ONE of SCOTLANDS FINEST MOUNTAINS!
Переглядів 3214 місяці тому
First of all, I apologies about not showing the aurora image. Truth be told, it was pretty shoddy anyway. This video was also shot in early 2023 too! I have finally got round to editing it though, and this was a special day on one of Scotlands finest peaks! The views over to the Black Cuillin are staggering, and while we did not have clouds, we still had drama! It was great to go hiking with Jo...
WILD CAMPING is AMAZING for LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY!

A solo wild camp up Moelwyn Mawr. A beautiful spot for sunset and sunrise! Although we had epic storm clouds in the evening, the light did not quite happen! So It all hinged on sunrise and I got a shot I was very happy with! I hope you enjoy the video!
Hiking Yr Aran: A day for experiences, not photographs!

A lovely day up Yr Aran, of which I was hoping to photographt the dramatic peak. However that did not materialize. It was still breathtaking to witness the sunset and the moon rise at pretty much the same time! Enjoy the video!

WINTER PHOTOGRAPHY in the SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS

This was my most productive trip to Scotland to date as I was lucky to coincide the trip with a ridge of high pressure, that brought about some stunning winter days, both on the hills and in the glens! I hope you enjoy the video and I apologize about the over use of the word "spectacular"! Enjoy! #winterphotography #scotland #mamores #hiking #adventure #outdoorphotography #scottishhighlands
THE MACRO MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE!
Переглядів 1439 місяців тому
In this video, I test myself with a macro lens up a mountain to prove that you can get close up images even with epic views in front of your lens. (Not that I had any). A beautiful snowy day up Yr Wyddfa in Eryri. I shot with the Sigma 105mm Macro lens and really enjoyed the challenge! Maybe you should give it a go! I hope you enjoy the video!
5 days PHOTOGRAPHING 1 AREA in SCOTLAND!

A breathtaking 5 days in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. Assynt is an area of rugged beauty, with dramatic peaks raising straight from the ground. Some of the best mountains in Britain can be found in this relatively small area. With its changeable weather, amazing Lochinver pies and captivating scenery. Assynt is a photographers playground. I hope you enjoy the video and images. A s...

SEASCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY: BEST BEACH IN NORTH WALES?
Переглядів 503Рік тому
My favourite beach in North Wales delivered again after a fast in coming tide. With big waves, plenty of sea stacks and a west facing position for sunset. This has to be one of the best beaches to photograph in North Wales! I can't get enough of it!! I hope you enjoy the video!!
A Tale of Two Seasons: The Carneddau

A brilliant circular walk across the Carneddau, taking in some beautiful views and in my opinion, one of the best in Wales! I hope you enjoy this video and I apologize about the audio! It will be sorted for the next one! Enjoy! #adventure #explore #hikingadventures #snowdonia #carneddau #landscapephotography #mountains
A WILD CAMP and CLOUD INVERSION in SCOTLAND!!
Переглядів 392Рік тому
An amazing hike and wild camp with Rhys. The forecast looked promising the day before, so we decided to head up the pre historic Beinn Eighe, and how it was worth it. The sea of cloud above some of Scotlans most iconic peaks was breathtaking! Thank you and I hope you enjoy the video!

