An OBD airbag scanner or scan tool can't erase these and a dealer will want you to buy a new SRS module computer. Save with Safety Restore. SRS Airbag ...
How To Fix Repair a Stuck Locked Jammed Seat Belt Pretensioner
Переглядів 257 тис.7 років тому
A video on how to fix stuck, locked & jammed seat belt pretensioners after accident. All seat belts have a gas charge or a pyrotechnic device in them that goes off during a crash, locking the seatbelt mechanism. Once this gas charge goes off, the seat belt will not work again during an accident. Once fired, your seat belt may be jammed, locked, not retracting, stuck, making weird rattling noise...

My belt had two issues. One was the drivers belt had a VERY WEAK retraction. I'd get out at a store and returning that belt would be hanging below the bottom of a closed door. The other issue was the seat belt warning light was illuminated, My scanner showed pre-tensioner, open circuit, drivers seat. I sent the belt to Safety Restore with a typed note asking if they could also tighten the retraction spring. I also sent an email asking the same and their reply was YES they could fix that too. I got it back and the belts warning light was still on (Yes I did a belt system reset) AND the belt still hung out the bottom of the door if I didn't remember to work it back in before closing it. I contacted them saying I understood the cause of the illuminated warning light could be something elsewhere BUT the belt retraction was a different animal and that hadn't changed one bit. Sent it back, on them, and they returned the belt days later, on them again, and THE RETRACTION WAS WORSE THEN EVER acting like a turn or three had been TAKEN OUT of the retraction spring. I appreciate that they agreed to try it again AND for covering shipping cost both ways the second time but the belt retraction is pretty much mechanical and even that wasn't repaired and as I said, was even weaker after the second "fix." Not running safety restore down and I've used them I believe twice in the past with great results and recommended them to a could of friends but this time I'm VERY disappointed in the results. What makes my problem worse is Nissan no longer sells a replacement belt. It's a 2006 Titan and one from a salvage yard will likely have a lot of usage on it too.

This video should be banned from Ebay. I'm appalled. Guessing Im going to be arrested and sentence me to years in prison for working on vehicles!!!😂😂😂😂 The OP talks about scams when in fact he is scamming peopl. A misleading title for clicks and scare tactics and indulting the public all to make a sales pitch.😂😂😂😂 To the OP..... You really should rethink things because this video tremendously hurt your bottom line. You lost far more potential sales than you wouldve hained had you been positive instead of deceitful. Also this video could've been made no more than 2 to 2.5 minutes long max instead if a near 10 min sermon insulting people with negativity. The title could've been made without deceit. Something like. "Seatbelts should only ever be repaired except by legally authorized services" "Heres Why" Then state that only an authorized service can give you a legal guarantee of a proper repair and safety. Then explain that attempting repairs on your own or with an unauthorized company could result in bad consequences if the repair isn't done properly so proceed with extreme caution if you insist on repairing seat belts yourself or using unauthorized services. Thats all you really needed and you could've still pointed out your own company as an option.

THIS VIDEO IS AN ADVERTISEMENT, NOT A GUIDE. Most of you probably have seatbelts stuck in reverse lock. Here's the solution: 1. Hold the seatbelt retractor between your legs in the EXACT same orientation as it is on the car (as close as you can get it) 2. Wind the seatbelt back 1/2" -3/4" 3. Gently pull the seatbelt back up, making sure that the belt exits the retractor at the same angle it would when installed on the car. 4. If it locks, back it up 1/2" - 3/4" and try again. You may have not gotten the orientation right. 5. When you pull it out all the way, use a clip to keep it from retracting back or loosely tie a knot in it to prevent it from retracting all the way again. (Obviously don't install your seatbelt with a knot in it). There. 5 steps. I fixed 3 junkyard seatbelts this way. Was that so hard, Gavin?
