I am in Toledo, Ohio and I'm working on a wood frame 1920's house second floor bathroom. The toilet is connected to 6" cast iron pipe, and the sink and tub both have old lead pipes that connect into the 6" cast iron. All of the lead pipe is buried in concrete identical to what you have posted here. The toilet drain is also buried in concrete. I wonder if they used the concrete to set and support the pipes in an effort to prevent damage. This particular bathroom had a cast iron claw foot tub at one time that was removed and replaced with fiberglass. I am not a contractor, so I am not sure why concrete was used. One of the lead pipe drain joints started leaking in this house, so I am working on repairing the leak. Its turning into a very big job as most of these drain pipes need replaced. The drain pipes are vented, so the steel vent pipes are also involved in the repair. Good times...

Come on really, a clamp. All I ever used is a piece of black electric tape. Telling people to bypass safety controls. Wow. Like a homeowner is supposed to know weather the furnace is safe to run or not. Absolute stupidity. I followed a tech who bypassed a flue rollout switch. His boss found out and he was fired. The building manager found out, and fired the whole company that had the service contract. Real good advice. Take this down. It makes you look very unprofessional.

My goodman 075-3 runs perfectly until the blower fan comes on. The blower goes on and the flame goes out at the same time. Can't figure it out. Once the blower is running, the flame has no problem coming back on and staying on. The problem is only from a cold start. Anyone have an idea?

Gmp075-3 has the most recalls because of bad heat exchanger causing flame rollouts. Replace the furnace.

Omg, what a childish video. NO MENTION of ground variations, bedding in by reversing at power. "Modern anchors are all pretty fantastic". Rubbish. Depends on usage. And three anchors? One of recommended size = stupid beginners' most common error. "A bigger one for storms" is stupid. You always put your normal and best anchor (1-2 over sizes) out IN CASE OF unexpected conditions. Whacha gunna do ... change anchors / add a bigger one in the middle of the night when you start to drag. 10 to 1 is an insanely unnecessarily long rode and a big catenary won't hold you with a "recommended size" in a storm on pebble bottom. No wonder other boats might foul it if you're 100ft from ground point in 10ft of water. Stupid stupid stupid video in every way.

I have remodeled a few bathrooms that had this type of floor and what I did was pulling all the cement out and level the floor by sister 2×6's to the existing floor followed by 3/4 plywood and 1/4 cement board .

THEY BOTH BOW & STERN-TIED AND THE WIND BLEW AGAINST THE BEAM INSTEAD OF THE BOW. OTHER ANCHOR PROBLEMS INCLUDE: ANCHORING TO NEAR AN UNDER WATER CLIFF AND THE ANCHOR DRAGGED A LITTLE, BEFORE FALLING OFF OF IT!! THE ANCHOR LINE WAS SEVERED BY ROCKS, CORAL, OR A PROPELLER. The disclaimer in your video description is not enough. This video could quite literally start a fire in a persons home or cause carbon monoxide poisoning. You should take this video down.

Super irresponsible. You should never leave a safety switch bypassed, only do that for testing. If you watch that ignition you can see why that rollout switch tripped. It tripped because the flames rolled out.. doing exactly what it should be doing. Determining whether a safety switch on a gas fired appliance is faulty or not falls squarely outside the realm of DIY. Dont be stupid, get a professional to look at your furnace.

After watching this video....i can think of a few things right off the hop that have been mentioned by others. As a Journeyman gasfitter here in Canada, first of all I would not recommend do it yourself furnace repairs beyond basic things like changing a filter or cleaning and light maintenance like oiling old style blower bearings and replacing thermocouples. In your scenario, having a tripped rollout switch comes with a number of of questions one needs to ask. Whenever a rollout switch is triggered, the first thing id check would be if the heat exchanger was partially blocked. Next, id use an inspection camera and combustion analyzer to check for cracks in the heat exchanger as well as check the gas pressure. For troubleshooting, I would light it off with the rollout switch jumped out just so I could physically fire the unit to do further diagnostics. You need a professional to tell you whether or not your heat exchanger is still intact. These switches dont simply "break" and you just "order a new one". They are a fusible link designed to open the gas circuit in the event of an unsafe condition. Its not often that I will thumbs down a video but this deserves a hard thumbs down. You have not shown anyone how to repair anything...simple shown them how to restart their furnace in the event of an unsafe condition. Very poor video. Call someone who knows what they are doing to work on your furnace rather than showing people how to know enough to be dangerous. Id be intrigued to know how many rollout switches you have purchased since making this video.
