They have not been winning in the trade market and trying to capitalize on “win now” is really tough when your best player is arguably LeBron at 39 years old. AD should be the lakers best player, but his inconsistency just kills them. They do have some young talent in Reeves and Rui but not sure its enough to compete in a very talented western conference. Yeah, we dont have anything against Walker and think he could be a really valuable player, just don think the Jazz see him in their long term plans. @@UtahJazzDNA I think that's exactly why they're so popular. That and how well integrated basketball is in Utah. But now that the NHL is here and how much SEG is going to be investing in growing youth hockey, popularity is bound to increase year over year. And then you look at NHL players compared to NBA players in terms of height and playing hockey at a higher level just seems like a much more attainable dream for kids, especially when the NBA continues to get taller. I really think hockey is the future here in Utah.

It’s never worked in Jazz history. We only have 1 top 3 pick and that was Kanter. 2 we need to see what the young guys got. If that is losing a bunch of games then I agree with you. @@UtahJazzDNA🤦🏻‍♂️ the means and ends are one in the same… that’s how the Jazz are going to tank this season, by playing the young kids even more than last year, cuz they just acquired three more and traded another two key veteran rotation pieces at the end of last season. Jazz are gonna tank because even when healthy they are the 14th best team in the west. Jazz are gonna tank because the top of this draft class is worth tanking for (and not just Cooper Flagg). And yes, the Jazz are going to tank because development of their youth (SEVEN players 23 or younger) MUST be the highest of priorities when winning (even at full strength) will be so difficult with such an underwhelming and inexperienced roster.

If that was the case they wouldn’t have kept Lauri, wouldn’t have tried to trade for Murray, Derozen, Bridges, & Jrue Holiday. Sounds like a front office that is trying to win games.

It’s LAU - RI He’s not a #1 option on a playoff-bound team, he’s arguably not even a #2 option on a championship-bound team because he’s not capable of creating his own shot, because he’s not someone you throw the ball late in the game and tell him to cook. Lauri’s great but he’s still not a #1 option and I doubt he gets there. Lauri was a first time all star selected by the coaches (when the ASG was being held IN SLC), and he was MIP (very well deserved) but look at the list of those names - a lot of good players, but not exactly all superstars.

In order to even compete for a championship, an NBA team needs a top-8 superstar, a top-20 second banana, and a top-50 player, all alongside a solid supporting cast. Lauri’s around 25th, next best might be Sexton (but he’s not even top 50 yet) The Jazz need someone BETTER THAN LAU-RI (not LOR-RIE) to compete for a championship. And they’re not getting that top-8 superstar in free agency, and they can’t expect to trade for him (and not give up the entire farm and house and garage in the process). The Utah Jazz, like most NBA teams (not one of six major destinations) have to DRAFT that player. And the Jazz aren’t likely to draft that player with late lottery picks. Given a handful of a superstar prospects at the top of the 2025 draft (FAR BETTER than Wemby’s year even in terms of depth/balance), it BEHOOVES the Jazz to ensure they are in position to acquire one of them…

And again, now for the fourth time because you clearly require a lot of repetition, the Jazz didn’t make the trades they chose not to make because they would have been in a far worse position - spent assets on second-tier older/too old stars to improve to a play-in contender, and with far less financial flexibility going forward. The Jazz need to find someone BETTER THAN LAURI in the draft JFC - this is not that complicated

I actually love the idea of having Lauri practice his iso game every like 3rd play down, it’s something he can work on and it would help them not win games! You have a great point, Patty could very well just be a veteran presence, I do think he needs to show Keyonte a few things if they plan on using him as a true point. I guess I didn’t realize that Ingram will make 36 million this year but will be a UFA.
