I followed this and successfully put my new tent up! I’m useless too so must be a good video. Cheers.
@davebarney3369 Thank you for the positive feedback. I'm glad you got the tent up! Happy camping!👍🏼
Without the fly you could just use the tent and a 3x3 tarp.
Decent video mate, just abit of constructive criticism, when shining the light on you for recording don’t shine the light straight on to your face as it messes with it other then that good vid
How can I undo this knot if I’ve tied up my shoes and now can’t take them off… asking for a friend
@jayslater7253 😂😂😂 worst case scenario... Scissors usually does the trick
Cool to know what this knot is called. This is how I make an adjustable size necklace or bracelet. ❤
Good effort 🫡..ear plugs for the noisy rain
Good idea! Thanks 👍🏼

Great job Callum! Really enjoyed that mate, great effort from you boys. Some weather that was! Just like us, nothing better than camping with your mates, core memories. New subs from us mate, looking forward to the next.
Thank you!! There is nothing better than getting outdoors with the lads and just making a good time of it! Thank you for subscibing!
@ totally agree mate! No problem buddy!
He’s got the tinsel and the Christmas jumper out! 😮
@@jayslater7253 😂😂 you know me ever the festive fella....jokes 😂
Very cool. Thanks for the hacks.
try a hammock under blanket you will be warm as toast :)
I'll look into it. Thank you!👍🏼
O hammock , my poor old back can't take sleeping on the ground in a tent anymore :)
Very nice, i live in a northeast brazllian state, its not cold at night and people here use hammock for camping for centuries.
Very cool!
great vid, very helpful cheers
No problem 👍
Too saggy setups
learning curve guys but enjoyed it 🤣
👍
Little life hack for your foresters tent to ensure tautness - peg your doors down first and then pull your sides out taut to them. Helps if your ridge is ever so slightly too high as well, that upwards pull is harder walls and more headroom foot you
*for you even. Bloody phone
Great tip! I will definitely be doing that next time 👍🏼👍🏼
@@just_callum all good buddy! I need to go back to the woods soon, getting cabin fever lol Oh, and get a 4x4 tarp! It's like a mansion!
There is nothing better than being in the outdoors! 4x4 tarp, i will absolutely look into it😜 thanks 👍🏼
When are we going to find out what to do when you can't find the seal for the airbed 😂😅
😂😂😂 there will be a video at some point about fixing stuff around camp😜
Thats awsome
Thank you bro
All the shorts are linking together 😅
More links to come😜
Good job, Callum. Just a suggestion while setting up, start putting up the poles from the area that the pegs/stakes were put in first. It adds the tension in a different way to make it easier to get the pole ends into the pins. Did you have much in the way of condensation with this tent? And as there was quite a bit of space behind the inner tent was there a way to access that area with the inner up? It might also be good to see the tent without the inner and how to set up the inner. 😊 Look forward to more videos.
Awesome, very helpful
Great initial rolling action 👌🏻
Learned from the best😉💪🏼
Who’s the assistant
It's Maddy, my wife.
@ that’s more like it
0.27 thats what she said
😂, i do aim to please😂
Also helpful if you come across a vampire, lots of little sharp stakes!
😂
POV just Callum sees you in a dark forest alone 3:45

Drinking game, take a shot each time you say Dominant 😂🥃
😂😂😂 youve been listening too carefully
First, where does the toilet go? Second, if it's pouring rain, windy storms or snowing, how does he get to the stuff under the sink bowl without going outside ‼️🙄🙄 People always show these vans in the sun ‼️
So the toilet is collapsible with disposable bags. That gets stored under the bed and set up next to the bed with the window open, of course😂 and if it is bad weather and needs to access the back of the car. He has since installed a little door in the back of the cupboard so he can access all the items from the inside 👍🏼 as you can imagine the setup is constantly being updated and reworked.
Do you put a mattress on it or do you just sleep on the wood
😂😂 naa straight on the wood ... great for my back!
I live in Sweden and im probably one of very few owners of this tent here since Go outdoors doesnt ship outside UK. I agree that if I were to go back in time id gone for the 2v2 aswell, im average size at 185cm and this tent is just a bit too small, i have to sort of crawl in and that is just gonna be harder with age aswell. I have since went on to buy both the naturehike mongar 2 and the one tigris backwoods bungalow, which in my mind both are better tents
Hi is that the automatic zafira ? im trying to find a decent automatic mpv but not sure whats reliable 🤔
This one is a manual. But Zafiras, in my experience, are very reliable. I live out in the sticks, and my cars take a beating. I have had no problems whatsoever with the zafira. Can only recommend!
Leave the inner and outer attached, makes it easier next time you pitch 😊
How the heck can you pack the tent up with inner and outer attached when the inner is held up by the poles?..
