The REAL Difference Between Eastern and Western Oklahoma
Oklahoma is often thought of as a state of two halves-divided by history, geography, culture, and economy. As someone who has lived in both Eastern and Western Oklahoma, I’ve experienced the stark differences firsthand.
In this video, we’ll take a closer look at how these two regions differ. From landscapes and weather to cultural traditions and economic opportunities, discover what makes each side of Oklahoma unique.

Why You Need a Home Inspection on Your Brand New Home
I came here to sat that two years later and oklahoma is #11 for top destination on the uhaul index.
You said no mobile homes but what about a tiny home on wheels?
We don’t want crazy liberals moving to OKLAHOMA…we won’t put up with your crazy shit. This is open carry state.
Any city or towns with a lower cost of living, and positive homeschool laws, and we can get insurance cheaply. Oh and decent lower-income housing for disabled elderly and or large families
Could you please do a detailed video about Owasso? 😊
Perhaps you should move out of Oklahoma. Go somewhere else.
Good list except for Moore. Bartlesville, Purcell, Mustang, Chickasha, Bixby, Catooaa, Sapulpa, Shawnee, Durant - I would live in before Moore. Moore has more tornadoes that any other city in the state based on the size.
Saving to buy a house here in the next few years. This is all so helpful! Thank you so much!
full of religious fanatics

Oklahoma is God's country.................................
Living in Norman explains it. My wife and I grew up in Norman and graduated in 85 and 86. We would never move back. It has become a liberal congested shit hole. Rural Oklahoma is where it’s at. We love God, Guns and the USA. I did 22 years of active duty and we lived in multiple states. There is a reason we retired back in Oklahoma. Just move lady. California, Oregon or Washington will take you.
We moved to Oklahoma from Oregon 3 years ago and just love it. We're retired and love the small town feel.
You should be on the OK Tourism Commussion or at least the Board of Realtors! Could’ve named the video, “Some Drawbacks to Living in Oklahoma. But anyway, these are my responses to your tearing down our state. 1. Mosquitoes. As others said, you can go to any other of 49 states. Especially since Oklahoma is the only state with mosquitoes, you can go anywhere to get away from the bugs, ‘cause Oklahoma is the only state with bugs. 2. Oceans? If it’s a 14 hour drive, why don’t you fly to the ocean if you wanna be there so bad. At one time we had the most man made lakes of any state in the union. So either ya like large bodies of water or you don’t. As a realtor you should be able to avoid the crowds since you sit on Open Houses weekends and could laking on weekdays. 3. Drive time: Middle of nowhere? I heard some contradiction there. You don’t like crowds, “thats just not my thing,” but have ya ever been on a California beach on a sunny day? You WILL encounter crowds. Mid-Nowhere is exactly where I wanna live. Somethin’ that comes with being over 60 I guess. That’s the main reason I moved back here from crowded Califorkya. Well, that and lower taxes too. And don’t get me started on their Marxist Governor Noose ‘em! Oklahoma is a low expense place to retire. But that’s a mixed blessing. And I talk to people all the time here who also moved here to escape Califorkya and the socialist policies. 4. Urban Areas: if you want hustle and bustle, why don’t fly to LA or Dallas to get it out of your system instead of wishing all the evils of big cities on the people here? Why don’t you move to Chicago? Or LA? NYC? You too can be lit on fire riding a subway! It’s so exciting and exhilarating! You should try it. Or SF where you’re guaranteed to step in a pile of human crap as you take your stroll. Don’t get it on the wheels of yer baby stroller! That vacant area you say lies between our big cities with “not much” is rural America, where many people choose to live to get away from people like you that want concrete and cities to cover the state and leave no “wide open spaces” that the Dixie Chicks sang about. That empty land is growing a lot of the food that feeds America. But go ahead and gripe about it. I’m glad