Beautiful video and scenes 👍🙂
super
Thank you!
How do i find that beautiful tree you photographed at 6.25 ?
Always a pleasure to watch. Yet another excellent video Ellis. Totally agree with the sentiment about the select few "Pro" photographers who just love a bit of click bait. Oh, and I feel the pain with the technical issues. Been there many times. 🙂
Thank you Garry! The wind can make filming a nightmare!
Great job superb pictures
Thanks a lot stuart!:)
Great video. Agreed. Weather means a lot 🙂👍
Thank you very much mate!
@@elliswoodphoto 👌
Great video mate, thanks for the shout out. Agree the weather makes such a huge difference. There are so many pros that I really look up to that don't rub people's noses in it. You named a few that really inspire me. The others.. well not mentioning any names 😂 Cracking images mate.
Yeah your video definitely triggered me mate ! Thank you!
As ever always enjoy your content Ellis... today's episode was fabulous and anyone who has been up a hill and watched the light bouncing around will understand the joy you must have felt waiting for it and it finally coming to fruition for you.. alas that 4th elelment wasn't today but it will happen one day for you I am sure. Great message and I have found my inspiration does not come from those "pros" who clickbait their way through video after video but those that genuinely go out and do it for the love mostly - yes, not all pros are like it but I have to stop myself naming those that are...lol. Keep doing what you are doing fella, great images. atb Al
I also did well not too mention anyone Al! Thank you mate!
I enjoyed the video as usual Ellis. It definitely looked cold up there. Great image's as usual. I thought the one with the sunrays shining through was awesome. Catch you on the next one mate.
Thank you for your continued support Tim!
great video Ellis 🙂 completely agree on the UA-cam "pro" photographer angle. shan't comment any further, I'll leave it there! and being in Wales mate - we are the world capital of moody, changeable weather. some places get 4 seasons in a day, we can get that in an hour!!
I do love a 4 seasons in one day kind day!
Great video Ellis 👌👍
cheers Mark!
Wow the ogwen valley shot
Glad you like it steve!
Only just seen this one somehow Ellis 🤔. Great video mate 👌👍
Great concept, brilliantly executed.