You run that line through twice through the loop. You gotta track each hitch
I've got 2, bought the original 20 years ago in Argos and it's been used maybe 8 times as I bought a Vaude not long after that was an all in one pitch and freestanding that suited my needs better for sea kayaking(camped on a few beaches), then a few years ago I picked up another one off Ebay which is mint condition, I keep one at the house and one in the car with some "bug out" kit.... I plan to Fabrisil the Ebay one this summer as it's not been tested yet in bad weather! These tents were absolute winners (Unlike the single skin "Sydney" they produced, condensation hell....)
BED - re heat retention, you can place your luggage under it, keeping floor space clear and adding insulation. I add more under me when using the bed to keep the bars away from my arms or use a wider bed.
1:02 magnetic aluminium, incredible the technology available today.
To be fair I thought it was guide lines too before, it does make sense.. much too small for me that tent but thinking of getting an oex tent soon!
That's because you're thick.
I’ve got an OEX Phoxx 2 version 2 I use with myself and large dog plenty of room a really great tent used it about a dozen times absolutely no probs. It’s classed a a two man tent I would happily share it with my wife but it would be a bit awkward with a mate as it would be a bit too snug
They're actually called guy lines, not guide lines.
Correct spelling is guyline (one word); similar to dartboard, not dart board.
@@BadgerBotherer1and even this is sort of an inaccurate spelling. As most people know, it’s actually Guai-lines named after Julius Guai who invented them. Before him, tents flew around everywhere. He was extremely gay.
I love it when someone corrects the person trying to correct someone else . Bravo @@BadgerBotherer1
Is that all you can say? Stop focusing on the negative.
Used one for years, cost me £3 from a charity shop. Unfortunately the zip on the flysheet has gone now. I suppose I could get it repaired, but I have moved on from it now as I am getting older now and need the comfort of a cot to lie on.
£3 is a killer deal! Shame about the zip
So what do you do about the wet patch you’ll get after walking with it for a while? I feel like you didn’t think this through
You are in the wild, a little bit of water on your shirt isn't gunna to affect you too much
I think I just lost brain cells, how do rewind in my head?
I'm losing all hope for the future of humanity
@@Microdave75 this is true we are evolving, just backwards
Being 60ft up wont make it warmer mate 😂 Using that logic Everest would be warm all the time 🤣🤣 Heat does rise! but if it’s not trapped, then it will keep going up!!! Chattin some absolute nonsense in this video lad. The proper way to rate warmth would be to compare the R value of these pads. Also when you lay on them and start to feel warm in your living room is not the right way to test them, the cold ground you get at night will chill the air in the pad!!! 🥶 -Phillip 👍
Thanks for the info 👍🏼
best camping bed is a van imo haha
That is a very valid point!
Thanks Callum, great videos as always.
Thank you!! Really appreciated 😊
An 8 foot long inner 😊 exactly what's needed! Why doesn't that seem to be allowed any more? Great tent & video
No clue? Thanks for the praise and the comment👍🏼
I have had one for 16 years, bought from Argos for £15 and I prefer to my Robert Saunders Backpacker S which cost me £70 back in the late 70's. The Tiger Paw has stood up in some really bad weather I am amazed by it !
I'm glad to hear it's done you well!👍🏼
I’ve got the same tent bought from Argos for £15 but I’ve never used it. I put it up in the garden then packed it up and put it in my loft and it’s been there ever since. Seeing this makes me want to get it out of storage and actually try it out .😂🤣😂
@fengbi5653 im sure if you give it a good go, you'll love it!👍🏼👍🏼
Good video, I have a very similar pro action tent, This is a super budget priced tent, my tent weight is 2.5kg , I love the side entrance, I gave my tent a extra waterproof spray however it kept me nice and dry in heavy rain! It is very similar to my Coleman Bedrock tent! Cheers Mark!
It's definitely a good idea to give your tent a waterproof spray! I haven't trued the coleman bedrock. I'll have to look into it!👍🏼👍🏼
I've been wondering, and haven't seen this tried yet, but for the free-standing version, could one perhaps use two longer sticks instead of one, joining them at the top somehow to eliminate the stick-in-the way issue? Seems to me it would make more room in the shelter. Another idea might be: Using four sticks in like fashion to simulate the ridge-line version, and making a door out of clear plastic. This would allow a fire out front to radiate heat inside, and an emergency tarp hung on the rear wall inside the tent would reflect the heat coming through the door, for cold weather of course. The same thing could be done for any of the free-standing versions, I suspect. What do you think? 🤔
I think that could absolutely work! It would be a pain to set up as anything involving a ridgeline over 2 poles sticks or the like is tricky to set up on your own. But it would work very well in theory. And yeah, absolutely only for cold weather. You would be way too hot it you did that in summer😂 really good idea, though, and a variation that would be lots of fun to spend a cold night in!!
I must ask how many tents do u have? Or do u just buy em try em then take em back 😂
I currently have 9 tents😂😂 the plan is to buy em try em and sell em on😂