we don’t need eight lane parking lots to sit in traffic jams. But to each her own. 5. Architecture: Oklahoma was a boom state and a lot of houses were built in a certain style. Especially after WW2, just like other states. Most towns have their “nice” sections, like Nichols Hills or Broadway in Shawnee with its non-conforming mansions. Ever see South SF? Boxes and boxes lined up on the hills like cookie cutter layouts. So all states have this issue, not just OK. You obviously don’t get around much. Weather: Tornadoes? I enjoy storm chasing, just as I did when I useta live here. Good thing about thunderstorms is they normally last a few hours and they’re usually over. In the SE and east coast, hurricanes can last for what seems like days and destroy half the state. I’ll take tornados any day. 6. Public Trans: Why did you even bring this up? You should go live in Asia or NYC if you wanna ditch yer car. 7. Red dirt: It’s here. And it is what it is. There’s less top soil because the govt never taught farmers to practice soil conservation, so it blew away in the govt created dust bowl. As an activist realtor, why don’t you lobby for changing building codes to require piers on foundations? Maybe that stop some of the foundation shifting. 8. Boring? Yes, again, we don’t usually have women set on fire on the subway. 9. Ugly: Scenery and Terrain? No mountains. Different strokes for different folks. I prefer the mountain free landscapes. Like my parents before me I enjoy a beautify sunrise and sunset as much as anyone. 10. Severe weather: Tornadoes are a fact of life. When you turned 18, why didn’t you leave Oklahoma? I think that’s the question Meryl Haggard would ask you. “…if you don’t love it leave it…”
What I hate is the poor healthcare, we are now 49th, and I have serious medical things going on and this place is bad for a wheelchair bound person that needs medical care. Just had a major surgery a couple weeks ago at the North Heart Hospital, sheer incompetence is what I experienced.
I live in Moore
Move. Really. Just leave. Geesh.
Not gonna lie, hiking in the Wichita mountains is pretty fun
LIES! Get away fast!
Sutton?
I wrote the theme song for the CBS-TV Series "Walker, Texas Ranger". I LOVE living in Oklahoma. I thank the Lord every day for the great blessing of Him allowing me to live my life here. This person can take this set of opinions and shove them where the sun don't shine. I'm an old guy. I've lived in Indiana (grew up there), Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, California, Tennessee. They all have their problems. This place is easier living than any of them. What blows ME away is that this person is a REAL ESTATE AGENT. In OKLAHOMA! Would you buy property from someone who publishes a video about how bad she hates where she lives and works? Have at it... We should get a GoFundMe page together to fund her moving expenses to anywhere ELSE.
Maybe work on your comprehension?
Yeah it's horrible here! ppl are horrible! everyone should not come here, especially if you're coming from a blue state! Stay far away if you're liberal.
My fault
@@Phinsup-mw2cn mine too
Any place for people if your SS is only $35k?
Odd that people are moving here continously from out of state. Maybe you need to move some place that makes you happy. My new neighbors this year are from Washington, California, Texas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Arizona.
I ran trains through the town of Will Rogers for many years.
What about if i buy one from amazon or home depot? Can i just get it on land in ok? Im renting and thinking of doing this so i can own a home .
Lots of Criminals in Oklahoma. Burglars, Thieves, Liars, Poor Charactor, Poor Workmanship Sorry, low down, no good Garbage. Predators looking for any weakness to exploit. Runs in families, Clans, areas and etc... Lots of good folk too. A pleasure to know. Like everywhere, Listen to your gut. Exeecise Judgement on people and areas, be on Gaurd always, and trust NO ONE, regardless of Occupation, Social Status or Affiliation.
LULZ
Good job!
Oklahoma rocks

OMG try living in Metro Atlanta area! You’d really hate it here! My husband is from Norman OK, I don’t think I could live in Oklahoma due to the tornadoes.
