heard that the JoAnns in town had the fabric. I was put off by the price of nearly $20 a yard and left the store disappointed. I can't wait to try this method myself! Now I just need to do the math for the right amount of material. I have plenty on hand as I buy from thrift shops all the time and my stash is continuously growing! I have lots of notions too! Thank you for your concise and easy-to-understand directions!!
