Just completed this build yesterday, Thank you for taking the time to detail out the steps for this.
No problem, glad it worked well for you
Dont they make black pvc?
PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) is white, while ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is usually black or grey. ABS piping is typically stronger than PVC and is more resistant to thermal shock from extreme cold, but it may warp if left exposed to direct sunlight. This makes ABS well-suited for underground pipe applications. Cons are warping in the sun, it is heavier, and more expensive than a rattle can of your favorite color…
Can’t wait to get back out again
No doubt! Me too!
Show us the fish!!!!
You can buy a new pole with everything you need for $200 and thats just what the ram mount costs
Where??
Thank for the video It gave me the idea to make one for ice fishing only mod I made to it besides not mounting it on the boat was I cut the 1 1/4" piece in half and put a tee in there and made some legs for it to sit over the ice hole
That is perfect for ice fishing! Should work well
Can i buy your old one or a new from you? Im not the best handy builder 🤷😢😅
How does it hold up in motion like trolling soeeds
Awesome! The parts list detail is very helpful
whats it look like on boat
Are the 3" bolts quarter inch or 5/16"..I assume they are 5/16 or I would need 1/4" lock nuts.
Yes you are right, I made an error on the sizing of those. Either way works
This is a great design..I have made two so far.
@@bobtomlinson8247 Happy to hear they are working well for you!
Thank you a very great video with easy to understand instructions
@@malcolmzoll7613 glad it was helpful, enjoy the build
I cut the head of a old trolling motor.. was done in 5 minutes! (very stable also).
Great idea. Can you share what you used to mount the transducer onto the pole with?
Thanks for watching, I hope the build goes well for you. I used the 0 degree shaft mount made by garmin
Thanks for posting, looks good, I will be copying this for my upcoming build! Great Job!
Thanks! Enjoy the build and reap the benefits on the water
Thank you for the easy to follow video. I will begin my build this week as I install my new unit! I will say this is considerably less expenisive than the poles they sell in Basspro for $600!
Glad you can get some intel out of it and hope it works well for you!
Nice job Josh and Cooper!!!
Thanks! Always a good time with cricket in the boat!
Very nicely done! Thank you!!!
Thanks, glad it was helpful for you
does this mount on a typical bass boat ,not aluminum. plus how do you run the cables down to the transducer ?
I mount mine on the Lund sporttrak mount with a d size screw down ram ball. I think with a bass boat you would have to mount the ball on a rail or screw it to the gunnel. Another option would be one of the bicycle clamp type mount that hangs out over the gunnel. For the transducer cord I have used Velcro wraps and now I am currently using custom built bungee cord to allow for less twisting restriction.
Put the Fish in the water where it belongs! #goveganfortheanimals
This fish was revived after capture in our aerated livewell then brought out for this short report and promptly released in healthy and stress free condition. I did however give three of his buddies a hot oil bath to provide my family with wild healthy protein the way our Lord intended!
I made one like yours but with 1” and 1/2” pvc and a c ball ram mount. It’s pretty wimpy. I’m going to do yours next time . Thanks for the time and effort to show us how to do it.
You will get much better performance with the beefed up components. Thanks for watching and enjoy the build! Tight lines
Nice precision work thank you
Thanks for watching! If you build one you will really like it!
I'll be starting on a copy tomorrow. Thanks for sharing! Very nice job putting this together so the rest of us can benefit from your experience.
Thanks for taking the time to watch! Hope your build goes well, tight lines!
Definitely gonna have to give this one a try. Thanks for sharing!
No problem, you will like it. Works very well
Nice design. I like it
Thanks, it really works well for us. Easy design
Thanks, nice build. I think I will see about getting stainless ubolts and putting plastic tubing on the ubolt instead of the chunk of rubber to clean it some more. It's always good to have options for changing things that fit your application. I need one for the rear starboard side, and this looks awesome. 👌
Thanks, and yes absolutely, constant improvement is DIY at its best. Let me know how the mods work for you!
Nice !
Thanks!
Its ottertail county you can probably use geography to figure oht where it is like geoguessr style
It’s in the pelican rapids area

The wasps of the water.
They sting with little warning!
Beautiful
They can be when desired, not so much when not being targeted though….😂
I only eat smaller fish unless it's salmon. Nice to see you release this older fish.
Yes selective harvest is super important! These larger pike I believe are the best way to keep a balanced population in these glacial lakes around here.
I didn't know you can run those heaters on their side? Did you check to see it that is advised or not? I quit ice fishing years go but if I did I would surely be using a diesel heater instead of propane.
They are approved to be run on their side as long as the glow plug is up. And yes far superior to propane!
Great job guys!!
Thanks Scott!
Throwing out where’s the salt for here’s my wine! 🤣 Yes! Cooper and Nora you did great! We giggled at many “Skrove-isms”!
Wait until you see the new opener episode. Full of Skrove-isms
Nice ! Good haul and a camp out!
Thanks!
And pee! 😂
LOL
Good Job there Josh! Good news is there is such a large turkey population that there should be plenty for next year spring and fall too