Love Oklahoma and Oklahoma people. Okies mind their own business but don't care for people coming to our state and have blinders on to the positive, leave and go pick on another state. Negative people are boring.
wow I had no idea that Braum's is from OK! We have had Braum's in N TX for decades! It's great:)
Well unlock the person that wants to move back and keep the land prices low I want to get out not sure where I'll go but at least out of this town for the police are completely psychotic for close to 40 of my 68 years I have been harassed drug into court on bogus charges one time with somebody town dog catcher AKA meth cook Thief and I suppose when you fight someone's cousin and grade school that makes you a pretty bad fella or when certain people stomp their foot and want you to work on their house for their price right now and you don't do it you're just a horrible person or you're not in one of the three churches in a very small town or don't spend your paycheck at the tavern and I can see where that would rile them not getting any of your money you have left after paying extremely high tax rate then they continue with school bond issues but now that my parents have passed and the property was taken by the evil half sister slimy lawyers in a corrupt judge sold to a x County Commissioner for 2 million dollars less than what it should have and of course the half sister receives a new house to block from me kind of curious if it was a commissioner or his relative so I live in a town where the court is corrupt the police are corrupt the city council is corrupt and I want to sell 28 acres for commercial and or Industrial to get the top money so I can afford to leave and nothing but carpetbaggers trying to find an angle to get the property h u m light bulb moment it couldn't be the carpet badgers or connected to the mayor and that's why these psychotic cops compounding on my door or making false charges and false tickets surely not I guess I'm really not helping my case and my on selling this property unless you're one of those kind of people and I would gladly sell it to you but for my price of course LOL
Guess I don't understand why anyone would stay in a place they wish to waste time on complaining. Highways go all 4 ways, bye lady!
You should try to get out of central oklahoma before you make another video. Norman sucks. I had to drive through it yesterday and the only thing good about it is seeing it in my rear view mirror. You sound like a typical ou , i put that in lower case for a reason, fan. By typical ou fan i mean arrogant snobby and out of touch with reality
I'm a sophomore at OU now. Coming from Houston, Norman is very nice and relaxed!
What's a tourist to do? Can't think of anything it's famous for. Trail of tears? Waving wheat? The Trumpiest Trump state? Seems like weather is something y'all like to talk about? Hmmm
Hahahah this video isn’t really for tourists, there are definitely videos out there for that though!
don't move to OK, we're full
😂
.. I planned on living in Oklahoma for 6 months to a year and I've been here for 25 years so far. I love driving through Oklahoma what I don't like is the Heat and the humidity I am forced to stay inside with the AC in order to keep my health at Bay. But the rest of the year there is much to do and much to see in our state
I am familiar with the area, if I had to choose one it would be Purcell.
Good choice!
Oolaga
True!
If you live in almost any town in Oklahoma and you don't own a car you are under house arrest. There is NO public transportation. You can't go anywhere.
This 👆🏻
But in Stillwater the townspeople for a fee can ride the bus OSU provides students. Or call Uber, walk, or bicycle. You can also rent a scooter, but I wouldn't do that since I think riding one is risky. You might have a bad accident.
Where are the trees? What happened to the trees? Is this tornado alley? I see zero trees and it looks like where people come to die. If I was a drag queen, my name would be spin around.
Where are the trees? What happened to the trees?
Where's the dividing line? Is Blanchard considered West?
Most people consider it to be I-35.
@@daviddolch2842 Thanks!

I am a singer songwriter having performed in 36 foreign countries and all 50 states, for over 50 years I have long made Okie land my stop and stay point. One of the many songs I have composed is a piece about returning to your little home in Northeastern Oklahoma, the song was always received by audiences most everywhere very well. I think it puts a listener in a good understanding of the state and circumstance.
Oh and incidentally if you would like a listen google Pat richardson ""That Train Don't Run No More""
ua-cam.com/video/CKQEPtUOG48/v-deo.html A song about returning home to small town northeastern Oklahoma
You need to walk, run or ride a bike up some of those hills east of Norman before you call them "gentle".... In fact the Norman running club had nicknames for all those hills out there. You drove from SE 48th on Lindsey to SE 36th. That hill was called "The Big Kahuna" because it is a half mile long and the runners were tired from all the other hills as they were running back into town. I still recall being glad to get to the top of that hill many times. Thank you though for these Norman videos. I miss Norman.
Love it or leave it!
