Something just occured to me. Horace is (well, was, because someone murdered him in cold blood) a Blue Sentinel and carries a Drangleic shield. And he protects Anri, who is wearing DS1 armour. It's kind of symbolic of how DS2 shields DS1 from a lot of criticism because everyone is focused on hating on DS2.
Ooh that is an interesting perspective, I hadn't even considered that comparison! Yeah IMO there is plenty to critique in each of the games, but also plenty to praise as well ofc 😊 The vast range of folk's preferences/opinions for each game is always quite interesting to me
Your memory of lore details from Dark Souls 1 and 2 is impressive, as is your ability to tie these things into DS3. I did not make nearly as many connections as you do, and you even make it seem natural and easy. Nerd envy. 😉
