This episode is still the scariest for me because of how realistic it is! This really could happen to anyone. So glad you went back and finished it, even if the game's ending did feel a little rushed after.

I'm so glad you took the time to look at so much!! Catherine is one of my favorite characters of all time - her determination, way of speaking, and perspective is so interesting to me. I agree with her being neurodivergent and empathize with her feelings of wanting a true friend. She's not as cold-hearted as one might think, she just had a mission that was so important to her! Catherine had her priorities set from the beginning, and while I do believe she ended up forming a bond with Simon, she knew she had to be careful with him. I really liked your discussions/thoughts about her. I loved this playthrough! Thank you for sharing your experience.

you were doing so well learning the fight and then you just decided to summon and cheese it. waste of your own time, just summon from the beginning if that's how you want to play.

There is no shame attached to cooperating for boss fights, IMO. Firstly, coop is a core game mechanic. Secondly, enjoying the game has higher priority than acquiring bragging rights through prolonged pain and suffering. Thirdly, the Nameless King is an exceptionally tough cookie, and we are not all teenagers who can invest several days into mastering every last boss fight.

Not to worry you too much, but Nameless King sort of became the default for Elden Ring boss design. Not in terms of difficulty, but there's certainly a lot more aggression and fakeouts, and more attack strings to watch out for.

that was an hour of condensed fun and 20 minutes of ze lore - very nice. a lot of people are using the ember mid battle as a big full heal or during a boss stage transition. since your actual sum of hp is your max hp + your estus 14 times, and, if your estus is always giving your the full value and you are not being one-shotted - there is really no reason of having a bigger max health pull...but I guess if you are making a lot of mistakes in a row - you will need a lot of hp...even tho it will just lead to slower death until you are out of estus. ze lore had nothing to do with the story of ds3, but a neat part of the ds1. the most interesting part for me was the description of the curved sword "when the great beast fell, the king claimed his soul, as was the custom in the age of the gods". combining that with the Ornstein's armor just laying on the floor and not on the body - led me to some interesting conclusions.

I can't really catch the streams because of time zone stuff, but I've been watching the Dark Souls playthroughs here since DS 1. Just wanted to say thanks, these are probably my favourite playthroughs I've seen of these games. Its really cool how actively you engage with the story/lore side of things.

The person who told you that there is a 99% chance of defeating this area's boss first go was 100% trolling. I have never seen that boss overcome quickly in any first playthrough, let alone with the first attempt. You'll see.

The entry to the Ringed City DLC actually lies along the route to said arena, and you are very unlikely to miss that either.

Since you're refusing to ever hold a shield, you should focus more on increasing your poise and doing more poise damage. I think there are rings specifically for that, and adding more armour. If you can stagger enemies, you can stop their attacks. As it is, when you're fighting tough enemies like the cathedral knights and black knights you're just flailing at them, they break your poise, and their attacks do much more damage than yours. Overall big weapons naturally do more poise damage.

The main issue I have with DS3 is that it's super linear. About the only way to do anything out of order is to fight the Dancer early, and yeah, that's not happening for most players. Otherwise you get a few pointless choices like "do Farron Keep first or do the cathedral first", and now where you are "do the gardens first or do the ramparts". It's fine for the first playthrough but the next ten times it gets incredibly boring quickly.

Hooray, Kristelle is back with DS3. That break felt so long. 😉 Fine work dispatching of the Dancer so quickly. Her strangely off-rythm motions confuse me, and I find her fight taxing. From a lore perspective, it further emphasises how much off a sicko Pontiff Sulyvahn was, and how basically everybody serving him as Outrider Knight (willing service or not) ends up cuckoo and even bereft of their humanity.