Thank you very much, appreciate 🙏!! Have a lovely week!!!
What a brilliant video, really well put together mate.
Thanks Martin. Glad you enjoyed it pal!
Thanks for the enjoyable video. Beautiful images. I am coming to UK in December this year from NZ and my goal is to get an image of Tryfan I am proud of to give to my 84 year old dad who used to escape from London whenever he could in the 1950's to climb Tryfan.
Ah amazing. good luck with getting that! I hope this video gave you a few ideas!
Such a great idea for a video this Ellis, and really nice to see all of your images of Tryfan from different angles and in different conditions over the past few years. Great work!
Thanks Sam! Glad you enjoyed it mate!
Just sat and watched this for a second time. Brilliant Ellis... you deserve far more subscribers with content like this. 👍
Thanks Garry! Hopefully produce more similar content to this! Glad you enjoyed it twice haha!!
A very different video Ellis. Excellent work.
Thank you very much peter!
I enjoyed the video as usual Ellis. A well put together documented one. Fantastic view's all the way through. Absolutely stunning image's mate. Catch you on the next one.
Cheers Tim ! It is a great mountain!!
What a fantastic Project. I also love Tryfan but have only really photographed it from Afon Lloer (the classic) You've definitely inspired me to attempt other viewpoints. You've got a great portfolio of stunning images featuring the mighty Tryfan
Thanks a lot mate! Yeah so many other vantage points, where it looks amazing. Try them!
@@elliswoodphoto apologies if you did mention it in the video but which is your favourite location to view and photograph from?
I didnt😂 more the conditions determine it! Llyn Caseg Fraith with the snow and ice is hard to beat!!
@@elliswood2030 I was just looking at that view in the Snowdonia book ☺
Fantastic vlog Ellis 👌 Tryfan is a mountain I loved to climb north ridge being a great ascent and more often or not throw in Bristly Ridge. Your vlog brings back happy memories 👍
Glad it brings back good memories Richard! It is a beautiful mountain to photograph!
Fantastic vlog Ellis. The project really paid off when seeing the final product. Superb mate. PS, still got your hat 😂
haha! It is a running theme! I will get it back ! Thanks Mark!
Brilliant just brilliant
Thanks a lot Steve!
Beautiful video. Amazing views. Enjoyed watching the video. Thanks for sharing. 👍4
I am glad you liked it and thanks for the comment!
Withot doubt one of my fave videos of yours since I found the channel. Great idea and so well executed Ellis. You could not have picked a more iconic mountain in Eryri for this project and you have done it and yourself proud. A very enjoyable watch. Hard to pick a fave image but the opening shot in the snow from llyn caseg looked pretty spectacular. You should compile a zine or something.. if you do put e down for a copy. atb Al
So appreciative of the comment mate. It has crossed my mind to do something physical to showcase the amazing peak!
Wonderful video Ellis, makes me pine for the winter. Hope the video does really well. Subbed
Thanks for the appreciation and really grateful of sub! Thanks Dave
Cracking Mr, that time-lapse is a beauty, and that Milkyway image is 😍🥰😍
Thanks pal! Yeah I need to get back in to astro! Not done it in agess!!
Brilliant
Amazing video. Thanks for sharing. 👍21
Thank you!
Enjoyed the video as usual Ellis. That scree slope looked really dodgy. Great image's as usual mate. Catch you on the next one.
Thanks Tim! yeah very dodge scree slope!
Great vlog and images mate! You also captured that horrifying scree slope perfectly lol
Thanks Matt! grim isn't it haha
That looed a steep pull andthe scree would put me off.Could you see down into Camasunary Bay towards Elgol? I once stayed in the bothy & a scene of crimes officer joined us after walking dwon from Blaven - he had walked from Sligachan. I will be honest blue sky days are my least fave for photography so it would have been all about the experience of the mountain and the walk for me... but what a mountan to walk.. as ever, enjoyable watch fella. atb Al
ah its an amazing bay! That bothy is lovely! No I was on eastern side. The western side (with view of the bay is really hard to get to)
👍 I recognise that hat 😂
I will get it back haha!
Great video Ellis. Love the story format with the journey making a refreshing change from this shot blah blah etc 😀. Love the pano shot mate. PS, still got your hat in the car.🤣
Thanks a lot Mark, yeah might approach them differently from no on! I needed that hat today on the mountain haha!
Great video and images Ellis. Really enjoyed 👍
Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it!
Enjoyed the video as usual Ellis. Great view's. I'm glad that the weather was good to you. Great image's as usual mate. Look forward to the next one.
Thanks Tim, appreciate your continued support!
Great video!
Thank you Steffen!
That was a "drop the mic!" moment and the video hadn't really started 🤣 Very enjoyabe wathc Ellis and I'll be honest not been up Moelwyn Mawr but having seen this it's somewhere I would love to get up . Loved the shot at 14:34 - do I take it the 1st ridge in the foreground in Cnicht? There is a shot I have in mind looking towards Moelwyn Mawr & Bach from above Cwmorthin, one day I might get up there. artb Al
Thanks a lot Pal! Yeah Yeah Cnicht, with Yr wyddfa behind it, It is a beautiful view! I haven't been that way looking towards the Moelwyns. Bet it is beautiful!
Really nice Ellis and the sunrise shot was beautiful 👍👍👍
Thanks Lawrence! Really glad you enjoyed it!
Good moments being out. Respect for the tribute to Alan. Years ago I climbed Yr Wyddfa and Yr Aran via the Watkin path, a hot day in late spring.
Thanks Mike! He was amazing and will be missed! Ooooh both in one day is big!
Enjoyed the video as usual Ellis. That's all you needed was wet feet going and coming back down. Nice image's as usual. Loved the time lapse. Look forward to the next one mate.
Thank you Tim, yeah it is a lovely peak! Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent vlog Ellis loved the timelapse's. The only ways I've been up there were through the quarry from Rhudd Ddu or from the Watkin Path side its quite a while since I've done the summit of Yr Aran, I remember one time a Seaking search and rescue helicopter on the top a mate of mine went like crazy up the mountain only to be told by people up there if he was a few minutes earlier he would have witnessed the helicopter taking off he wasn't impressed.
That is mental! so he just missed it! madness!
Great vlog mate, loved the Timelapse 👌👍
@@markpiercephotography Thanks mate!
Nice video. Thank you for sharing. subd & 👍40
Thank you!
Typical Brit , couldn’t say Scotland .
Fantastic effort and a great video - really enjoyed watching! I've done a handful of these mountains previously but would absolutely love to attempt this full walk one day
Thanks mate!! Yeah take a lot of food! I was constantly eating! I also had a spare pair of boots and socks half way which helped!
You had some stunning views but in every image, I couldn't see past the foreground. I know people say that a great image has layers and we should always include foreground interest, but like all photography rules, there's a time and a place. When you have a view like you had, only one thing counts, the light. If you are able to include a foreground interest that enhances the image and leads the viewer into it, then go for it but when it blocks the view or stops the viewer from going further, it should be left out.
Hi thanks for the honest comment Paul and I totally agree. I did shoot this area last time and shot the vista purely. I made it my effort to shoot more foreground this time. Thanks Ellis
